    Rachel walked to the bedside. She put the pillow aside and smiled, "You''re pregnant. Why are you


    still so angry? When I came in just now, I saw the grievance on Henry''s face."


    "Grievance?" Lea repeated in disbelief and curled her lips. Pretending to stretch her neck, she


    faced the door and asked in a loud voice, "How could a selfish person show his grievance?"


    Rachel wasn''t sure what to feel with that. Should sheugh or cry? She held her hand and said,


    "What did he do? How could he be selfish?"


    "I just asked him something about Jack. He said it was your business and that I should stay out of it.


    Well, what are friends for? How can I just sit by and do nothing at this time?" Lea rambled angrily,


    only realizing that she might have crossed a line when she noticed Rachel''s expression suddenly


    darkening.


    She was remorseful for the slip up and it showed on her face. She smiled awkwardly and said,


    "Rachel, I just said it casually. Don''t take it to heart."


    Smiling lightly, Rachel reached for her bag and took out a box of choctes. She gave it to Rita who


    was listening to them even though she couldn''t understand what the adults were saying. She


    warmly looked at the child and told her, "Rita, go to your dad. I have something to tell your mom."


    "Why? Can''t I stay and listen?" She curiously looked at Rachel with her round eyes.


    Rachel moved closer and stroked Rita''s soft hair. "You can listen to it when you grow up. It''s not the


    time yet."


    "But when will I grow up?" Rita asked again, holding the box of choctes tightly with her hands,


    still unwilling to go out.


    Lea, who was growing anxious, raised her voice. "If you don''t go out, you have to give the


    choctes back to Rachel."


    "Mommy is so aggressive." Sulking and pouting, Rita looked down at the choctes in her hand


    seemingly still reluctant to leave. Finally, she turned around and went out obediently.


    Rachel pulled a chair over and sat down. Taking the time to find the right words, she smoothed the


    hair on her forehead and slowly exined, "Lea, here''s the thing. Jack and I don''t see things the


    same way. We''re different so can''t be together anyway. You don''t have to fight with Henry just


    because of me."


    Lea moved to her side. "How can you be different? Why didn''t you notice this right at the


    beginning?" "Maybe we made a mistake back then. But now we know that we are not suitable for


    each other. " Rachel looked calm on the outside but what she said made her heart twitch.


    Acknowledging the truth hurt and it felt as if the air around her had been drained all of a sudden.

    attention to yourself?"


    Speaking of her situation, Lea looked at her still t belly and sighed slightly. "The doctor said that


    my condition isn''t very stable. He insisted that I stay in the hospital for a few days, but I don''t want


    to do that. I want to go home. The disinfectant here makes me ufortable."


    Rachel probed for more information. "What did the doctor say?"


    "The doctor said I can go home but I should go to the hospital the moment I feel ufortable.


    Lea had to stay in the ward for the night, so Rachel kept herpany and they chatted for a while.


    When it was about 8 p.m., Rachel realized she hadn''t had dinner yet.


    She stood up with a smile. "It''ste. I''ll go back first. Take care and have a good rest." Coming out

    coming from behind. "Aunt Rachel."

    "Gary? What are you doing here?"


    Jimmy, who was following closely behind, smiled helplessly. "He had a meal at home and


    comined that his teeth hurt. I was worried that he got hurt in the fight this afternoon, so I took him


    to the hospital."


    "So what did the doctor say?"


    Gary rushed to exin before his father could say anything, "The doctor said I was just about to


    grow permanent teeth."


    "Well that''s a good thing. You''re growing up." Rachel chuckled.


    As soon as she finished speaking, someone came up to her side. It was a woman d in in


    clothes. "Miss, I''m sorry to disturb you. I just want to ask if you know how to get to the neurosurgery


    department?"


    Rachel pointed at the second building in front of her. "Walk there and enter the blue door at the

    So Rachel took this chance to wave at him and indicate that she wanted a ride. She smiled and


    looked at Jimmy. "It''s too troublesome for you to drive me home. I can just take this taxi."


    "Okay, see you then." Jimmy smiled faintly albeit a little disappointed.


    Gary pulled his finger to get his attention. "Dad, can Aunt Rachel be my mother?"


    Jimmy didn''t answer. Instead, he rubbed his hair with a bitter smile.


    Rachel didn''t feel any hunger for the whole night but it finally hit her when she got home. She went


    to the kitchen and made a simple bowl of noodles for herself. Julie came out of her room just as


    Rachel finished putting the food on the table.


    Seeing that she had just sat down with chopsticks, Julie couldn''t help but feel shocked. "Miss, you


    haven''t had dinner yet?"


    "No, it''s my night snack. I''m feeling little hungry now," Rachel answered vaguely and drank a bowl of


    hot soup. That first sip made her feel much better.


    While she was eating, she watched Julie go back to her room. She was holding a package when


    she got back. "After you went out this afternoon, a package was delivered for you."


    "Do you know who sent it?" Rachel took a piece of tissue and wiped her mouth. She then took the


    box from Julie and shook it twice. It was very light and almost weightless.


    She put it on the table before looking for a small knife. She cut the tape on the edge and saw a


    pajama lying inside once she opened it fully. Finally taking it out of the box, she realized it was a


    lace nightdress. A sexy and transparent nightdress.


    Rachel put it back in the box with a confused expression. She couldn''t understand why someone


    would give that to her.


    Julie covered her mouth andughed happily. "Miss, Mr. Jack must have gifted it to you."


    ''Could it really be him?''


    Frowning, Rachel didn''t answer. Her rtionship with Jack had been so bad for a long time now.


    How could he still do something like this? As if that was not enough, her big belly wasn''t even


    considered. The size was simply not suitable for her right now.


    She felt that it was most likely sent to the wrong person.


    She felt like he meant to give it to another woman. She returned the box to Julie and said, "Put it


    away. Maybe someone wille to take it back tomorrow."


    The next morning, Rachel heard the sound of a break from the yard when she went downstairs.


    After a while, Jack came in and asked in a deep voice, "Julie, where is my package?"


    He nced at Rachel and smiled. Then coldly, he asked, "Did you take it thinking that it was


    yours?"


    But Rachel didn''t reply. She lowered her head and began organizing the things she would send to


    Lea.


    Hearing themotion, Julie went to her room and brought out the box. She exined hurriedly,


    "The courier sent it here yesterday. I thought it was for Miss Shen so I opened it."


    Hearing that she took the me, Rachel looked at her with gratitude. Julie saved her.


    "Since you already opened it, forget it. Just throw it away."


    Rachel couldn''t help but sneer when she heard his words. "Jack, you''re not young anymore. It''s


    about time you stop doing such boring and childish things."


    It was like something shifted. Her words made the air a little stiff.


    Rachel picked up her bag and walked away without looking back.


    Jack''s face suddenly grew dim. He threw the box angrily. He actually bought this pajama on


    purpose just to irritate Rachel.


    His heart became full of resentment when he saw her standing next to Jimmy. He didn''t know what


    was going on. All he knew was he was so mad that he became irrational. He couldn''t think straight


    so he did such a thing! But what made him more embarrassed was that Rachel saw through his


    actions.


    Julie was startled. She looked at the destroyed box with her eyes wide open in shock.


    After signing in for duty and informing her colleagues, Rachel went to Lea''s ward. Lea ordered


    Henry to pack up while leaning against the bed. She scolded him from time to time, but he didn''t


    argue back. He just continued on gathering their things instead of defending himself.
