Chapter 365

    Chapter 365

It was quarter past five in the afternoon, and Ronan''s car was on the move.

"You''re going out of your way to drop me off? What''s up?" Emerson asked Ronan.

"I''m thinking of throwing a celebration party for my son''s christening. Will youe?”

Emerson replied, "Your son is my nephew. I wouldn''t miss it for the world."

Ronan chuckled. "The celebration is mainly to let everyone know I have a son. We didn''t do anything

when he was a month old."

    "But Cordelia..."

Emerson was cut off by Ronan. "The party will be at Starlight Hotel. What do you think?"

Emerson had a feeling that the celebration wasn''t just about the baby, but Ronan''s calm and confident

tone indicated that he had figured out his n. Emerson knew he wouldn''t be able to dissuade him.

    "When is it?"

    "This Saturday."

    "Okay. I''ll be there."

Just as their car entered a side road, a sudden brake was applied, bringing the vehicle to a halt.

"I''m sorry, Mr. Evans! The car in front just stopped abruptly." The driver apologized to Ronan.

The side road was narrow, and there was no other route. The driver impatiently honked the horn,

hoping the car in front would move. Then, a young woman got out of the car in front. She made an

apologetic gesture towards the car behind her and then ran over to talk to the driver.

The driver rolled down the window. "What''s the problem? Blocking the road like this is uneptable."

    He exploded.

"I''m sorry. My car broke down. I''ll have to call someone to fix it. Could you please take another route? I

know it''s not ideal, but I''m in a bit of a bind right now." The woman''s voice was soft and filled with

    regret.

"Mr. Evans, what do you think?" The driver asked.

"Just reverse and take a detour from the supermarket nearby," Ronan instructed.

    "Alright," The driver replied.

"Thank you," The woman said sweetly to Ronan in the back seat. Her bright smile and sparkling eyes

    were captivating.

The woman then hurried back to her own car. The driver managed to maneuver the car onto a curb and

into the supermarket''s parking lot, soon hitting the road again.

"Don''t you think that girl looks familiar?" Emerson asked Ronan.

"Who does she resemble?" Ronan asked, leaning back against the seat with his eyes closed.

Emerson wanted to say "Cordelia," but remembering how Ronan had cut him off earlier, he simply said,

"Oh, nevermind." He figured that the mention of Cordelia must have hit a nerve. Ronan didn''t want to

    discuss her anymore.

However, the girl did bear a striking resemnce to Cordelia. Although she wasn''t as delicate as

Cordelia, her youthful charm was unmistakable. Seeing her, one couldn''t help but think of Cordelia.

    N?velDrama.Org holds ? this.

Emerson thought that Ronan must have noticed it too, but in reality, Ronan hadn''t noticed at all.

He was too familiar with Cordelia, and so familiar that he knew every detail about her, so any slight

difference made him dismiss the resemnce.

"By the way, who''sing to the celebration? Let me know,” Emerson asked.

"You make the list of thepany attendees, and I''ll handle the rest,” Ronan replied.

"Sure." Emerson nodded. "What about Brooklyn?"

"If you think she should be invited, then invite her," Ronan said.

Emerson thought, “Ronan didn''t say to invite Brooklyn, but his implication was clear. It seemed that this

celebration was more about Cordelia than their son.”

He nned to inform Cordelia, who was far away in the States, about everything that was happening in

    Millstone, through Brooklyn.
