Chapter 461 Milk Spilled
Kailey sobbed. As time went, her wailing became harder. She pretended like she couldn''t bring
herself to stop crying. But inside her heart, she was secretly celebrating her victory.
In the living room, Jonathan was intently gazing at the book in his hand. It was a name book and
contained all the best names for a newborn. His spectacles had begun to slide down from the
bridge of his nose. "If it''s a boy, we will name him Adrian Fu. And if it''s a girl, Yvette Fu. What do
you all say?" he asked, looking at the three of them.
"No!" Tracy replied instantly. "These names are too ordinary. I think it''s better if we stick to the name
I rmended. Moreover, it is the sort of name that will suit both girls and boys."
Jonathan frowned and snorted, disagreeing. "Do you actually think the one you rmended is
good? I am warning you, people willugh at our grandchild. Do you want everyone to mock us and
call us uneducated?"
By now, Tracy was annoyed. "You are so old-fashioned! It is quite a popr name and you must be
living under the rock if you haven''t heard of it. Also, the way you are hunting down names from a
book is ridiculous. Nobody does it these days. Forget it! Arguing with you is pointless." The two
people had their own opinions, and didn''t show any signs ofing to an agreement.
The corners of Rachel''s mouth twitched. She looked at Jack and saw a trace of helplessness in his
eyes.
Tracy had suggested the name Leslie saying that her close friend''s grandchild had the same name.
To convince them, she told them it meant the garden of hollies.
Rachel had to admit that the meaning was indeed appealing.
However, this name came across as tooical to Jonathan.
After thinking it through, Rachel realized the ones Jonathan had rmended was better. It would
be odd to name a boy Leslie.
Yet she couldn''t add fuel to the fire by refuting to Tracy''s suggestion.
Seeing that Jonathan and Tracy were silent, Rachel smiled and turned to her mother-inw. "The
baby hasn''te out yet. It''s a little too early for us to think about its name. My colleagues in the
hospital didn''t name their babies until they were born. We could consider baby''s birth time before
we finalize."
As she spoke, she observed the expression on Tracy''s face. Seeing that Tracy didn''t seem to agree
with what she had just said, Rachel quickly added, "They said that it''s better for the baby. As
parents, we should do what is best for them, right?"
Hearing that it was about her grandchild, Tracy nodded and said, "Yes, it''s better to match the name
to its birth time."
She patted on Rachel''s back and rxed a bit. "I guess we can end this discussion here and start
after the baby is born," Tracy announced.
"Okay." With a slight smile at the corners of her mouth, Rachel breathed a sigh of relief. Sitting next
to her, Jack patted her on her shoulder and said in a low voice that could only be heard by the two
of them, "You have solved the problem quite smartly."
The corners of Rachel''s mouth twitched once again. She moved her shoulder and shook off his
hand.
Seeing he wasplimenting her, she felt a bit shy. She didn''t want his praise.
Noticing her difort at being praised, Jack couldn''t help but smile. Rachel hadn''t officially
forgiven him, but he believed everything was going to be fine in the end. Every now and then, he
would hold her hand, only to have it pushed by her. But he knew she loved him back.
"Well, it''s gettingte. Let''s go back now." Holding his crutch, Jonathan stood up and winked at
Tracy. Tracy took a look at him, nodded and followed him with a smile. When she reached near the
door, she turned her head and said, "Rachel, you should go to bed early."
After spending a lot of time with Rachel in the past two days, Tracy had formed a good impression
of her. And now, she couldn''t help but wonder why she had an issue with Rachel in the past. She
was a wless girl.
Being calm, sensible and generous, she had everything that would make a good daughter-inw.
Tracy was convinced the Fu family couldn''t have asked for a better daughter-inw.
Moreover, her son was not good-tempered. When he was in a bad temper, he reacted without
thinking. It was only because of Rachel''s calm and patient nature that their marriage could work. If it
had been someone else, Tracy was certain it would have ended up in divorce.
Just the thought of it put her in a gloomy mood.
Thinking about this, Tracy couldn''t help but frown.
"What''s wrong?" Jonathan asked sensing her worry.
Tracy pulled his arm and sighed. "Old man, I am lucky to have you. Without you, I am sure this Fu
family wouldn''t have held up. You are the glue holding us together," she said genuinely. It was
nothing but the truth. Jonathan was a man who always had his temper under control. From the very
beginning, he knew Rachel was the one for Jack.
Hearing this, Jonathan was stunned. Tracy wasn''t the kind of woman who wouldvishly give
compliments. His eyes suddenly widened. First, he wanted to ask her if she was okay. But he
realized it was better to not dwell on it. "Yes, " he said.
