Chapter 360 We Should Be Careful Before We Take Any Step

Shirley said with an angry and malicious look.

"Well, your poor father woke up. But ever since he woke up, I get the feeling that he is treating us

slightly differently. On the other hand, Jean has said that she wanted to go back to the Wen Group. In

such a situation, we need to be very careful. Or else she will say something ill to your father and ruin

our family. And then we may lose everything that we have," finished Joy, looking affirmative. Her eyes

lit up in a malicious and calcting manner.

"Mom, so what methods do you think we should take in order to get rid of her?" Hearing what her

mother said, Shirley felt her fears dissipate. A big smile made its way to her face.

"We should be careful before we take any step," said Joy, as she started to think deeply about the

    matter.

"Ok, I will listen to your opinion," Shirley hurriedly replied and nodded her head obediently.

On the taxi, Jean couldn''t help keeping herself fromughing. Her beautifully-arched eyebrows arched

even more on her delighted face. It was evident that she was in a really good mood.

Moore saw that Jean was almost out of breath after all theughing she did. Helplessly, he asked,"Why

do you find it so amusing?"

In his eyes, even the sight of Shirley and Joy was disturbing. He couldn''t believe anyone could feel

    good after seeing them.

Hence Moore was still really confused seeing Jean smiling so happily. ''What is happening to her?'' he

    wondered.

"Haven''t you seen what just happened now? Joy and Shirley both failed toe up with aeback.

My reply left them dumbfounded!" Jean smiled happily and thought about their stunned expression.

"Jean, I always knew you were a capable girl. But you must stopughing like this, or else you will go

crazy." Frowning, Moore noticed sheughed even more now. He didn''t know what to say and waited

    for her response.

"That''s fine. I am just feeling really happy. I have been used and abused by them for so many years

and now I finally make my way and get away from their usation. I am so thrilled! In fact, I am looking

forward to my happy days." As she spoke, the big smile was still stered on her face. But now her

eyes turned red as if she wanted to cry.

Moore also noticed her reddish eyes and he immediately felt sorry for her.

The car fell into a dead silence all of a sudden. Jean stretched out her hand to rub her eyes gently.

Then she turned her head and stared out of the window trying to admire nature. She found herself

    getting lost in her thoughts.

From the window, it was obvious that it was already dusk. Outside, it was packed with hundreds of

thousands of cars on the street. Jean realized this was a rush hour.

Looking at everyone, who was busy making their way in the hustle-bustle, Jean felt quite sad. She had

no idea what prompted this sadness.

Her thoughts went back to her mother. ''What if she didn''t die due to a disease? What if she could have

lived an ordinary life?'' wondered Jean, looking sad and weepy. Everytime she saw Joy, she thought

back to the time she had almost been strangled by her. This incident was beyond her expectation and

    troubled her mind.

As fear had found its ce in Jean''s heart, it would always remind her of her dear mother and make

    her miss her madly.

Jean thought to herself, ''If my mom was still alive now then how wonderful life would have been!

Things would changepletely and my life would have been a dream.

Sadly, my dreams will nevere true because my mother will never be back.''

That was exactly the reason why every time she saw Joy, hatred consumed her.

Jean continued to ponder, ''If it were not because of her, my mom would not have died so young.

I am sure Joy had something to do with her death.''

Thinking of such a likelihood, Jean shuddered with fear. Her mind lingered over on this and she was

confused. Also, she felt a little sad about hiding this fear without sharing it with anyone else.

"What''s wrong with you?" Moore heard Jean shudder and asked looking concerned.

"Nothing. I am fine." Jean shook her head without much strength. While they were talking, the taxi

driver parked the car slowly at the most crowded ce.

Seeing that the ce in front of them was brightly lit as in daylight and crowded by so many people,

Jean shook her sadness off and quickly held Moore''s hand to throw themselves into the crowd.

Moore was feeling dizzy seeing such a big crowd and that''s when he felt Jean''s hand find him.

Suddenly, he was startled and dared not to move.

"Hold me tightly. Or you may me me when you get lost in the crowd," Jean said and passed a bright

    smile to Moore.

"Ok." Moore stared at the smile on her face attentively and nodded to show his submissiveness.

