A wizard's humble story.
[ warning: The protagonist is not a good person whatsoever and will do a lot of things that might make you hate him. This story is not for the faint of heart, as it features some mentions of suicide, very realistic slavery, and an unimaginably cruel world that is disguised to look nice under its highly fantastical setting. There are traditional fantasy creatures in this story, but there are also some that you might not have seen. ]Tom Marilyn Kaczynski was an unremarkable man who died in a brutal attack, bleeding out on the ground as some panicked bystanders looked on. His death should have been the end, but instead, Tom awakens in a coffin, terrified and inexplicably alive. As he struggles to understand what's happening, a guiding voice that sounds briefly similar to that of his mother instructs him to open his eyes, and after he does, he has an encounter with the literal embodiment of death.Death reveals that Tom has been dead for three years and that his father and the rest of his family never even batted an eye at the death of their own, offering a second chance, though, to be reincarnated into a new existence or face eternal suffering in a lake of fire. He accepts, having had no real choice in the matter to begin with. And so starts the life of an elf at the outskirts of a backwater village, whose inhabitants are barely making ends meet.I despise op MC so don't expect that. It's a realistic take, on how a real human would act if they were reincarnated.
