Chapter 324

    Chapter 324

Even though Deanna was not the culprit, she insisted on throwing baseless usations at Cordelia.

Deanna had nothing to lose; the case was closed, and the police wouldn''t charge her based solely on

her usations. But for Cordelia, who was carrying twins in a delicate condition, these usations

    could have serious consequences.

Cordelia was shaking, but she forced herself to stay calm. "Enough talk, Deanna. Leave. I already

    knew," Cordelia feignedposure.

With a huff, Deanna sashayed out, swinging her slender waist.

Cordelia felt herself falling apart. She had abdominal pain, a headache, and the urge to cry. She didn’t

know whose version of the truth was correct, Deanna''s or Ronan''s, but this time, she chose to believe

Deanna, who had confessed it herself.

Cordelia clutched her belly, leaning on the coffee table.

"Cordelia, what''s wrong?" Janice had returned.

"I''m fine," Cordelia insisted, as beads of sweat trickled onto the coffee table.

Janice swiftly called Tristi, urging her toe.

"It’s alright. I don''t need to go to the hospital," Cordelia protested.

"No, we can''t take risks this time."

In no time, Tristi arrived, and Janice helped Cordelia into the car. Janice also called Ronan while they

    were en route.

"Mr. Evans, Cordelia isn''t feeling well. She had sudden abdominal pain at the coffee shop. I think you

    should head to Victoria''s clinic."

By the time Cordelia arrived at the clinic, she was as pale as a sheet.

"Cordelia, what''s wrong?" Victoria steadied Cordelia. She ordered some blood tests and a sonogram

    for Cordelia.

Checking the results, Victoria became worried, and just then, Ronan arrived.

"What''s going on? You seem distressed, and one of the babies isn''t developing well. Cordelia, you

need to stay calm," Victoria advised. "This isn''t looking good."

"Which baby is it?" Cordelia asked.

    "The girl."

    This is from N?velDrama.Org.

Cordelia murmured, "The girl?" She was particrly attached to her unborn daughter.

"I''ll prescribe you some medication to stabilize your pregnancy. You need to take care of yourself and

stay positive," Victoria advised, turning to Ronan. "Mr. Evans, what''s going on? Last time, both babies

were fine. Cordelia''s stress is rted to you, isn''t it?"

"It''s my fault," Ronan admitted, putting his arm around Cordelia.

After helping Cordelia into the car, Janice and Ronan returned to Cordelia''s home. "What happened?"

Ronan asked, stroking Cordelia''s forehead. Rejecting his touch, Cordelia turned her face to the

    window, ignoring him.

Back at home, Cordelia went to rest, while Ronan sat by her bedside, stroking her hair. Janice went to

    prepare Cordelia''s medication.

"What exactly happened, Cordelia?" Ronan asked.

"I''m tired. I need to rest. Please leave, Mr. Evans," Cordelia replied coldly.

Ronan looked at her, but her eyes were already closed. He got up, called his assistant, and requested

to retrieve the CCTV footage from Starbucks.

"It''s not necessary. She came to me and confessed that it was indeed her who sent the package to

    Samantha, causing the fire."

    "You believe her?" Ronan asked.

"I chose to believe her. With your support, she''s slowly getting back on her feet. You''re very capable,

Mr. Evans," Cordelia said, pulling the nket over her head and starting to sob. "If you want to help

her, go ahead. The bond you two share is your business. Just keep me out of it! I''ve never had any

illusions about you, Mr. Evans. I''m just disappointed about my grandmother."

Seeing her sobbing under the nket, Ronan left the room. As he walked into the living room, Janice

    was bringing water.

"You were supposed to watch her. Why did you leave?" Ronan asked, his tone dark.

"Mr. Evans…" Janice felt wrongly used. She had always let Cordelia wait at Starbucks while she

went grocery shopping. It was tiring work, and it gave Cordelia a break.

"Fine, I need to step out," Ronan said and left.

Janice brought the water and medicine to Cordelia''s room. "Cordelia, it''s time for your medicine,"

    Janice said.

Cordelia sat up. Victoria had said the girl was at risk. She loved her unborn daughter and didn''t want to

lose her, so she would take her medication diligently.

    "I''ll take it." Cordelia said.

"Where is he?" After taking her medicine, Cordelia listened for any sounds in the living room. It was

    quiet.

"Mr. Evans? He stepped out. You should rest and take care of the babies. If anything happens to your

pregnancy, it will be my responsibility," Janiceforted Cordelia.
