Chapter 167

    Chapter 167

Seated in the living room were executives from Lumos Enterprises. It was a tradition for them to visit

    Ronan after Christmas every year.

Cordelia was clueless about this during her first visit to the Evans family, and Ronan didn''t bother to tell

    her either.

Her hair was ubed, her face unwashed, and with anguid coquettishness, she opened her mouth

to say, "Hi Ms. Emily, Mr. Emerson, Wyatt."

The room was full of executives. When everyone''s eyes turned to her, Cordelia awkwardly said, "I''ll just

grab a package at the door."

She beat a hasty retreat as if avoiding a gue. As she approached the living room door, she quickly

turned the garbage bag around in front of her.

So embarrassing, they must have seen it, given that the trash bag was transparent.

Cordelia, not having the time to put on her down jacket, bolted to the front door where the courier was

waiting. She first tossed the trash bag into the big bin next to her.

"Ms. Haselwood?" the courier asked Cordelia.

    "Yes."

    "Please check and sign."

In front of Cordelia was a big package. The delivery note read: dried flower products.

She was sure that Ronan would never send her such a thing. He was not a romantic guy and never

    gave her such presents.

    "Who sent this?" Cordelia asked.

"I don''t know, it was sent anonymously. But the sender''s address is Roseville."

The courier took out a huge teddy bear made of dried roses. It was really cute.

    "No damage, miss."

Cordelia signed. Suddenly, she remembered what Jamie had told her on Christmas. He said he would

    send her a gift.

She was startled. Was he really making such a joke with her? With all the executives in the living room

and Ronan being a jealous guy, wasn''t she asking for trouble?

Cordelia looked at the delivery note. The sender''s address was indeed Roseville and it was

anonymous. She decided to pretend she didn''t know it was from Jamie and pretended it was from

    Ronan.

"Ms. Haselwood, where should I put this?" the courier asked.

This is property ? of N?velDrama.Org.

"Well, just put it in the living room, thanks."

Cordelia nervously followed the courier into the living room. The courier put the flowers next to the TV.

"Thanks, honey. I love it." Cordelia grinned.

Ronan red at the bouquet, his eyes seemingly spitting fire. He definitely didn''t send the flowers. The

only one who would give a woman such a thing must be a man, and he had a hunch about who that

    man was.

Since the executives were present, despite the coldness in his eyes, he had to keep a smile, "d you

like it." He would settle ounts after the executives left.

"Thank you." Cordelia told Ronan. She nodded at the executives, indicating that she had just dealt with

the delivery and was going upstairs to wash her hands.

After all, she couldn''t chime in on the conversation of them.

"How are you going to thank me?" Ronan asked her.

Cordelia was slightly taken aback, "I also have a surprise prepared for you. Just wait for it."

    With that, Cordelia went upstairs.

"Ronan, judging by your trash bag, I don''t see you guys having kids even in ten years." Wyatt spread

his hands, "Seems like Cordelia is all about her career."

Emerson also chuckled, "Ronan, we all saw it. You''re quite a stud."

The vulgar joke by the group of men made Ms. Emily feel extremely embarrassed.

"I see Cordelia in a red dress. It suits her. She''s 24 this year, right?" Ms. Emily asked Ronan.

"Yes, she''s twenty-four this year." Ronan answered.

His mind was still on "who sent her that bear".

"I see." Ms. Emily smiled knowingly.

The executives didn''t have lunch at Ronan''s. At noon, they all left.

Ronan went upstairs. Cordelia was lying in bed, busy with her phone.

"Are you texting?" Ronan asked with a frown.

"No, I''m ordering something for you online, just a token of gratitude."

No matter what happened today, Cordelia would say, the flowers were from Ronan. She didn''t think of

anyone else, and nor would she hope for anyone else.

"Cordelia, don''t y smart with me." Ronan pressed Cordelia down, staring at her intently.

"What did I do wrong? Isn''t the bouquet from you? I can''t think of anyone else." Cordelia went pale,

    feeling a bit guilty.

"If you like him, go be with him. I won''t stop you." Ronan hoarsely muttered this sentence.

"What do you mean by that? You know Barney’s condition doesn''t allow this."

"So when grandpa''s condition is better, you''ll really be with him, right?" Ronan grabbed Cordelia''s chin.

Cordelia didn''t mean that. Upon hearing this, she felt choked up and thought: What kind of person was

he? He was so intimate with Deannast night. He could flirt around, but she couldn''t have male

    friends?

She was moved by his appearance in the snowst night. Now he showed his true colors again,

vengeful and petty. So she wouldn''t exin, and nor would she appease him.

"Cordelia, dinner''s ready." Shelley called Cordelia from downstairs.

"My mom''s calling me." With that, Cordelia pushed Ronan away and went downstairs.
