Chapter 352

    Chapter 352

"What''s up?" Ronan picked up on Cordelia''s worry.

Cordelia pointed towards the shop window. The name ''Petra'' caught Ronan''s eye.

"She''s teaching at Birchwood College?" Ronan mumbled to himself, taken aback. That was his former

    admirer.

A surge of jealousy swept over Cordelia. She grabbed Ronan''s hand. "Let''s go. We''re nevering

    back to Birchwood College."

Back at the hotel, Ronan teased Cordelia in bed, who kept a stiff expression, much to his amusement.

"Your ttery needs work, but your jealousy is top-notch." Ronan joked, making Cordelia frown.

"Exactly, I''m bad at sweet talk and good at being jealous." Cordelia retorted.

Ronan slipped his hand behind her head, pulling her up from the bed. "Show me, then!"

"Get lost!" Cordelia, a bit flustered, ran out of words before she could say what she wanted.

    .....

The following day, they checked out of the hotel at eleven. Cordelia maintained a stiff expression all the

way, but it was more yful than angry. Her head slightly tilted upwards.

Ronan drove, grinning all the way.

Back at Pearl Palms, they found Janice packing. Cordelia saw a familiar face, and her spirits lifted.

"You''re back, Janice? How did your son''s exams go?" Cordelia chatted with Janice in her room.

"He did well and started working right after his exams," Janice spoke cheerfully while folding clothes.

"Now that he''s in college, I''m hoping for a daughter-inw soon. Waiting till graduation is toote."

Cordelia burst intoughter. "Why the rush? Leave it to fate."

"You don''t understand, but my son is handsome, with his beautiful brown eyes. In high school, he

would receive love letters every day. After his final exams, we had a pile at home." Janice''s tone was

more worried than proud. "Having a boy like him, how could I not worry?"

"Janice, I think it''s more of bragging than worrying. I wish my son would be like that," Cordelia replied

    before heading upstairs.

She felt better after the small outing. Seeing Olen still stirred some difort within her, but it was

much better than the post-pregnancy phase.

The summer days were long. One evening at seven, after dinner, Janice was clearing some junk in the

    yard, ready to sell it.

The doorbell rang. It was Jamie and Marian. Cordelia was surprised to see them while Ronan sat

nonchntly on the couch. He had always disliked Jamie, and now that Cordelia had given birth, his

    disdain had only deepened.

Marian''s visit, under the guise of thanking Cordelia, was mainly to express her gratitude to Ronan.

"Cordelia, thanks to your advice, I went to Jamie''s office. I just wanted to thank you for showing me the

way. I have some work now. You have no idea how anxious I was without any projects. I was losing my

    hair," Marian said.

"That''s good." Cordelia nced at Jamie, who had his head bowed down, making her feel awkward.

Cordelia felt like a matchmaker. She brought together two people she considered perfect for each

other, just to solve her own problem.
