The DreamWalker: Book 1 of the Seven Seals of the Labyrinth
When young Rose Cible comes to pay her final respects to the late Master of Dross Manor, she finds herself alone with the master's body. Sure that no one will hear her, she sends him off with a final wish, unaware that in life, Master Dross had always been sensitive to wishes. His corpse opens its eyes, promising to grant that wish. Three years later, the manor is inhabited again by two gentlemen whom only she can see. These ghostly denizens have specific instructions from the old master as to how to prepare Rose to complete her wish鈥攚ith only one stipulation: that she never enter the manor after dark. One night, however, Rose overstays her welcome, and is promptly dragged through the attic mirror to a wonderland of complex magic, mages in tight leather pants, flamboyant huntsmen, and romance so inevitable that it turns her head from her one and only goal鈥攕urvive, retrieve her memories, and escape this place. Trapped on the other side of the mirror, she finds that the deceased master had plans for her long before the wish was made. She has already been enrolled in a Mages' Academy of Magic, where, being female, and possessing not a drop of magic herself鈥攕he meets neither requirement. However, the Academy is not all as it seems, and the return home comes with a steep price. The Labyrinth connecting their worlds has a job for her, and refuses to let her go until it, and her wish, are complete.
