Chapter 106

    Chapter 106

As soon as Ronan mentioned cream pasta and fried steak, Cordelia''s mind began to wander. Another

person, someone she knew, was particrly fond of these two dishes as well.

Tomorrow, Cordelia nned to visit this person, but she didn''t share this n with Ronan.

When she arrived at the office, the first thing Cordelia did was to transfer some money to Jamie. It was

the money she had borrowed from Ronan to buy aputer, and she hadn''t spent a dime of it. Then,

she sent back The CPA Sess Blueprint and the notes on financial management that Jamie had

given her, indicating that she had settled her debt with him.

She sent Ronan a message with the transfer record and the tracking number of the package and then

    wrote two words. [All clear.]

    Ronan''s reply was short. [Good.]

Even though there had been no issue of debt between her and Jamie before, this "all clear" was more

of an expression of Cordelia''s attitude.

She was afraid that one day, Ronan would put her in a position where she couldn''t get herself out.

For the first time, Cordelia brought her own homemade food to the office. At lunchtime, she couldn''t

help but post a photo of her lunch on Facebook.

    Ronanmented. [Don''t forget about tomorrow.]

Cordelia responded with an "OK" hand sign emoji.

The post, unsurprisingly, received a lot of likes from her coworkers—this was the first time Ronan had

evermented on someone else''s Instagram post.

All her colleagues who was her friends on Facebook, naturally, liked the post as well.

That night, Cordelia prepared the meals and made roast beef, chicken breast, and fried steak for

Ronan the next day. Plus, she also prepared some coffee for him.

She didn''t make lunch for herself, as she nned to take the day off.

When Ronan saw there was only one lunch on the table, he asked, "Where''s my lunch?"

"Darling, this is your lunch. I took the day off yesterday. I need to visit a ssmate today."

    "A ssmate?" Ronan frowned.

"Yes, I''m not lying this time." Cordelia said pitifully.

"Go ahead then." Perhaps due to the incidents of the previous day, Ronan knew Cordelia wouldn''t do

    Belonging to N?velDrama.Org.

    anything outrageous.

Cordelia felt a huge weight off her shoulders. She didn''t leave with Ronan, instead, she took the bus

alone to the cemetery where her father, Castiel, was buried. It had been six years.

Cordelia ced a bunch of daisies on her father''s grave. She had a lot she wanted to say to him.

"Dad, I''m here to see you. It''s been a while." Cordelia said, tears rolling down her cheeks. When both

her parents were alive, she was a very happy child. "Before you died, you told me to keep an eye on

that guy. I''ve been watching him for you, making sure he doesn''t abuse your eyes. He may be a bit

harsh and looks down on people sometimes, but I believe he won''t do anything bad. You asked me not

to tell him, so he wouldn''t feel guilty all his life. I hope he can live a righteous life, not in the shadows.

I''ve been doing just that. Especially now, with our rtionship, I can''t tell him. Dad, there''s one more

thing. The creamy pasta and fried steak you loved, he loves them too. Dad, do you think he liked them

before? Or did he start liking them after he got your eyes? I''m not sure."

At this point, Cordelia couldn''t control her tears, and she was bothughing and crying.

“Actually, Adrian wanted to see you too. He''s just too busy with work, and he doesn''t have time."

Cordelia made excuses for him. Ever since her father passed away, Adrian had never visited. He felt

that their father had left him nothing but a vegetative patient to take care of. Cordelia knew all this, so

on the anniversary of their father''s death, she didn''t call Adrian over, fearing his presence would

    unsettle their father.

Looking at her father''s tombstone, Cordelia stood there for a long time. Of all her rtives in the world,

her parents couldn''t respond to her anymore, and her brother was always against her, which made

    Cordelia feel very cold.

As soon as she got on the bus leaving the cemetery, Cordelia''s phone rang. It was Adrian.

"Do you remember that today is Dad''s death anniversary?" Cordelia asked angrily.

"Today is dad''s death anniversary? I don''t care! Get over here!" Adrian, seemingly not caring at all,

ordered Cordelia around. He seemed to be very angry, not even showing up on their father''s death

anniversary, but still managing to be mad. What a joke!

"What is it?" Cordelia was very unhappy. Thinking of thest time her brother drugged her, she decided

    not to go.

"I won''t harm you this time! I''m at the café, even if I wanted to, there are cameras here. I don''t want to

go to jail! I''ve sent you the location, hurry up." Adrian hung up after saying that.

Cordelia looked at the time and found that it wasn''t even noon yet, so she went to the café Adrian

    mentioned.

There was a book and a notebook on Adrian''s table, the book was Jamie''s The CPA Sess

Blueprint, and the notebook she recognized as the one about cost management in finance. So, Adrian

    was here for Jamie.

"What did Jamie do to you? He has already paid for the clothes." Adrian interrogated Cordelia, tapping

    on the table.

"If he paid, just say he paid. Why did he say my husband paid? Is he my husband?" Cordelia''s eyes

were still red. "Today is dad''s death anniversary. Do you know that?"

Adrian coldly turned his head away. "He didn''t acknowledge me as his son, so I don''t acknowledge him

    as my dad!"

    "You..." Cordelia''s eyes reddened.
