Chapter 402
Time flew. Grass sprouted, and leaves fell.
Callum had slowly evolved from being a babbling baby in swaddling clothes to walking on his own. He
had transformed into a charming little boy who could call "Dad."
Apart from Janice, Ronan had everyone else in the house dismissed. He found another woman to
assist Janice, ensuring that nobody would mention Cordelia.
Janice was primarily responsible for Callum.
Edwin and Brooklyn got hitched in the second year after Cordelia''s disappearance. Without leaving any
word, Cordelia''s departure had left Brooklyn disheartened and bitterly disappointed.
Sure, maybe Cordelia had her difficulties, but as friends, Brooklyn believed if she didn''t confide in her,
then she must not have considered her a true friend.
Brooklyn resigned from Lumos Enterprises before her wedding. She probably felt that if Cordelia, with
her capabilities, still pursued higher education, she would have to do the same. However, with the
arrival of a bunch of new postgrads and overseas returnees in her department and her slow promotion,
Brooklyn gradually lost the desire to continue working at Lumos Enterprises.
Coincidentally, Edwin''s gamingpany was hiring a new media operator, which was right up
Brooklyn''s alley. In a smallpany, academic credentials didn''t matter as much. Besides, she and
Edwin were passionately in love. Her status in thepany was guaranteed. All of Edwin''s assets
would likely be under her control, and she wouldn''t have to tiptoe around anyone. Brooklyn jumped
ship from Lumos Enterprises and joined Edwin''s gamingpany even before their wedding.
Ronan officiated their wedding.
Edwin was just one of the countless entrepreneurs with little fame in Millstone, but Ronan was different.
Many guests attended because of Ronan, such as Will and Hunter from PrimeBuild Contractors, who
had always wanted to coborate with Lumos Enterprises but never found the chance. They took the

opportunity to attend Edwin''s wedding, offering hefty gifts and making their presence felt in front of
Ronan.
However, Ronan remained expressionless throughout, his mind seemingly elsewhere. Watching the
newlyweds on stage, he thought about how he and Cordelia never had their wedding. Now that they
were divorced, there was no need for a ceremony.
A woman as heartless as her was indeed rare. Abandoning him was one thing, but her indifference
toward their child was unforgivable. She valued her studies more than him or their child.
He tried to erase Cordelia from his heart, but she seemed to grow in his heart like a cancer, consuming
it bit by bit.
Plus, his child bore a striking resemnce to her and was a constant reminder.
When Edwin and Brooklyn counted their wedding gifts, they found an unexpected surplus of several
hundred thousand dors. Edwin knew these extra guests weren''t there for him but for Ronan.
Previously, Ronan''s investment of 10 million in Edwin''spany had not gone to waste. Edwin
managed to strike a deal with Pulse Technologies to feature their game in an unpopr crime drama
series. Surprisingly, the show''s ratings skyrocketed, bing a smash hit and yielding significant
profits.
Although he earned money, Edwin never forgot about Ronan''s generosity. He viewed Ronan as a
trustworthy person, feeling a closer bond with him. He never voiced these thoughts, but he was grateful
for Ronan''s kindness.
Edwin knew Cordelia was Ronan''s one true love. Even though he once had feelings for Cordelia, they
were merely fleeting. He would never encroach upon Ronan''s territory, not in this life or the next.
Besides, Brooklyn was a lovely person, so, Edwin decided to marry Brooklyn.
Not long after their wedding, they had their first child, a boy. The child was named Andi, a name given
by Ronan, who was his godfather.
Brooklyn and Edwin often visited Ronan''s house, asionally asking about Cordelia.
Ronan only had one response. "Don''t mention her." He loathed her to the core.
