Introduction: A diary from a missing brother. A reality different to our own. A vow to avenge the wrongs he suffered.Eight years since his sudden disappearance, my brother鈥檚 diary arrived at my door. In it, he recorded his life in another world; one he had been forced into and tasked with the killing of the demon king. But when he reached the culmination of his long journey, attaining demigod-like powers alongside his companions, he was met only by his death at the hands of those he trusted most. I therefore swore a promise: to follow my brother into that other reality, and to gain revenge on the party who had betrayed him.To do this I headed to Arithea, a world filled with monsters and magic, torn asunder by civil strife and the conflict of warring factions. The first traitor I would find within the Atreian Republic, a faction much alike the Rome of my world.And I would have my vengeance, no matter the cost.What to expect: - Grounded factions and LitRPG mechanics: A dark fantasy take on LitRPG stats with a focus on how these impact the world and the characters rather than any spreadsheets. Factions are also heavily inspired by their real world counterparts, retaining many of their original aspects and cultures while still having a fantasy twist; an example being the Romanic Atreian Legion incorporating dwarves and orcs into its military structure. - Character growth and impactful relationships: The MC will get stronger but is never overpowered. While he initially starts off alone, the interactions he has with other people are one of the main focuses of the story. His decisions and how he treats them influences his later interactions and how he is perceived.  - Slow burn but story driven: Progression is more gradual, but the goal of revenge remains the underlying driving force behind the entire narrative and the MC never loses sight of that. Quite some time is used to flesh out the initial setting and the world and system he finds himself in, but the conflict drastically escalates once this is all established (Chapter 15 onwards)Cover art by @grandfailure...
