Chapter 555 Changed Because Of You

Chapter 555 Changed Because Of You

When Zed took a different turn, Jean immediately realized that they weren''t walking towards the

direction of Avery''s room. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, and she asked, "Aren''t we going back

    to Avery''s room?"

"No. Moore is there with her, so what are you worried about?" Zed asked back as he adjusted his hold

of Jean, whom he was carrying behind him.

"Yes, I know that there is nothing to worry about anymore, but don''t you think it''s impolite to leave

without saying goodbye?" Jean replied with hesitation evident on her tone.

"Trust me. Avery will be grateful to us if we leave them alone now." After saying that, a sly smile formed

    on Zed''s face.

Jean''s eyes instantly gleamed at this thought and wondered why she never realized that herself. She

let it go and lowered her head to look at Zed. "You talked to Avery when Moore and I were out, didn''t

    you?"

Zed nodded in agreement and said, "Hmm. She told me that she has liked Moore ever since time

    immemorial."

"I have guessed that," Jean replied. A huge smile betrayed on her face when she said, "I have

observed that Avery has feelings for Moore."

"Well, you are right. You really got it right this time. That''s why I told Avery straight out that we would

help her." Zed couldn''t help sighing as soon as he finished his words. Soon after that, he continued, "I

am no longer the cold guy that I used to be. You know, I just realized that I wouldn''t have said or done

anything like that if it hadn''t been for you. If I haven''t met you, I would still be the same old distant Zed,

who every thought had a heart of stone, but after you, I changed for the better. I''ve changed because of

you, Jean. And to be honest, I like myself better this way."

Jean was pleased to hear Zed say that, so she couldn''t help but show a wider smile. Her eyes sparkled

at that thought. She gave Zed a peck on the cheek before she replied, "If so, I should be your master

    from now onwards."

Zed did nothing but shake his head and chuckle upon hearing Jean''s joke. With a smile stered on

his face, he carried Jean on his back all the way to the parking lot, ignoring the stares that they

received from people they passed by.

As they arrived at the parking lot, Zed gently opened the car door and assisted Jean onto the

passenger seat carefully. Only after that did he turn round and sit on the driver''s seat. When he was

about to start the engine of his car, he saw a young and handsome man with blue eyes and silver hair

get out of a Rolls-Royce Phantom.

The man caught Zed''s eyes. He couldn''t help but stare and mumble, "Adolf."

On the other hand, Jean noticed how Zed stopped to start the car, so she nced towards Zed and

followed the direction of his gaze. He mumbled something that Jean wasn''t able to catch, so without

removing her gaze from the handsome man, she asked, "What? What did you say, Zed?"

Zed gave Jean a quick nce and noticed that Jean was looking at Adolf as well, so he returned his

gaze towards Adolf, who was already leaving the parking lot. "The man we saw just now is Vikki''s

    manager," he exined.

"Oh!" Jean eximed and nodded at Zed. "Well, he probably came to visit Avery then."

Zed''s eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "But just moments ago, Avery told me that she won''t inform her

manager about her situation untilter tonight. She said that when she can have a meeting with her

managerter, she will inform him that she wants to stay here for a longer period of time. I don''t think

she also made a phone call to anyone, since I was with her and never left her side, unless she called

him when we were out." Still, he shook his head for he knew how much Avery didn''t want to let any of

her staff know just yet, so he was bewildered after seeing Avery''s manager at that moment.

"Really?" Jean stared at Zed in shock upon hearing his words. Her hands covered her mouth and her

face turned grave. "Since he''s here now... will anything happen to..." Before Jean could finish, Zed

interrupted her and said, "You stay inside the car. I will go back to the hospital to check." His face

turned grim as well as he got out of the car.

"No, I won''t." Jean hurriedly shook her head, agilely unfastened her seat belt, and struggled to climb

    out of the car.

Knowing how stubborn Jean could be, Zed couldn''t help but sigh helplessly, "Fine, but only if I am

    carrying you on my back."

Jean didn''t see any reason to argue anymore and stopped struggling as Zed carried her behind him.

When Jean was already situated on Zed''s back, she suddenly felt shy and exined, "Zed, I assure

you that the reason I want to go back is not out of curiosity, but because I am a little worried."

Zed started to walk back towards the hospital. As he heard Jean''s words, he felt confused and asked in

bewilderment, "What are you worried about?"

"Well, I sensed how tensed Avery''s manager was. If Avery didn''t tell him about her physical ailment in

person, then he must be in a bad mood to have known the news so suddenly. That''s why I am a little

worried. And then, right now, Moore is still inside the ward with Avery, who has a special and particr

identity. Don''t you think Adolf will be very angry if he finds Avery alone with a strange man inside her

    room?"

