Chapter 577 Always Happy To See You


    The two were just walking towards the elevator when they saw a young man wearing gold-rimmed


    spectaclesing out of the private elevator and he politely bowed down to Jean and Moore, and said,


    "Ms. Jean and Mr. Moore, please walk this way."


    They looked at each other and then, followed the young man that signaled them to the private elevator.


    With his guidance, the elevator went up to the top floor and it directly opened to Zed''s office.


    "The CEO is still in a meeting, please wait inside,"


    instructed by the young man, as he pushed to open the door for them.


    To which Jean replied, "Thank you."


    After the man had left, she looked to Moore and said, "Come on, let''s go inside."


    "Why do you want toe here when you know Zed is too busy to see you?" Moore asked as he


    helped Jean settled on the couch.


    "Well, I need to take care of him! He is such a workaholic. And I won''t get to see him earlier if I don''t


    besides, if he knows I''m here, he will leave work early," Jean answered and felt satisfied with her own


    response.


    Moore shook his head and said, "You know what, you impressed me a lot. You are far too different from


    the other girls I know."


    "Well, I know that!" Jean smiled at Moore. "Do you find me weird? And interfering with Zed''s work? But,


    Moore, you have to understand, I''m his wife and his health is my priority. And I think, he doesn''t need to


    work that hard and we don''t need a lot of money. We have each other and that''s what matters."


    In fact, Jean was a very simple woman. What Zed was making was already enough for her.


    So there was no point for making more money. And it could be quite exhausting. Zed hardly had a rest.


    Moore looked at her in surprise, his heart beating fast.


    ''So this is the real you, simple and easily pleased.''


    He couldn''t help but close his eyes and felt the bitterness in his heart.


    ''If I had met her sooner, would things be different now?


    I could have been the man she''s with, loving and cherishing her.


    Moore, quit this nonsense.''


    Moore shook his head, and though it was hard, he needed to let go of his stupid thoughts.


    Otherwise, he wouldn''t be able to control his feelings for her.


    There was a knock at the door and a fine-lookingdy came in holding a silver tray. On it were, two


    cups of coffee and appetizing desserts for each. With a smile, she put it on the table.


    And still with her smile, she silently and politely went out of the room.


    Once the door was closed, Jean took the coffee in front of her and had a sip. She noticed Moore


    looked bothered so she asked out of concern, "Are you okay?"


    "Oh, it''s nothing," Moore replied as he picked up the coffee. As he took a sip, he started to inspect the


    office.


    Jean noticed that he''s avoiding something. She shrugged and sighed, "Well…I really don''t know when


    Zed will finish his work. I''m starving."


    "How''s the dessert? " He looked at her and said, "You can take a bite and we can have dinner back


    home."


    "I don''t feel like eating at home today. " Jean shook her head at Moore''s suggestion and added, "I am


    craving for some spicy boiled fish. Let''s have that tonight. What do you think? "


    "Are you sure you want to eat spicy food? " Moore asked to confirm.


    "Yes, Zelda''s cooking is so nd. I don''t like it." Jean frowned, "We seldom eat out. I really want to


    taste my favorite spicy boiled fish, chilli chicken and Kung Pao pork..."


    Jean was drooling with the thought of these mouth-watering dishes.


    Moore looked at her and was amazed by her drooling look and smiled. "Alright! As you wish. But I


    wonder if it''s okay with Zed. "


    "Okay with what?" All of a sudden, the door opened and Zed came out with a big smile.


    "Zed, you''re done with your meeting atst! " Jean said happily as she saw Zed.


    "Yes. Did I keep you and Moore waiting?" Zed asked gently as he leaned towards Jean.


    "Oh, that''s fine. We were just chatting while waiting for you," Jean said with a beaming smile.


    "Is Avery not with you? Where is she by the way?" Zed asked as he realized Jean and Moore were


    together without Avery for some time.

    "We ran into Adolf at the hospital and he told us that Albert was being treated for alcohol poisoning in


    the emergency room. Avery wanted to stay with Adolf, so only I and Moore came here," Jean pointed


    out.


    "What? Albert was poisoned?" Zed frowned and his nce moved to Moore, who was standing at the


    side.


    "Yes, indeed," Moore nodded. "As what Adolf told us, he doesn''t know yet if Albert is out of danger."


    A worried look showed on Zed''s face and he sighed, "I don''t want to keep you waiting. I will wrap up


    the meeting early. By the way, I just heard someone was craving for spicy boiled fish, Kung Pao pork..."


    "Oh, Zed..." Jean smiled cheerfully, "You are the best!"


    "Anything for you. But don''t eat too much, okay? It''s not good to eat too spicy food," Zed said as he


    helped Jean up.


    "Don''t worry, a small bite won''t hurt!" Jean persuaded.


    "Is it okay for you to leave early?" Moore asked to confirm.


    "Yes, it''s okay. And besides, I really want to go home and rest. I was so tiredst night and honestly, my


    body is telling me to slow down," Zed said as he stretched his body.


    "Let''s get something to eat then we go home early," said Jean as she was getting concerned with the


    dark circles around his eyes.


    "Okay, great," Zed nodded and agreed with Jean.


    Moore followed quietly as they headed outside.


    They went to an authentic Asian Restaurant that served Jean''s favorite dishes such as spicy boiled


    fish, chilli chicken and Kung Pao pork.


    Moore ordered a vegetable dish and soup as well as freshly squeezed fruit juice.


    The dishes were served at once and Jean was having her moment, savoring her meal.


    Tangy and spicy as she had expected!


    The two men saw how Jean enjoyed this meal. They wanted to tell her to take it easy but didn''t want to


    ruin her moment of happiness.


    Then Jean touched her belly and drank her juice with satisfaction.


    She then noticed that Zed and Moore barely ate anything, so she asked, "Is anything wrong? Do you


    find it too spicy?"


    "No. It''s fine," Zed said and looked at her lovingly. "I felt satisfied to see you enjoying your food."


    Upon hearing it, Jean rolled her eyes and said, "You were just surprised with myck of table


    manners."


    "Oh well, you know yourself better. And I''m shocked to know you have such a big appetite," Moore


    <pughed as he joked.