Tracy frowned at his nd response and patted him on the arm. But the second she withdrew her
hand, she heard a songing out of his mouth. It was both of their favorite song. Hearing
Jonathan sing it brought a smile to her face.
Even after living together for so many years, he behaved so romantically.
Now that they had left, Rachel sat on the sofa for a while before she stood up and walked to the
kitchen.
Jack hurriedly asked, "Don''t you want to go upstairs?"
"I''m going to make a ss of milk." Rachel raised her hand to press her right eye. Somehow, her
right eyelid kept twitching after dinner.
"Let me help you." Jack followed her and walked into the kitchen quickly. He took out a ss from
the cupboard, poured two spoons of milk powder and added some hot water. Then he stirred it with
a spoon. The water temperature was a little high, so he gently blew it. Looking at his serious face,
Rachel couldn''t help but feel love for him. She found it hard to peel her eyes off his face.
When Jack looked up, he noticed she was
gazing at him. Smiling naughtily, he deliberately asked, "Is there anything dirty on my face?"
"No." Rachel turned her face from him in a
hurry. But her red ears betrayed her emotions.
Jack chuckled. One second she was cold and tough, the next second she was shy. This was what
he loved about Rachel. She was all in one.
Teasing her was something he had missed doing for a while. Now that their old days were
returning, he was starting to feel happy.
When she heard hisughter, Rachel realized he was taunting her. Biting her lower lip, she looked
up at him angrily. But the faint flush on her face was present. With her crimson cheeks, it was hard
to take her anger seriously.
"It isn''t too hot anymore. Drink it." Jack handed her the ss of milk.
Rachel reached out to take it, but suddenly, with a bang, the cup fell on the floor. The milk sshed
on their legs.
Reacting quickly, he pulled Rachel aside. Gazing at her wet feet, he asked, "Are you all right? Did
the pieces of ss get on you? Did you burn yourself?" "The milk is not even hot. And about the
ss, it hasn''t reached my legs." Rachel looked at him uneasily. She didn''t know why she didn''t
held the cup when he passed it to her.
Looking at the mess on the floor, Rachel sighed and said, "I''ll go get a broom to clean this up."

"No, don''t do it. Go upstairs and take a shower first. This milk is all over you. It could get sticky.
Please get changed." Jack took her hand and nudged her to go upstairs. Then he went back to the
kitchen, squatted down and picked up the debris on the floor with his bare hands.
Rachel turned around and stared at his back. He was meticulously working on the mess she had
created.
After a while, she continued to make her way upstairs. But suddenly, she heard a muffled moan.
Although it was barely audible, Rachel''s sharp ears had heard it.
She turned around and went back to the kitchen, only to find Jack pressing his right index finger.
Blood began to drip on the floor. His expression told her he was in pain.
Rachel wanted to squat down, but her big belly made it impossible for her to do so. She had to bend
down and hold his hand. Frowning, she said, "Get up. I''ll help you deal with the wound."
"Don''t worry. It''s just a minor cut. I''ll fix it with a band aid." Jack pretended like it was no big deal.
Smiling at her, he said, "You go and take a shower first. I''m okay."
The cut was a little deep. Even now, it hadn''t stopped bleeding. If anything, the flow increased.
Rachel flinched seeing it. After all, it was all her fault.
In a strict tone, she said, "Jack, do you want your blood to run out and your hand to be crippled? Or
will you let me see it?"
"Okay, fine." Jack nodded his head and let her inspect it.
Rolling her eyes at him, she stood up and walked to the living room. Jack followed her. Seeing her
get a hold of medicine box from the cab, he quickly said, "I can handle it myself."
Rachel didn''t answer. Instead, she put the medicine box on the tea table and ordered, "Sit down."
"Okay." He was now an obedient patient. Seeing her like this, he didn''t dare to refuse. He stretched
out his injured hand, frowned and let Rachel do her job. She carefully cleaned his wound with
alcohol cotton, and then picked up a piece of medium-sized gauze.
After analyzing his finger, she realized the gauze was a little too big for him. Rachel rummaged
through the medicine box for scissors but she couldn''t find them. When she was about to stand up,
Jack held her hand. He gently pulled her and fell back on the sofa.
"What are you doing?" Frowning, Rachel tried to pull free from him. But after two failed attempts,
she gave up.
Jack looked straight into her eyes with his dark eyes. "Rachel, are you worried about me? Is that
why you came back in a hurry?"
Lowering her head, she lied, "No."
