Chapter 166 Wily Opponent
Amber''s mindset was she wanted the verdict toe early so she could be put to death and the
nightmare to be over.
E nced around the room and saw a camera behind her.
Moving her position to block the camera, E took out a thick wad of cash from her bag and gave it to
the two policewomen, "Please give us a few minutes."
Since there was a camera on the wall behind E, if E even moved slightly, their interaction would be
clearly photographed. The two policewomen tly refused the money.
"Sorry, we can''t ept any bribes." In fact, it is only them who knew if they had ever been bribed.
Suddenly, when E was in that dilemma, someone outside called out, "Everyone gather here at once!
."
The two policewomen immediately put the cash in their pockets then, looked at E harshly, "You better
hurry up. We''ll be right back."
"Thank you, thank you very much." E was not relieved until she saw them close the door.
She walked back towards Amber, "I know you have a reason for why you did it."
Her first words made Amber unable to stay calm. Amber opened her eyes and looked at E in shock.
How did E know?
At this moment, there was slight movement outside the door.
E listened carefully and thought that someone seemed to be approaching to eavesdrop, so she
changed the topic.
"Are you all right here?" E took Amber''s small hand. Several of her fingers were broken. Amber
closed her eyes in pain without crying out.
E could hardly see the tears in her eyes. She couldn''t help wondering what could have caused a top
actress to fall into such misery within a few days.
Amber wanted to take back her hand, since she didn''t need anyone to sympathise with her. But her
hands couldn''t move, so she had to let E hold her.
E would''t give up, although she didn''t get an answer.
"Amber, why did you do that to me?" Her fingers gently wrote the question silently on Amber''s palm.
The only answer was silence.
"I hate you, Amber. If Samuel hadn''t arrived, I would have been vited." What E was talking about
was no secret.
"Amber, the verdict ising soon.
I used to love Samuel before, and then I was with himter. Although I was a bit excessive at that time,
it didn''t matter. The point was that I was with someone I like. I was really very happy at that time. Do
you know how happy I was when we had a child of our own?"
When it came to this, E suddenly paused because Amber''s index finger was moving.
After a pause of about three seconds, she continued, "Even if he didn''t love me at the time, even if we
had a lot of problemster, even if we were divorced, I was satisfied with having such a beautiful
memory. Amber, do you have anyone you like?"
Amber finally spoke in a low voice, "I love Samuel. Will you give him up for me?" Her eyes welled up
with tears, leaving E feeling more distressed than before.
"The verdict ising. Even if I''m willing to give him up, what''s the point?" E''s words made Amber
raise her index finger again and draw the phic alphabet, which made E tremble.
"Then you can go now!" Amber then closed her eyes again.
E was the only one who knew her fear. Amber was so frightened that her whole body was shaking.

"Well, I''m leaving, Amber. Don''t like Samuel in your next life. He is a scum of a man."
The prison door opened and E was stunned when a man came in.
''Touch, pinch, and you will be defiled''. Secretly scolding Samuel several times, E was finally caught
in his presence this time.
"You''ve been naughty again." The man''s faint words made Amber open her eyes and experience the
scene unfolding in front of her.
E was embarrassed. She was trying to persuade Amber to forget about Samuel.
Samuel took E into his arms and walked out of the room. He did not nce at Amber on the bed.
The door of the room was closed and Amber wept. She had to give up, nothing good came out of
loving him.
More importantly, should she believe E?
The Cadic slowly started to move.
E sat silent, with a heavy expression on her face, something Samuel had rarely seen.
It seemed that Amber had told E something.
"Tell me about your conversation." This was something that couldn''t be solved by E alone. The culprit
was thoughtful and left no clue.
E was outwitted by her wily opponent.
Still Samuel did''t know who the culprit was. He was not sure whether he could find out. But at the very
least, he couldn''t allow E to bear it alone.
E thought again and shook her head, "Amber just told me that she didn''t really mean to hurt me."
It was not that she didn''t want to tell Samuel the truth. The only reason was that Amber only gave her a
surname and she wasn''t sure who it was.
Was it Emma or Catherine?
If it was Emma, she had something else to deal with. If it was Catherine... Was that woman really not
doing anything wrong, or was she good at hiding her actions well?
But whether Catherine or Emma did it, she wouldn''t let any of them get off that easily.
"E..."
"Samuel, could you help me ensure the safety of Amber?"
E interrupted Samuel, just as he spoke.
Her words made Samuel frown, but atst he nodded in agreement.
"E, I don''t want you to conceal information from me, just tell me the one you suspect!" He wouldn''t let
her face it alone.
Amber''s family had been under surveince for several days and no suspicious behaviours had been
detected.
"Amber didn''t tell me who was behind it, and I don''t suspect anyone." E refusedpletely to tell him
because she was afraid that Samuel would be soft on them if he knew it was one of the sisters.
Samuel knew she wouldn''t say it, so he didn''t ask again, instead he took her for dinner.
At Samuel''s Law Firm, In the office of Miss. Gu.
It was almost the end of the working day, and Catherine was sitting in her seat, listening to the report
from the other end of the line.
"Very well, " she said atst, "Kill her before the verdict is decided.
What did they talk about?"
"Money is not an issue. I''ll send five million to youter. You should break through all the key links and
deal with all the trouble."
Samuel sent people to investigate the matter very rigorously, they did not even miss any minuscule
clue. If she hadn''t acted fast, some vital information would havee to light.
She also knew what a terrible situation she was in. It had be a secret struggle between her and
Samuel.
It seemed that Samuel had no upper hand, but it was because she had obliterated all the evidence.
Once Samuel found evidence about what she had done, she would soon be finished.
So the best way to solve all her problems was to kill Amber.
After hanging up, Catherine deleted records of all suspicious calls. Any evidence that might lead to her
needed to be dealt with.
At the Royal Mansion, Samuel went to park the car in the garage and E walked towards the vi
door, albeit bored.
She inadvertently noticed that the lock on the door to the vi was still the fingerprint lock just like
before. Nothing had changed.
