Affinities

Damn it that''s not fair Liv if you didn''t steal that last kill from me, I would have won, and you know it well we made no rules except who had the most kills won so i won stop complaining.

We have to find some where to rest before more beasts or maybe even monsters find us and those beasts were just at the feral stage, so they were most likely just scouts for the stronger ones in the pack that''s why they barley had any Intelligence and where so weak. she said while putting her sword back in her shadow.

Okay but what''s that sword why does it look like that how did you make it and what did it do to those wolves Arthur asked.

Olivia walked beside him in the snow searching for a cave to rest in before they go and challenge the boss of the fiftieth floor, her pink eyes gleaming with amusement "with my darkness affinity, i learned a spell to shape darkness into any shape i want as long as i have the mana.

So, I made a sword with the darkness from my shadow and then made the darkness like a poison with my poison affinity so when i cut then the darkness went into their veins stopping their hearts.

Ok but can you explain to me what an affinity is so i can get a better understanding of what you just said, as they were walking, and Arthur asked this question Olivia suddenly stopped walk and turned around staring to stare at him a confused look on her face.

What do you mean explain affinities do you not know what affinities are, of course I don''t know I''ve been on the run half my life and the other half I''ve been a slave so how would i know and if i did why would i ask you to tell me what they are Arthur said with a questioning look on his face.

Olivia''s expression softened, its just that most people have to have at least a entry level understanding of their affinities to make the passed the innate stage but you don''t even know what an affinity is that makes you even more of a genius then i thought.

"Alright, I''ll explain. An affinity is a magical connection to a specific element or concept. It''s like a... a resonance that allows us to tap into and manipulate that element. For example, my darkness affinity lets me control and manipulate darkness. My poison affinity lets me create and manipulate toxins."

Arthur''s eyes widened in understanding. "So, it''s like a natural talent for magic?"

Olivia nodded. "Exactly. But even if you don''t have an affinity for a specific element, you can still use it as long as you have an understanding of it. You just won''t be as skilled or efficient as someone with an affinity. For instance, I could try to use fire magic, but it would be much harder for me and probably not as effective as someone with a fire affinity."

Arthur''s gaze turned thoughtful, and he nodded. "I think I understand now. Thanks for explaining it to me, Liv." I wonder what''s my affinity status:

Six!!! hey Olivia, you said having more than one affinity is rare right, yeah why, so how rare is it for someone to have six of them.

Olivia''s expression turned serious Art, it''s impossible I''ve never heard of anyone having more than four affinities even that is extremely rare.

Since having so many it''s so rare I''ll just start learning how to use them one at a time so for now let''s start with gravity he said to himself

As soon as he made his decision Olivia pointed ahead look Arthur a cave!! we can take shelter there until we''re all rested up

As they entered the cave, the air grew thick with the stench of damp earth and decaying flesh. The walls of the cave were rough and rocky, the ground uneven and treacherous. The only light came from a small opening in the ceiling, casting a faint, eerie glow over the scene.

Arthur''s eyes adjusted to the dim light, and he saw that they were surrounded by a pack of snow wolves, their eyes glowing like embers in the dark. There were at least a dozen of them, their fur a thick, white coat that seemed to glow in the faint light.

Olivia reached into her shadow and pulled back out the sword made of darkness, its blade seeming to absorb the light around it. "I''ll take care of the ones on the left. You take the ones on the right," she said, her voice low and deadly.

Arthur nodded; his eyes fixed on the wolves. He could see that they were in the feral stage, just like the previous pack they had encountered. They were big, powerful, and ferocious, but they lacked the cunning and intelligence of a truly powerful beast.

Arthur''s nails extended back into his claws, and he smiled, a cold, calculating smile. He raised his hand, and the air around him seemed to thicken, the ground beneath his feet feeling heavier.

The wolves, sensing the change in gravity, stumbled and fell. Arthur took advantage of the momentary distraction, focusing his gravity affinity on the first wolf.

The wolf''s body began to compress, its fur flattening against its skin. Its bones creaked and groaned, the sound echoing through the cave like a sickening crunch. The wolf''s eyes bulged, its tongue lolling out of its mouth as it struggled to breathe.

And then, in an instant, the wolf''s body collapsed, its bones shattering like fragile twigs. The sound was like a wet crunch, the wolf''s body imploding into a puddle of blood and fur.

The other wolves, sensing their pack mate''s demise, let out a chorus of snarls and growls. They charged at Arthur; their jaws open wide.

But Arthur was relentless, his gravity affinity crushing the wolves one by one. He focused on each wolf, his power intensifying until their bodies were nothing more than bloody, mangled messes.

The cave was filled with the sound of crunching bones, the smell of blood and fur hanging heavy in the air. Arthur''s power was like a force of nature, unstoppable and unyielding.

And when it was all over, the cave was silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of Arthur and Olivia. The wolves lay at their feet, their bodies crushed and broken.

Olivia turned to Arthur; her eyes wide you have a gravity affinity? she said with a questioning look on her face

Arthur smiled, his chest heaving with exertion. Yeah I just found out too he said with a wide smile on his face.
