    Chapter 480

Ronan returned to Lumos Enterprises, sending a photograph to his assistant to identify the man in the

image. It was a photo of a man with Cordelia, sent to Ronan by an anonymous texter.

In the evening, Ronan returned home and asked his son, Callum, "Do you still want your mom toe

    and stay with us?"

    "Of course, I do."

    "Well, then call her."

Callum studied Ronan''s face for a while, "Dad, don''t tell me you''re too embarrassed to call her

    yourself?"

"I am not embarrassed about anything. You call her. Use thendline."

Callum reluctantly picked up the receiver. He remembered Cordelia''s number from thest time Ronan

    had dialed it for him.

Upon connecting, a voice came from the other end, "Hello?"

    "Mom." Callum''s young voice echoed.

Hearing this, Cordelia smiled, her heart warming, "Callum, what''s up?"

"Mom, when will your meeting end?" Callum asked, tilting his little face up towards the receiver.

    "Tomorrow afternoon," Cordelia replied.

"Professor, put it on speaker. We want to hear this little munchkin," two students cajoled.

Unable to resist, Cordelia switched to speakerphone.

"So, what are your ns after the meeting?"

"I was thinking of going straight back to the university," Cordelia replied, her voice softening as she

    spoke to her son.

"So, you''re going back on your word? Weren''t you supposed toe and stay with us?" Callum

    grumbled.

"Uh." Cordelia was at a loss for words, knowing how important it was to keep promises to children.

"Mom,e on over. I''ll get Janice to prepare rooms for all three of you, okay?"

"Wow, all three of us? Thanks, Callum. We won''t be a bother, will we?" Sally asked, excitedly.

"No, not at all. I''m so lonely, I''d love to have you two here. Hurry up, I''ll be waiting." With that, Callum

promptly hung up, afraid Cordelia might make an excuse.

"Ms. Haselwood, let''s go tomorrow. Look how eager Callum is. Don''t worry about Professor Evans, it''s

obvious that he was the one who told him to call. Notice how he used thendline? Someone would

have to know cell numbers to use andline, and he''s a little kid who can''t remember so much

numBers. So, yeah, Professor Evans must''ve instructed him to do it." Sally reasoned out.

"Alright," Cordelia agreed, conceding that Sally had a point.

The next day, the trio took a cab to Ronan''s house.

Ronan was not home. Upon seeing Cordelia, Callum was naturally overjoyed. Janice, on the other

hand, couldn''t help but sneak a few extra nces at Cordelia. Their rtionship now was not as simple

as before. They both tacitly avoided bringing up Harold. The students, unaware that Janice was

Harold''s mother, admired the decor of "Professor Evans''" house.

Janice arranged for the two students to stay on the first floor but didn''t arrange a room for Cordelia.

"Where will I be staying?" Cordelia asked, surprised.

"Mr. Evans said you''d be sharing a room with him," Janice said.

    Cordelia fell silent.

Sally and Sean pretended not to hear, coughed a couple of times, and looked away.

Cordelia pulled Janice aside, "Sharing a room after a divorce?"

"Well, that''s just how Mr. Evans arranged it. He didn''t ask me to arrange another room. If you have a

problem with it, you can wait for him to return," Janice replied.

With no other choice, Cordelia anxiously waited for Ronan''s return.

Two hourster, Ronan came back, his face somewhat grim.
