Chapter 403 Talking About The Marriage With His Future Mother-In-Law (Part One)

After finishing her words, Ca immediately pushed away Terence, who was pressing on her. She

quickly put on her clothes and walked towards the door.

She was already several steps away when she turned back to Terence and found him still standing in

    the same ce.

She rushed to him and pulled him by his hand to the door.

    "Why are you stopping me?"

asked Ca when Terence stopped her all of a sudden. They were already walking out of the room and

    were about to go downstairs.

Terence didn''t intend to lie to her and answered honestly, "I was nning to let you go out first."

Only then did Ca realize what he was trying to say. However, it was toote for her to take any

    action.

Andrea was sitting before the table when she noticed them standing on the stairs. Thus, she coughed

to let the two know of her presence. She then gazed at them.

Ca reached up to tie her messy hair and then smoothed her crumpled clothes with her palm as quick

as she could. A bit flustered, she red at Terence and thought, ''Why didn''t he tell me this earlier?

    Now it''s very embarrassing!''

"Well,e and sit with me, guys. It''s time to eat," said Andrea while pointing to the chairs next to her.

Ca and Terence walked to the table and took their seats.

One of Ca''s habits was to drink something before she ate. However, she almost sprayed the water in

her mouth the moment she nced at the pile of gifts above the table.

She told Terence not toe empty-handed, but she didn''t tell him to buy the mall!

The gifts almost upied the whole table.

Noticing Ca''s reaction, Andrea smiled at Terence and said in a pleased tone, "You''re so kind to bring

these many gifts. Next time, juste here directly, okay? You don''t need to bother yourself bringing

    so many things."

In truth, Andrea just said that out of politeness. She was actually very satisfied and pleased with

    Terence, her future son-inw.

The more gifts he brought, the more it disyed how much he loved and cherished Ca.

"Not at all. There is still a lot in the ne and these are just some that I have picked out to bring here."

Terence smiled and picked up his chopsticks to eat.

Ca could tell from his words that he was subtly showing off. Thus, she nced at him and secretly

smiled. She took some food for herself and then slid a bit closer to him. She then asked in a low yet

clear voice, "Is this how you also behaved when you got engaged with Bonnie?"

Terence, who was busy eating and adding food to her bowl, froze upon hearing what Ca said. He

looked at her seriously and then nced at Andrea, who was just opposite him. He had no ns of

hiding anything from his future mother-inw. Thus, he replied casually, "No. We just ate together with

both her parents. More so, the engagement was just a verbal agreement, so it was basically nothing."

Sensing the awkward atmosphere that was engulfing them, Andrea nced at Ca and said, "Callie,

remember what I''m going to tell you. Once you''re already married to the An family, keep in mind not to

whisper like that before the seniors. Or else, you''ll be thought as bad-mannered."

Ca bit on her chopsticks in embarrassment upon hearing what Andrea said. She then nodded her

head to let her mother know that she understood her.

"Moreover, don''t bite your chopsticks. Don''t make big noises when eating, especially when you are

sipping soup. If you don''t know how to do it correctly then just take Terence as your model, ''

added Andrea. The middle-aged woman looked at Terence and smiled again. She was really

impressed at how he was behaving so elegantly and well mannered.

The Hua family was also known for being noble and well-established. Thus, Andrea could easily tell a

person''s upbringing based on how he or she acted.

She had been observing Terence and she couldn''t help but nod at how he was carrying himself. She

concluded that he must have been taught proper etiquette and civility at a very tender age. All his

moves were appropriate and decent, thus giving everyone around him a good impression.

Ca got a little confused after being taught by Andrea twice. She coughed to clear her throat and then

    put her chopsticks down.

"Mother, why are you telling me these things just now?

I''ve had so many meals here and haven''t heard you say anything about rules. What makes you

remember these things all of a sudden?"

"You''ve only been with me when having meals. I don''t mind those rules at all since I''m your mother. I

just want you to enjoy every meal by letting you do as you please. However, moving to the An family

would be different. You will have to behave properly there; every time you eat your meal, every time

you go outside, and every time you appear in public. You have to be very decent."

Andrea sounded patient while speaking. She wasn''t the strict-mother type of person. Nheless, she

also knew that marrying into the An family would definitely fill Ca''s life with rules every day. Although

Terence didn''t mind the rules and loved Ca the way she was, Ca''s actions and behavior would

definitely attract a lot of attention. Andrea knew that her daughter would gradually understand her in the

    days toe.

Giving Terence a quick nce, Ca poked on his leg under the table to call his attention. She had

been waiting for him to say something toe to her rescue. However, it seemed that the man didn''t

even have any intention of doing such.

"Oh, no. Don''t ask Terence for help. When facing the seniors and hearing them talk, especially when

they are teaching the younger ones some lessons, don''t chime in." Andrea continued to b upon

noticing Ca asking Terence for help.

Ca bit her lower lip and looked at Terence with a gloomy face. She then red at him when he

    suddenly smiled silently.

Immediately, she felt disappointed and said, "Mother, I think that I''d better not marry into the An family.

A normal family will be just enough for me."

Her tone was tinged with sadness.

Terence''s smile instantly melted upon hearing her. Finally, he uttered, "It is not a big deal, mother. I will

teach her all the rules in the future. For now, we''d better just enjoy this meal."

He thought that it was okay to keep silent at first. However, he realized that it was a bad idea since her

expression looked threatening to him now. What would he do if she changed her mind and decided not

    to marry him?

"Callie, don''t say this casually. Marriage is not a game yed by small children. Well, have your meal

now," lectured Andrea in a very serious tone.

She knew that Ca was brought up by her foster parents. Unfortunately, she had no idea about the

kind of environment Ca had grown up in and how her foster parents taught her.
