consume. They spoke desultorily about many topics while they ate. After dinner, Ca received a call
from Andrea.
Andrea knew that Noah had tricked Ca into going to the hospital to have an abortion. Andrea was
worried and furious. How could Noah have the gall to do that to Ca? Andrea knew that Ca needed
to get away from Noah. As a result, she no longer objected to Caing back to JA City.
After all, Ca was pregnant with the flesh and blood of the An family. This baby was very important.
Sooner orter, Ca would have to return to the Ans.
Andrea had unterally announced the cancetion of the engagement in public. But because she
wanted to sweep the incident under the rug and not bring Ca any more pain, she did not give a
reason why the engagement was cancelled. Therefore, even members of the Hua family did not know
the truth. They all assumed, however, that Ca changed her mind and abandoned Noah.
"Callie, how are you doing? Are you okay? Are you feeling better?"
"I''m doing much better now, mom. I started to eat a lot after I came back. I have seen the doctor and he
said that everything is okay. Although my stomach isn''t showing yet, the baby is growing well."
Ca returned to her room while chatting happily with her concerned mother. At the moment, Terence
was dealing with some work in the study.
"That''s good. Then I won''t be so worried about you. In any case, a woman''s first baby is very important.
You should try to eat better and do some light exercises. It is very important to be healthy throughout
your pregnancy. You don''t need to worry about us or the family. Since Mr. Terence has a good grip on
the overall business, it won''t be easy for Noah to manipte the Hua Group to take his side."
Andrea eventually sighed whilementing the fact that the situation had reached this point. She said,
"When your body is in apletely stable state, you cane back here. We can hold a general
shareholders'' meeting. This is something we need to deal with sooner rather thanter."
Whether Andrea liked it or not, things eventually had to be settled as they had reached this point.
"Okay, I know, mom. Don''t worry about me. I''m doing fine. Make sure you take care of yourself. I''ll see
you in a few days."
"Okay, you must take care of yourself. And when this is all over, I''ll help prepare your wedding
ceremony. You''re already pregnant. How long do you want to drag things on for? The marriage cannot
be dyed anymore!"
Ca smiled helplessly. "Don''t worry, mom. Terence has already discussed this with me. We both
agreed we should get married soon. But his grandpa is going to have an operation in theing days.
He wants to wait until his grandpa finishes the operation first. That way, he can be part of the
ceremony."
Andrea felt relieved to hear her words. "Really? Is that the case? I assumed that the Ans didn''t even
think about it. But this is great. Terence''s grandpa''s operation is more important. The wedding
ceremony can be held any time after he recovers then. But you should still get the marriage certificate
first. Do you have any ns of doing that? Do it when you both are free."
"Yes, I got it, mom. Don''t worry or you''ll get more white hairs. Have a good night,"
Ca said goodbye with a smile and hung up the phone.
After a while, Terence finished his work and came into the bedroom.
"A call from mom? Is everything okay?"
When she heard Terence address her mother as "mom", Ca smiled brilliantly. She waved at him,
gesturing at him to sit next to her. "Do you know what my mom said?"
"What did she say?"
Terence sat down on the sofa next to Ca. He habitually wrapped his arms around her and his smiling
eyes stared at her.
"She said… She said you should marry me as soon as possible. Otherwise, people willugh at me if
you don''t marry me before the baby grows up." Ca spoke quickly while sitting cross-legged on the
sofa, casting mischievous nces at him.
"She said that? She has no objections? That''s great. I can marry you with no problems then. How
about getting the marriage certificate tomorrow? Do you have your household register here?"
"Yeah, I''ve already prepared everything ages ago. I''m just waiting for you!"
Ca blinked innocently, trying her best not to burst outughing.
There were only Sean and her in the Ji family, so she was the one who kept the household register.
Terence could not helpughing. But his grin gradually faded as he looked at Ca. He held her hands
and said solemnly, "Ca, I must tell you that being my wife is not going to be as easy as you may
have thought. The An family operates colossal businesses. There are many things that you will have to
deal with as Mrs. An. But I will do my best to make things as easy for you as possible. I won''t let you
feel pressured."
Terence told her the facts honestly so that she could prepare herself.
Although most people thought that the Ans were powerful and rich, they didn''t know that a lot of hard
work went into keeping a big family and a big corporation running smoothly. It was not easy to be
Terence''s wife and the daughter-inw of the Ans. There were lots of responsibilities waiting for Ca.
Although some words were not pleasant to hear, Terence didn''t want to hide anything from her.
"Well, do I have any other choice? Does this mean that I can still back out and not marry you?"
Ca shrugged her shoulders and taunted him. Her eyes were twinkling brightly.
"You want to back out? No chance! You have to marry me and only me!"
Terence asserted at once.
"If I have no choice, then why do you still ask me? A marriage requires two partners to understand and
struggles. I''ll try my best to be a considerate wife. And I know you will try your best to be a considerate
husband. We will make it work, no matter how difficult it may be."
Ca looked at him with a beautiful smile.
"Great. So it''s decided then. You can''t back out now! Let''s get our marriage certificate tomorrow!"
Terence spoke excitedly. He entwined her fingers with his and they smiled at each other happily.
