Chapter 39 Chasing Me Off?

    Chapter 39 Chasing Me Off?

She wanted to talk back, but she knew better than to put up a fight with him. If she really pushed this

lustful man and he did something, nca didn’t think she’d be able to take it.

So she went to sleep. She’d tired herself out throughout the day, and drifted off soon enough.

As he sensed the even breathinge from the pillowside, Matthew sighed, got out of bed, and went

for a cold shower to drain the heat from his body before he went back to bed to sleep.

The following morning, nca and Matthew left without even eating breakfast.

Before leaving, Carrie, under Wilbert’s supervision, put on a whole show of giving nca a wide

    supplement selection.

    nca took them all, smiling.

On the way back, Matthew drove a low-profile car. Seeing nca smiling happily in the front seat, he

said, “Is it nice to go home?”

“Of course it is! The mansion is like a whole castle, with so many rules and so many people looking at

me I didn’t even dare make a pant. It was killing me.”

“You were panting just fine, actually.”

nca red at him, but she was in a fine mood, so she didn’t squabble with him.

The car coasted along steadily. Maybe she’d just gone through too muchst night. nca fell asleep

    again.

It was springtime, flowers were in bloom, and there was birdsong and fragrance everywhere.

Matthew stopped the car outside the mansion and was about to remind nca to get off when he

    noticed she was asleep.

Her pale face had a hint of a smile, her longshes left a small shadow below her eyes, her nose was

small and delicate, and her pink lips spread lightly…

    “Mmm… are we home?”

nca suddenly opened her eyes. Matthew didn’t look away and kept his gaze trained on her. nca

had only just regained her senses when she felt the heat from his eyes. Realizing it was Matthew, she

twitched, a little ill at ease.

“Is – Is there something on my face? Why are you looking at me like that?”

“What really goes through your mind, nca?”

    “Huh?”

“Nothing.” Matthew had lost hisposure somewhat. He looked away and pretended he hadn’t asked

such a strange question. He opened the car door and walked briskly out.

nca scratched her head, looking confusedly at Matthew and his sudden change.

Did rich people all have such fluctuating personalities?

    Well, that’d make things difficult.

As Matthew and nca got in the mansion, Mrs. Brown greeted them, beaming. The two washed their

hands and sat down in the dining room for breakfast.

That was afortable meal for nca. She finished, burped, and looked at Matthew across her,

smiling. “Aren’t you supposed to go to work?”

    “What, chasing me off?”

“…this is your house, so how am I supposed to chase you off?”

nca grinned like the cat who’d swallowed the canary. She pointed at the artworks that she’d brought

back from n. “Old Mr. Grant gave this to me. If you’re going out to work, could you give me a lift to

the mall? I want to have this framed.”

n’s brushstrokes were strong and powerful, yetpletely natural and free-flowing.

nca appreciated the beauty of these artworks as well, and she wasn’t about to let such a precious

treasure get covered by dust in a deserted corner.

Then they went to thergest mall for art connoisseurs in Oakshire.

nca regretted thoroughly letting Matthewe out with her.

Her footsteps were rushed, and she just wanted to get the things over with and get back.

Then Matthew took her cor and nca was forced to look into his eyes.

“Is it a chore being out with me, nca?”
