Chapter 191 Chop It!
"Well, I''ll keep my mouth shut then. Dorothy, you can stay with your mom. I''ll have a gentleman talk
with Colin first." They seem to be a real family. Their interaction was admirable and it was obvious that
they knew each other very well.
Colin handed over the present to Marce and then went with Gregary to meet several businessmen.
As Sophia and Hugh were talking rather seriously with the general manager of Ji n, Colin and
Gregary came over to them. They stood together in a circle.
"Are Mr. Pei and Mr. Li old friends? Looks to me as if you know each other pretty well." A new general
manager from A Country asked them. Since he was new to the area, he doesn''t know about their
history just yet.
Colin and Hugh took a nce at each other. There was nothing but innocence in their eyes. "Yes.
We''ve been friends for many years."
Hugh draped his arm around Colin''s shoulder and said in a friendly way, "Yes. We''re good friends!"
Deep down both of them, they were still good friends. Sophia was the only issue that separated them.
With a ss of red wine in her hand, Sophia lowered her head in embarrassment. She knew that she
was the reason why Colin and Hugh had developed a gap from each other.
The general manager naively asked Hugh, "Mr. Pei, I find Miss Lo so brilliant and beautiful. She must
be your girlfriend."
Well... Everyone in the circle were taken aback with the manager''s words as they fell awkwardly silent.
When Sophia raised her head, Hugh responded quickly, "Not yet. But I''m pursuing her!"
His response defused the awkward atmosphere. All of them burst intoughter. The general manager
said in a more cheerful tone, "Mr. Pei, you should step up your game. Since Miss Lo is so beautiful,
there must be many men pursuing her! That I''m sure!"
Sophia moved closer to Hugh and looked at the general manager with her signature lovely smile. "I''m
ttered. Since Hugh has been so kind to me, I would probably be with him in the near future."
Her humorous yet ironic reply made peopleugh again. People did not dare to mention anything about
their past. Seeing that Sophia and Hugh have already developed an intimacy with each other, Gregary
heaved a sigh of relief.
He would no longer worry about his assumption that Sophia would still pursue Colin.
Hugh grinned from ear to ear. Although he knew that Sophia was just making a scene, he was still very
happy as he believed that his dream to be with her would eventuallye true.
Colin bottomed up a ss of wine. Then Dorothy came out of nowhere and hooked her arm on his.
"Colin, what are you talking about? You guys seem to be very happy and animated. I can''t miss out on
such happy moment."
When she saw that Sophia and Colin were happily talking in the same circle, Dorothy immediately
came over, wary that the two would get close again.
The general manager didn''t actually know about their rtionship. He said, "Miss Lien, we''re talking
about the growing affection between Mr. Pei and Miss Lo. Their rtionship is as good as you and Mr.
Li''s!"
His words made everyone nce at each other in secret. ''Were Colin and Dorothy really in good
rtionship? We could''t see that. All we saw was a man forcing himself to marry a woman.'' On the
other hand, they knew so well that Colin and Sophia loved each other deeply three years ago. They
wondered if that was still true up to this day...
Dorothy pretended to be suddenly enlightened and asked Sophia out of mere curiosity, "Colin and I will
marry at the end of next month. What about Miss Lo and Mr. Pei? I believe it''s already time that you
two tie the knot."
"Maybe at the end of the year." Sophia answered. She nced at Colin with such grace and calmness.
Her eyes were like telling Colin that he would regret leaving her.
But Colin stayed still and did not even flinch when Sophia looked at him.
Dorothy nodded happily, like an innocent girl. Indeed, she was d that Sophia had decided to move
on from Colin. "Congrattions! Will you invite Colin and me to your wedding ceremony?"
"Of course! I''ll personally send you the invitation! You have to be there!" Hugh replied. He felt Sophia''s
sadness and yed along.
Later on, Sophia didn''t listen anymore to what they were talking about. She was immersed in her own
thoughts.
Though she knew Colin didn''t love her anymore, she still wanted to make him jealous. How ridiculous
she was! Why couldn''t she just move on? She would just end up feeling empty.
As the dinner was about to be served, a woman suddenly appeared in the hall. Everyone looked at her
as she handed over a big box to Marce. "Excuse me, Mrs. Lien. Sorry to interrupt your party. This is
a birthday present for you. Please sign it."
Perplexed, Marce stared at the box. "Who sent it?"
"Sorry, I honestly don''t know. There is no name on it." The woman said naively.
Marce finally signed her name. After the delivery woman left, Marce was about to give the box to
her butler and continue with the party.
Suddenly, the cover of the box somehow opened a crack. In a panic, Marce dropped the box onto
the floor.
"Meow!" A cat cried out, followed by a series of screaming.
To the horror of everyone, the ck cat flung onto the shoulder of Marce. Marce was too scared to
move as she froze in fear. As the cat moved to her other shoulder, she identally tripped on a rock
and fell down.
However, the ck cat clinched to her long dress tightly. When she fell down, the cat nestled
"Ah! Come on! Pull this damn cat away! Chop and kill this creature! Now!" Marce''s words shocked
everyone.
They didn''t expect that such an elegantdy was actually so cruel!
Finally, Gregary came over to throw the cat away and helped Marce get up on her feet.
Marce''s carefully dressed hair was in a total mess right now. With a pale face, she held on Gregary''s
arm tightly. "Come on! Catch the cat and deal with it! I want it gone!!"
The hall was in a nk silence. Everyone looked at each other in astonishment.
They thought they were just hallucinating as they couldn''t believe how the woman in front of them was
acting. But now, they werepletely convinced how cruel Marce was!
Everyone began to gossip and talk about Marce, criticizing her maliciousness.
Some people even looked at her with sneers and raised eyebrows, as if she didn''t deserve to be a
noble woman...
Gregary shouted at Marce, "Shut up! Collect yourself together! That was just a cat, for God''s sake!"
His sharp and fiery eyes made Marce sober. She suddenly realized that they were in a public ce.

apology to everyone, "I''m sorry. Please forgive me. That was not like me at all."
The ck cat was caught by a security guard. Someone shouted from the crowd, "Please don''t kill it!"
"Totally! Mrs. Lien didn''t get hurt, did she? It''s too malicious to kill it! Too vicious!"