"I have specially searched online and this is the busiest night fair in H City. It is called the Imperial Night

Fair. No matter what kind of snacks you are looking for, you can find and enjoy them here. And most

importantly, almost all the snacks here are original and fresh. You can have anything to your heart''s

    content. Isn''t it great?"

Jean held Moore''s hand and led him inside while she exined about the ce.

Moore gradually came to his sense from the great shock. When he saw the big smile spreading all over

Jean''s face, he realized that he was truly happy to be here. He cared nothing about the fact that he

was surrounded by terrible sweaty odors. The cheap rouge perfume and the disgusting smell mixed

with all kinds of food stopped bothering him. The realization that he could sacrifice everything if it

meant Jean was happy struck him.

He held her hand tightly and followed her to visit every stall here.

Within minutes, there were all kinds of food in both his hands.

Sugar-coated haws on a stick, strong-smelling preserved bean curd, various kebabs and two big

bottles of fresh fruit juice made him have no hands to hold her.

"Eat these to prepare ourselves before we go to have a feast." Jean ate a shish kebab in amusement

as she continued to say to Moore,"Then I will take you to enjoy the fantastic rice noodles in the

restaurant right ahead of us. It is believed that people who go to eat them once can''t stoping back

to have them again and again. However, if you don''t want to eat there, then we have another choice

and that''s the crayfish at the Li Restaurant. Many people have postedments online that the

crayfish there is rather fresh and delicious. It tastes unique and you can never find it in another ce

with the same taste. There are more..."

A lot of yummy snacks kept jumping out of Jean''s mouth. Moore felt quite funny watching her talk with

all the food inside her mouth. For the first time, Moore witnessed the foodie side of Jean.

Moore thought that Jean could have rushed into a restaurant if he was not there with her. He thought,

''But she already has an inviting kebab in her hand. Why does she still look so eager?

It can only be told that she is, undoubtedly, a gourmand.''

When he got back to his sense, he said,"Then we will go and taste everything you want..." A slight and

doting smile crept onto his charming face.

"Bingo! Moore, your thought is just the same as mine," said Jean surprisedly. Her face now turned red

    out of excitement.

Seeing Jean''s excited and jolly face, Moore let out a long sigh deep in his heart. To be honest, he was

kind of worried about his delicate stomach.

Without a doubt, two hourster, both of them rested their hands on their fat bellies and rubbed their

stomachs. They slowed down their paces on the way back to find a taxi.

Jean was more than content with the fun-filled time they had spent. And so was her stomach. Looking

around the snacks surrounding her, she gave her lips a lick as if to eat more. However, her stomach

had already been too full to ept any other food, so she had to leave with a little disappointment. ''I

wille back soon, '' her mind said to the snacks while she left.

"That''s enough. Don''t look at the snacks anymore." Moore watched Jean eyeing the snacks. He

noticed her mouth was watering and it looked like she didn''t want to leave. So he had tofort her by

saying,"When we have time in the future, I promise that I will apany you here to have a big meal."

"Really?" Jean''s eyes lit up again. Her eyes fell on Moore but she looked doubtful.

"Of course, it is true. When have I lied to you before?" said Moore, helplessly and dotingly.

"That''s settled. And no backing out." Jean stretched out her little finger and was about to make him

    promise.

Moore''s eyes rested on Jean''s naive behavior and he also noticed that her face was full of

expectations. So he had no other choice but to stretch his little finger to pull hook with her.

On realizing the deal was sealed, Jean immediately smiled happily.

On the taxi back home, Jean kept burping but the bright smile never disappeared from her fair face.

"Jean, I''d better send you home first. Ok?" Moore asked with concern.

"No." Jean waved her hand as a gesture of refusal and said,"You are a patient. You should get to the

    hospital first."

As she finished saying this, she burped again.

"Ok then. It is better for us to go to the hospital first and have you examined by a doctor. You cannot

keep burping like this." Moore frowned thinking it was a mistake going to the snack-filled ce with her.

"Moore, don''t take everything so seriously. I am only burping. It is not a….. It is no big deal..." Jean

looked out the window and stopped talking.

"What''s wrong?" Moore followed the direction of Jean''s nce. And that was when he spotted Zed in

front of the gate of the hospital.