    Jean asked with great anxiety.

Zed approvingly nodded and said, "Yes, he might be. Well, let''s hurry up and go there to have a look."

As soon as Zed said that, he quickened his pace and got into the elevator with Jean on his back as

    soon as it opened.

The two of them rushed all the way towards Avery''s room. When they reached the door, Jean pushed it

open, and as they had expected, Adolf stood beside Avery''s bed.

Moore stood on one side, while Avery, who was still lying on the bed, was watching Adolf very

    nervously.

As soon as Avery saw Zed and Jean, her nervous look faded away. A smile ran across her face before

she greeted them, "Zed, Jean, you came!"

"Yes, we came to see you," Jean replied very soon and motioned Zed to walk closer towards Avery''s

    bed.

Zed went over to the bed still with Jean on his back. Then, he ced her down gently and let her sit

down on a chair beside the bed.

As she took the seat, Jean looked up and cast a nce at Adolf, who looked a little gloomy with his

eyebrows tightly furrowed. Apparently, Adolf was in a very bad mood and was on the point of an

    outburst.

Staring at Adolf, Jean pretended to not know him and asked Avery in a disguised manner, "Who is..."

"Oh, let me introduce you. This is Adolf, my manager. Adolf, this is Zed Qi, the CEO of the Qi Group,

and this is his wife Jean,"

Avery exined in haste as soon as Jean asked her, without even letting her finish.

As soon as he knew that the man standing in front of him was the CEO of the Qi Group and the woman

was the CEO''s wife, Adolf''s straight face rxed a little. He immediately walked over to Zed and

politely stretched his hand out to shake hands with him. "Mr. Qi, it''s a pleasure to meet you."

"The pleasure is all mine, Adolf," Zed replied back politely with a tinge of smile on his face.

Deep inside, Jean heaved a sigh of relief under her breath when she noticed that Adolf looked much

more relieved now than when they came in. Then, she turned her eyes on Avery.

As their gaze met, an embarrassed expression was unknowingly shown on Avery''s face. She then

turned to Moore, who stood there in silence, and gave him an apologetic smile.

Jean suddenly understood the embarrassed and apologetic expressions on Avery''s face. Although

Jean wasn''t a fan of any celebrity, this didn''t mean that she knew nothing about the show business.

Many entertainmentpanies generally forbade their celebrities to have a romantic rtionship,

because they feared that their celebrities'' poprity was going to be negatively affected, and even

though there was still a positive side to that, they usually didn''t want to take any risk.

Moments ago, Adolf had unexpectedly appeared in Avery''s ward, so when he saw that Avery and

Moore were alone together, he immediately assumed that they were a couple. ''Because anyway, Avery

and Moore look like an ideal couple, '' Jean thought.

Adolf must have mistaken them and tried to rebuke Avery, or else he shouldn''t have worn a straight

face, and Avery wouldn''t have looked that nervous when Jean and Zed came in.

However, for Moore, it was unfair for him to be misunderstood by Adolf.

At the thought of all these, Jean involuntarily looked at Moore. She saw nothing but a long and gloomy

face on him, staring at nothing in particr as if all the life had been sucked out from him.

Moore turned indifferent at Jean''s gaze as if he hadn''t noticed it. He just stared nkly as he had been.

Seeing Moore like that, Jean couldn''t help but sigh deeply inside her heart. It seemed that things

between Moore and Avery hadn''t gone on as she and Zed had expected.

Jean and Zed had nned to leave Moore and Avery alone in the ward so that they could spend more

time together, have more chances to understand each other and catch up on the memories they had

before. However, the tranquil atmosphere had been ruined by Adolf before Avery could do anything to

confess her love for Moore. As a result, Moore had had an aversion to her love, and the chances of him

''What should I do?'' Jean wondered.

She then shrugged and just asked Moore directly, worry stered all over her face. "Moore, are you

    okay? What''s wrong?"

Moore didn''t want to reply to her at all, but when he saw that all others present were staring at him, he

had no choice but to answer back, "I am fine."

Adolf was a little bewildered at this exchange. He turned to Zed and asked, "Do you know each other?"

Zed nodded and affirmed. "Yes, he is my friend."

Adolf''s eyes widened in surprise and confusion at the same time. "You are friends?" He was clearly

taken aback as his facial expressions suddenly became weirder. Then, he questioned again, "Moore

has been living in Chicago. Mr. Qi, have you ever been to Chicago?"

Jean''s facial expressions suddenly changed upon hearing Adolf''s question.
