    Chapter 75 Staying with him


    Deborah moved backwards and shook her head as tears continue falling from her eyes.


    "Dad, you are guilty about it. You lied to me, you lied to all of us. Do you know how badly I defended


    you? Do you know i was mobbed by the people you cheated, i was almost injured.."


    "Dad!" She cried and fell to the ground.


    "I''m so disappointed.."


    James sighed and walked to her. He crouched before her and tried touching her but she pped his


    hand away.


    Tyson rolled his eyes.


    "Stop with this madness, Deb. Dad is not the only politician who had done this and besides, he did it for


    us. You wouldn''t have been able to leave such an extravagant lifestyle if not for that.."


    Deborah shook her head and then stood up.


    "You are all the same.."


    ''Stop it Deborah.." Lauren''s voice was heard behind her.


    "Mum..''


    "Now that you know the truth, you should know this is what you have to do to win. Stop acting like a


    child. You are an adult now!" Lauren scolded and Deborah couldn''t believe her ears. She scoffed.


    "So you are all in cahoots. Well, I''m not surprised.." She said and then she walked out.


    They were all surprised when she walked out of the house.


    "Wait, Where''s she going? Stop her.." Lauren said and made to run after her but James held her back.


    "She can''t stay away for too long. She wille back running to us.." He said and Lauren sighed.

    Both Elle and Kiera were in the living room, waiting for Jason. He already promised to visit. As Elle was


    braiding Kiera''s hair, the door bell opened and Jason stepped in.


    Kiera''s eyes widened. She left her mum and immediately ran to embrace him. Jason smiled when he


    caught her in his arms.


    "Daddy, where were you?" She asked and he kissed her hair.


    "I''m sorry, I was busy with some work but I got some gifts for you.." He said and Kiera pecked him.


    "Thank you daddy, I''ll go to my room to check them out.." She said and made to go but then she


    paused and faced him.


    "Don''t try to escape daddy, you promised to y some games with me.." She smirked and heughed.


    "And the winner gets a gift.." She added.


    "I want ice cream and lots of choctes.." She said.


    "No, you know that''s not allowed. You will fall sick if you take too much of that.." Elle cut in.


    "Come on mummy, I take my drugs regrly and my inhaler is always with me. I''m fine.." She said and


    Jason furrowed his brows.


    "Inhaler?" He asked and Kiera nodded. She pecked him again and ran upstairs.


    "What inhaler? Is Kiera asthmatic?" Jason asked.


    "Yeah, my pregnancy had a lot ofplications, I had inhaled a lot of smoke in the fire that it affected


    my baby badly. I almost thought she died since we couldn''t feel her heartbeat but my princess


    miraculously survived and I''m forever grateful for that.."


    Jason walked to her and hugged her.


    "I can''t keep on apologising but.."


    Elle immediately broke the hug.


    "It''s fine, you don''t need to apologise.." She whispered. He smiled and kissed her forehead.


    "So how did it go?" He asked her and she smiled.


    "It went well enough. Our fake engagement is in two days and the wedding in two weeks…"


    "I guess that''s enough to gather all the evidence.." She said and he nodded and then kissed her neck.


    "And what about Langford?"


    "I''ll just keep him until the wedding day. He wi be a good use and thankfully he''s cooperating well now


    but we moved him to a very far ce from here.." Elle said and Jason kissed her lips.


    "Hey, what are you doing?" She chuckled. He immediately carried her in a bridal style and her eyes


    widened.


    "Put me down!" She giggled as he stated climbing the stairs.

    The cold breeze hit Deborah as she walked down the lonely and silent street. She dropped her phone


    in her bag so she didn''t have any means of contacting her brother or any one else.


    She got to a point where three guys were gathered and fear gripped her immediately. They looked at


    her with lust in their eyes and out of instincts, she began running. The guys started running after her.


    She didn''t even notice a rock ahead of her, her leg hit it and she fell to the ground groaning and began


    crying. For a minute, she regretted leaving home thiste.


    The guys caught up with her and she began crawling backwards.


    "Please, please, don''t hurt me. Please.."


    The guysughed and immediately one of them held her arms, while the other two started unbuckling


    their belts. Tears rushed out of their eyes.


    ''Please, leave me alone. Please have mercy on me.." She cried and the other one pped her causing


    her lips to be bruised.


    "You are very pretty so I am sure you will be a sweet too.." The first one said and just then a car drove


    towards them.


    The car''s door opened and he stepped out of the car. He rushed towards them and kicks, punches


    followed. Within a minute, two were lying on the floor unconscious and the other one ran off.


    Deborah who was still in shock sat up. Her eyes were getting dizzy and before she could pass out, he


    rushed towards her and embraced her.


    "You are fine now. Don''t be scared.." He said and kissed her hair. She raised her head and looked up


    at him.


    "Pervert.." She smiled and he nodded.


    "Come on, let''s get you out of here.." He said and then carried her up in a bridal style.

    Damien watched as Deborah walked in and after some seconds, he followed suit on the pretense of


    passing out a vital information to the governor.


    He stood behind a corner eavesdropping on their conversation and watched Deborah storm off angrily.


    He went after her immediately trailing her with his car but he didn''t know why he couldn''t invite her in.


    But then, he lost his cool when he saw some guys trying to force themselves over her and came to


    save her.

    He dropped her in the car and wore her seatbelt for her.


    "Are you sure you are okay?" He asked her caressing her hair.


    ''How did you know where i am?"


    "I followed you.." He replied immediately and she smiled.


    "Thank you for saving me.."


    "Should I just call your older brother, Jason?" He asked and she shook her head.


    ''No, it''s alreadyte. I''m sure he would be damn worried about me.." She replied.


    "Then will you stay at my ce?"


    Deb sighed before nodding.
