Chapter 10: Hell has just begun

After the terrifying roar, the Star Eater immediately plunged into the atmosphere at an insane speed, ignore its grotesque body burning as it tore through the sky.

The King did not hesitate. His eyes locked onto it, unwavering.

“All at once—fire everything you have!” he roared.

A storm of bullets and missiles erupted into the sky, launched through the King’s Gate and targeting the monstrous being. But the attacks collided uselessly against its shield.

“That trick again?” the King scoffed. “No—you won’t get away with the same move twice. Elf King, now!”

The Elf King below the palace instantly understood. He summoned a colossal wind arrow—formed by the power of his people—and spun it at a ferocious speed before launching it toward the Star Eater.

“Eat this, you damn thing!” the Elf King shouted.

Without delay, the King summoned a glowing spear and cast powerful enhancement spells on both the weapon and his own body. He hurled the spear directly into the spinning wind arrow—both forces resonated, combining into a massive spiral wind spear that pierced the Star Eater’s shield, leaving behind a visible crack.

“You learned to adapt quickly.” the King muttered, “but it won’t save you. Everyone, aim for the crack—open fire!”

The armies redirected their cannons and rained fire upon the weak point. The shield began to fracture further.

Seizing the opportunity, the King opened the gate once more and charged toward the crack, conjuring a radiant sword mid-flight. The Star Eater, startled by his advance, locked eyes with him—but the King only smiled.

“Surprised… you damn creature,” he shouted out loud in anger.

His sword pulsed with energy as he slashed directly into the crack—shattering the shield completely right before the Star Eater’s horrified eyes.

“Good luck,” he provoked, vanishing back through the gate and return to the palace.

The moment he vanished, countless bullets surged toward the Star Eater, engulfing it in a storm that disoriented and slowed its descent. and wounding it — but it wasn’t finished yet.

Its outer shell suddenly split apart, forming a grotesque mouth, and with all its strength, it launched its core straight down into the ocean. The shell then exploded mid-air, raining debris across all of Utopia—obliterating buildings, claiming countless lives, and plunging the land into chaos and devastation.

The core struck the ocean with violent force, unleashing a massive water column and a tsunami that swept away everything in its path—including the nearby coastal kingdoms. Countless screams echoed, only to be drowned by the roaring waves. Even beneath the sea, the Mermaid Kingdom trembled from the shockwaves, its very foundations beginning to collapse.

“Report the situation immediately!” the King demanded.

“All coastal kingdoms have been wiped out, sir…” a trembling voice replied. “We’re finding bodies floating everywhere. We’re still searching for survivors…”

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

    “What about the Mermaid Kingdom?”

“It’s stable for now,” the Mermaid Queen answered nervously. “But the damage is immeasurable.”

“What about its core? Any signs?”

“Searching the impact zone,” said the Deep Sea King.

“Be careful. That thing is unpredictable,” the King warned anxiously.

While the Deep Sea King continued his search, the King ordered the remaining forces to stay alert and prepare for the worst.

“Everyone, raise your guard. Increase troops, prepare every spell and weapon system. We don’t know what’s coming next.”

“Yes, sir!” the leaders responded in unison.

Preparations escalated quickly. Forbidden spells were prepared, defense systems activated, and weapon reserves mobilized. Even the King personally checked the information systems, ensuring everything was in place."

    “Is their system ready?”

“All stats stable. Ready on command.”

“Good… now show me, Star Eater—what else can you do?” he muttered, his voice a mix of determination and dread.

After a long search, the Deep Sea King finally found the Star Eater’s core.

“Sir, I found it. What now?”

“Memorize the location and return immediately,” the King responded calmly.

    “Understood.”

The King sighed in momentary relief—but then something felt off.

A strange voice echoed in his head.

“Focus and listen… you can hear it getting angry.”

“What…? Hear what?” the King spun around—but saw only his soldiers.

Cold sweat dripped down his face. He heard it—faint cries of rage. The unmistakable presence of hatred.

“Deep Sea King, get out of there now!” he screamed suddenly.

    “Sir, what—”

Before the Deep Sea King could finish, a giant eye opened beneath the ocean and locked onto him. Countless black hands emerged from the abyss, grabbing him and his companions, pulling them into the depths despite their resistance.

    “Help—!”

That was the last thing the King heard—his scream cut short, followed by the crunching of bones and silence. The communication line died, replaced only by static.

“Deep Sea King… no… impossible…” the King whispered, trembling.

“Fire all missiles at the location he marked—NOW!”

Missiles launched, crashing into the ocean, creating vast columns of water. But then… silence. No movement.

“It’s too quiet,” the King muttered. “As if nothing ever existed there…”

Suddenly, thick black liquid bubbled up from the sea and spread across the surface.

“What is that?” the leaders gasped.

And then, from within the tar-like substance, humanoid creatures emerged—grotesque, rotted, stitched together by monstrous appendages. Their soulless eyes reflected only one instinct: hunger and killing.

They shrieked—starving beasts unleashed—and swarmed across sky and sea in overwhelming numbers.

Without needing commands, all kingdoms opened fire—missiles, cannons, magic—everything.

    But it wasn’t enough.

One by one, the kingdoms fell.

The Mermaid Kingdom fell first—its people hunted down and torn apart, their final screams echoing only through the communication channels. The ocean soon turned red with blood and flesh.

Then came the flying fortresses of the angels and birdmen, engulfed by the swarm and dragged down, exploding on impact. The sky turned crimson, raining blood and flesh.

One by one, the kingdoms fell—no magic, no weapon could stop them.

Even the Abyssal Breaker, the symbol of Utopia’s will, was collapsing under their assault.

The King stood frozen—paralyzed as the world crumbled before him. His vision blurred under the weight of despair and screams.

    Until a voice broke through—

“If you do nothing… everything you love will disappear.”

He snapped back to reality. Without hesitation, he opened a portal and dove into battle.

From the sky, he summoned a titanic lightning bolt, striking the land near the Star Eater’s core, vaporizing swarms of creatures.

    He landed, eyes blazing.

“Listen up, all of you—bear my wrath! WAKE UP GUARDIANS OF UTOPIA!”

Far below the palace, countless eyes opened in the dark.

Just before the horde reached him, a massive gate opened behind him—a colossal arm burst out, crushing the creatures instantly. From the gate, a giant fighting machine emerged—armed with blades, guns, and energy cannons. It rampaged across the battlefield, slicing the monsters apart and drown them in flames.

Then, across all of Utopia, other gates opened, unleashing an army of war machines, each destroying the swarm with devastating force.

The King stood tall amidst the chaos—unshaken, resolute.

    “Time to counterattack.”
