Chapter 425

    Chapter 425

Ronan nonchntly handed the contract to Emerson. "Have legal look it over. Next time, you sign the

contracts. We''re leaving." With that, he headed towards the exit.

At the door, he suddenly turned back to ask Cordelia, "Are youing, Ms. Haselwood?"

Cordelia, taken aback, replied, "Oh, no, I''ll stay. Thank you, Mr. Evans."

Once Ronan had left, Cordelia finally found herself able to breathe, realizing she''d been sweating

    bullets.

"Coming down with something, Ms. Haselwood?" Peter asked Cordelia.

    N?velDrama.Org holds ? this.

"Oh, nothing like that," Cordelia answered, somewhat preupied.

"You should be there next time we sign a contract. Keep an eye out for any potential traps," Peter

    suggested.

"They won''t do that." Cordelia smiled, amused by Peter''s paranoia.

"You''re right, Lumos Enterprises is a big shot. Mr. Evans wouldn''t risk his reputation for a small profit.

So, are youing next time?" Peter asked again.

"Sure," Cordelia remembered clearly, Ronan had said he wouldn''t being next time.

    ……

In Ronan''s car, he kept looking out the window.

"She''s just doing her job for Empower Operations. You know she''s always careful and responsible."

    Emerson tried to reassure Ronan.

"Say what?" Ronan seemed to not understand Emerson''s words, turning to ask him.

"I''m talking about Cordelia, Cordelia! Got it now?" Emerson raised his voice.

"Hmm, who said I miss her?" Ronan turned away, pulling out a cigarette.

    ……

    At Barney''s house.

As soon as Ronan left, Callum woke up. Seeing Harold, he cheerfully said, "You''re here? My dad said

you''d look after me this afternoon."

"Sure thing,e here, I''ll teach you how to draw," Harold said, lifting Callum by his armpits.

Callumughed with glee. "Janice told me you can draw; teach me!" Callum said in his baby voice.

    "Okay."

Callum and Harold headed to Barney’s study.

Ronan’s grandfather, Barney, used to write inscriptions and paint, so brushes and paper were readily

    avable.

Harold picked up a brush; the first stroke was of hair. But after a few strokes, he realized that if he

painted Cordelia and Mr. Evans found out, his mother would know, too. He didn''t want his mother to

know so soon. The sooner she knew, the sooner she''d object. After all, Cordelia was a teacher, and

    five years his senior!

    Objection was inevitable.

He felt, at least, he should wait until he won her over. Considering Cordelia''s fiery temperament, that

could take a while. So, he crumpled the painting and tossed it into the nearby trash bin. The discarded

painting only had a few strokes of Cordelia''s hair.

"Callum, I will paint a picture for you."

    "Okay."

"Stay still, okay? But if you need to pee or drink water, you can."

"Okay, I''ll just sit here and y with my toys."

"Alright, I am going to start painting."

During the painting process, Callum went to the bathroom twice, drank water twice, and spent the rest

of the time ying with his toys. His focus impressed Harold.

As soon as the painting was finished, Ronan and Emerson returned. Seeing Harold''s painting, Ronan

    asked, "You did this?"

"Yes, Mr. Evans. Your son''s concentration is incredible. He''s very well-behaved," Harold said while

    packing his bag.

Ronan felt proud hearing his son being praised, but he simply asked, "Is that so?"

"Yes. Mr. Evans, I should get going. Are you guys leaving tomorrow? I have a freshman orientation

tomorrow afternoon. If it ends early, I cane to see you off, mainly to give Callum a little gift."

"No need. You do your thing," Ronan replied.

Harold just smiled, he''d already made up his mind, and this was something he had to do.

"Stay for dinner. I''m about to start cooking," Emerson said, putting on an apron.

"No need. They''re in the honeymoon phase. Absence makes the heart grow fonder." Ronan sat on the

    couch, teasing Harold.

Harold chuckled. "Mr. Evans is the expert here. He would know."
