Chapter 407

    Chapter 407

After two tense months, Cordelia graduated.

In July, Cordelia wasted no time and made her way to Birchwood University.

As a recruited talent, Cordelia was treated like an associate professor, though her official title was still

lecturer. She couldn’t independently supervise graduate students yet and was assigned under Dr.

Young as a co-supervisor. She was tasked with teaching undergraduate and finance department

    graduate students in ounting.

The university provided Cordelia with an apartment, a neat and clean two-bedroom unit.

One day, after cleaning her apartment, Cordelia made a trip to the supermarket to buy necessary

    household items.

She had taken a taxi there, but during summer break, vehicles without a pass were not allowed to

freely enter and exit the university campus. Left with no choice, Cordelia had to get off at the university

entrance. She stood at the entrance, arms filled with bags of groceries.

Cordelia was a refreshing sight on this summer day. She wore a white blouse and a coffee-colored

maxi skirt. Her waist-length hair flowed down her back like a waterfall. She was not wearing any

    sses.

As she was about to put her groceries down and ask the security guard to keep an eye on them while

she made multiple trips to transport them to her apartment, her hair slid off her shoulders. Under the

sun, this scene was as beautiful as a painting.

A young man in the distance, mesmerized by the scene, wished he could capture this moment of

    beauty.

Cordelia stood up and said to the security guard, “I live in Unity Hall. It’s too much for me to carry in

one go. Could you please watch over my bags while I move them?”

Before the security guard could respond, a voice from the side asked, “Excuse me?”

Cordelia turned her head and saw a vibrant, tall, and young man. He was on a mountain bike with a

basketball in a bag hanging from the handlebars. He was wearing blue basketball shorts, and his

shirt was draped over his shoulders. His tanned skin was sweaty. He was youthful, masculine, and full

    of vitality.

The young man looked at Cordelia and said, “I’m a finance student. Need a hand?” He had just biked

over and guessed that Cordelia was having trouble carrying all her groceries.

“Can you help?” Cordelia nced at his bike.

“Yep, let’s go.” Saying this, the young man put the basketball in ated bag and hung it on his

handlebars. Then, he took as many of Cordelia’s bags as he could onto the back of his bike. Cordelia

held onto two bags, and they began walking towards the campus.

“Which dorm are you headed to?” The young man asked Cordelia.

    “Oh, Unity Hall.”

The young man looked surprised. “You have a rtive living in Unity Hall?”

    “No, me.”

“You?” The young man looked at Cordelia again. “Are you a new teaching assistant?”

Cordeliaughed and nodded. “Something like that. You’re quite the tterer.”

“How did I tter you?” The young man asked, looking at Cordelia.

Cordelia only smiled and didn’t point out that his mistaking her for a teaching assistant was a

his eyes, she was at most 25 years old. This was a greatpliment to any woman, as who wouldn’t

    want to look forever young?

“You said you’re in finance. Why didn’t you go home for the summer break? Or did youe back

    early?” Cordelia asked.

“Yeah. I was just epted into grad school. I was out ying basketball. There’s a tournament when

    the semester starts.”

“Are you a grad student? What’s your research focus?”

    “Investment.”

“Oh.” Cordelia thought, that if this young man was one of her students, given his enthusiasm, she

would definitely teach him more. “So, you''re Dr. Dustin''s student.”

“You know Dr. Dustin?” The young man looked surprised.

“Who doesn''t know the famous Dr. Dustin? He''s a legend in the investment world. It''s your good

fortune to be under his wing.”

When Cordelia first joined the university, Dr. Dustin was one of the people who rmended her. She

had certainly heard of his reputation.

“Oh, I thought you wouldn''t know anyone since you''re new,” the young man said.

“Oh, by the way, what''s your name?”

    “Harold.”

“Okay. I’ll remember you.” Cordelia spoke to Harold like a teacher would to a student. How the student

saw her, she had no idea.

Harold’s mountain bike arrived at Unity Hall.

Unity Hall was a three-story building without an elevator. Cordelia, being young, was assigned to the

third floor. In other words, she needed to carry her groceries up the stairs herself.

Harold looked at Cordelia and said, “You seem to have your hands full. I''ll help you carry these up.”

Cordelia thanked him. She wanted to add, I will make sure to say good things about you to Dr. Dustin,

but Cordelia didn''t say it in the end.

Harold also helped Cordelia install her light bulbs and tidy up the flower pots on the balcony. Looking at

her neat and clean apartment, Cordelia smiled with satisfaction. “Thank you, Harold.”

“You''re wee. But I didn’t do this out of pure kindness. I was hoping to impress a prettydy,” he

    said while looking at Cordelia.

Cordelia thought to herself, “This young man is handsome and charming, and his straightforward gaze

is unforgettable. He has the most captivating eyes.”

However, the idea of a student having a crush on his teacher was always a joke to Cordelia.

Sheughed, “Alright. Thanks for your help.”

With his hands in his pockets and his shirt draped over his shoulder, Harold whistled as he left.
