Chapter 100

    Chapter 100

Cordelia stood there for a long time, zoned out, until Brooklyn called her out of it.

"What did she chat with you about? Don''t let her words get to you." Brooklyn warned Cordelia.

"She said I looked shabby." Cordelia casually replied.

"Come on, let''s go shopping. Let''s use Mr. Evans'' money. That''s what he gets for keeping a mistress!"

Even though Brooklyn also knew not to fully trust Deanna''s words, the house was indeed Ronan''s, and

Deanna probably wouldn''t lie about that.

Pissed off, Cordelia and Brooklyn hopped into a car and went to a mall. They didn''t go to Lumos

Enterprises. They did not want to spend Ronan''s money at his own store, because wouldn''t that be just

    making him richer?

Without hesitation, Cordelia shot Ronan a text. [Need money to buy clothes!]

It''d been a while since Ronan had given Cordelia any money. Upon receiving Cordelia''s message, he

was a bit puzzled, but he still asked. [How much?]

    [Twenty grand.]

In no time, Cordelia received a transfer of twenty thousand. She didn''t expect Ronan to be so

    generous.

Unlike Brooklyn, besides being angry that Ronan was keeping a mistress, Cordelia was more upset

that he didn''t mention the past. He only knew the cornea wasn''t his, but didn''t know about the person

    who donated the cornea.

Cordelia felt like crying. She bought a lot of clothes in the mall, all high-end brands, each piece costing

    several thousand dors.

When she got home, she was wearing a high-end cashmere sweater and a miniskirt, with high leather

boots on her feet, and her hands full of shopping bags.

Ronan was sitting on the sofa downstairs, reading a book. One look at the bags in Cordelia''s hands,

and Ronan knew they were expensive.

"What? You want me to wear a two-hundred-dor shirt, while you buy such expensive clothes?"

Ronan teased Cordelia, joking around with her.

Cordelia ignored him, went straight upstairs, and started crying on her bed, feeling sorry for her father.

But she knew, even if she felt sorry, she couldn''t bring it up with Ronan because her father told her not

to, and Ronan wouldn''t like it. Besides, his affair with Deanna was a long-standing issue, whether

Cordelia was there or not, it wouldn''t affect their rtionship. Cordelia was just a tool, to be tossed

aside once she''d outlived her usefulness.

"Who''s been messing with my girl? Spill." Ronan walked upstairs, and put his book on the side table

next to the sofa, acting all high and mighty.

Cordelia knew she couldn''t utter a word about the unfairness she''d suffered tonight, or she''d seem

    petty.

"Nothing." Cordelia wiped her tears, sat on the bed, knees curled up, and picked up a book pretending

    to read.

    All text ? N?velD(r)a''ma.Org.

"Not talking?" Ronan asked again, his tone getting heavier.

"Stop asking." Cordelia''s voice was hoarse from crying, and she even lifted her arm to wipe more tears,

    looking pitiful.

Ronan picked up his phone and called Edwin.

"What happened tonight? Why did my wifee back crying?" Ronan questioned.

"Crying?" Edwin was taken aback. "She wasn''t treated unfairly or anything. What''s going on? Did she

have an unpleasant encounter on the road?"

Ronan nced at Cordelia, she seemed to be pretending to read, but she hadn''t flipped a page for a

    while and was still sobbing.

"Where do you live?" Ronan thought for a moment, then asked.

"Me? I live in Sunnydale Meadows on Peace Avenue."

Ronan hung up and it all clicked. She probably ran into Deanna, who might have told Cordelia she was

living in Ronan''s house and even teased her about being poor. That''s why Cordelia needed money for

    clothes.

Ronan texted his assistant to sort some things out the next morning and to get Deanna to go as well.

The next day, Ronan took Cordelia to the property management bureau.

Cordelia nned to change into her usual clothes, but Ronan said, "No need to change, just wear what

    you worest night."

Cordelia could only follow Ronan''s instructions. She had cried so muchst night that her eyes were

swollen. Now she was being led by Ronan, not knowing where he was taking her, but she didn''t ask

    any questions.

    At the property management bureau.

Deanna and her mother Le were already there, Ronan''s assistant had informed them toe and

    handle the Property Deed today.

They spected that Ronan might have been transferring the house to them. Deanna was even

thinking, if the house was under her name, then she couldn''t be said to be living in Ronan''s house

anymore. She didn''t know what Cordelia told Ronanst night that led him to make this decision today.

But Deanna thought it wasn''t bad. Ronan transferring the house to her meant Cordelia was starting to

care about her, and that was all that mattered.

Ronan came with Cordelia, who had obviously been crying.

Deanna was gloating; it seemed like Cordelia was really jealous. She noticed Cordelia''s outfit, it was no

longer the shabby attire fromst night, but very stylish and eye-catching.

Deanna was also deceiving herself. If she didn''t dress up, how could Ronan be infatuated with her?

"Add my wife''s name to the deed for the house on Peace Avenue," Ronan told the property

    management bureau.

Cordelia was shocked, and she looked at Ronan with confusion, not understanding what was

    happening.

Deanna and Le were even more surprised; the situation hadpletely exceeded their expectations.
