    Chapter 40 An hidden truth


    Elle opened her closed eyes and then looked up at him. Langford was groaning, throwing his head


    backwards. Then her eyes trailed down to where she shot him and she realised that she shot him on


    the leg.


    Elle heaved a sigh of relief and then brought down her hands still ring at Langford.


    "I could have killed you but you are still very useful to me.." She said.


    "J.. just kill me.." Langford begged with his eyes closed.

    response.


    Elle sighed and stood straight and that was when it hit her. She remembered his words again.

    "Was he talking about his wife?" She asked herself.


    "But then, Lauren is his wife. So how then is she alive? Dang! This is confusing.." She says and


    loosened her hair.


    "Could it be that he was talking of histe wife, Jason''s mum? But didn''t shemit suicide?"


    Elle sighed and then walked out of the room. She didn''t even bother to even tell de she was leaving.


    She just walked out. After getting to the ce, she parked her car. She hopped in and started her


    journey back.


    As many ideas were rushing through her head. Suddenly she remembered something and she halted


    the car immediately.


    "My mummitted suicide. She and Dad were having issues at that time. They both were at fault in


    this case. The both of them were too arrogant to apologise to each other. I was in my elementary


    school when it happened. I came back from school and met the police and Media at our house. I just


    only saw my mum''s lifeless bodyid on a stretcher and my dad was beside her weeping terribly.."

    JASON''S MANSION.


    Jason took a sip of the coffee he was holding, then he dropped it and continued typing on hisptop.


    He stopped typing and then he smiled when he remembered her.


    His phone rang. It was his assistant calling. Jason rolled his eyes and then answered it.


    "I''m busy.." He cut in immediately.


    "Boss, Miss Giselle and her dad are here to see you in the office.."


    "I''m not interested.." He said and then hung up.


    "That girl clearly doesn''t know when to give up.." He mumbled as he used his right thumb to caress his


    lower lip.


    He sighed out and then rounded up the work he was doing on it. Then he closed it.


    He picked up his phone and then smiled.


    "It''s just two days to Asanel''s birthday..'' He thought.


    Then he remembered Elle.


    "I don''t know if I''m just feeling this way but she reminds of Asanel. Sometimes her words, her


    expression reminds me of her. She can''t be sassy and rude but at the same time, cute and extremely


    soft hearted. That''s also Asanel''s personality.."
