Chapter 103 No Friendship After Breakup


    nca had been lying against the sofa. Now she sat up.


    She didn’t know what had happened between Kylie and Todd, but she and Todd were past tense now!


    “nca, I…”


    “If there’s nothing else, I’m going to hang up.” nca bit her lip. Her only w as a person was


    probably that she was soft-hearted, especially to people she’d once cared for.


    Kylie had introduced her to Todd in the first ce. The two of them were college ssmates. Back


    then, nca was working already, and asionally had meals with Kylie. With that back and forth, she


    met Todd more often, who then started courting her.


    nca settled her thoughts and was about to hang up when there came a sudden exmation from


    the other end. “I won’t give up so easily, nca!”


    nca had already hung up.


    Her feelings were in the past, dust in the wind.


    “Who was that?”


    The sudden voice startled nca. She almost tossed the phone out as she jumped. Then she found


    that Matthew had appeared before her at some point. “A friend.”


    “Just a friend?” Matthew walked over, looking down upon nca from the bedside, lips curving. “Or an


    ex-boyfriend?”

    Her fist tightened, though.


    It wasn’t because she was lonely without Todd, but… what right did Matthew have to talk to her like


    that? What did he think he was doing? Catching her out?


    “Don’t forget who you are, nca.”


    The low tone made him sound exactly like a man who’d caught his wife cheating.


    And that pissed nca off!


    “So what if my ex called? So what if we decided to reignite the old me? Aren’t you butting in a bit too


    much, Mr. Grant?” nca bit her lip, raising up and looking Matthew dead in the eyes, her posture


    stubborn.


    She was only in a shifty nightgown right now, showing her smooth leg and corbone. From where


    Matthew stood, he could see that she wasn’t wearing anything else underneath…


    And she just had to raise her head up at him.


    His throat suddenly moved.


    As his gaze slowly darkened, nca was still pissed as she looked up at him. What, did he really think


    he was something else just for standing a little bit higher? She leaned against the bedrest and stood up


    on the bed, barefoot. “I’m telling you right here and now, Matthew Grant. We’re cooperating.


    Cooperating, got it? And in a cooperation, what’s important is to get ourselves in a win-win situation.


    We’re in an equal position. I’m acting that you’re my husband well enough out there, but my private


    love life isn’t something for you to pry into, is it?”


    With Matthew leaving her at the mall today, nca had been holding a grudge for a full day.


    If he really wasn’t afraid of rumors of them arguing spreading out, why would he leave her there?

    would have dared spread any rumors about what happened.

    Matthew suddenly drew close, one long leg kneeling on the bed, and reached out, pushing nca


    down! He leant up, disregarding nca’s struggles, and grinned, “So you’re nning on seeing this ex


    of yours?”


    “I… why yes. Yes I am.” She hadn’t nned to give Todd the time of day, but nca was all in now!


    Still, at this moment, she was lying in bed, sitting up slightly with her upper body, while Matthew


    separated her legs with his knee and pressed on her…
