Chapter 358 The Hidden Envelope

    Chapter 358 The Hidden Envelope

Moore couldn''t say no to that point. He took a nce at his hospital clothes and helplessly told

Jean,"There''s no need for that. We can eat at a restaurant nearby. But..." He paused,"What would

people say if they saw me hanging around in a hospital uniform. They would mistake me for a mental

    patient roaming free."

Jean burst intoughter on his words and nced at his clothes. "You''ve got a point. Hey Moore, hold

on a second. I''ll be right back..."

    And she hurriedly ran out.

"Jean..." Moore stared at her receding back as she left. He was dumbfounded.

Jean was looking for the top rmendations. Why had she ran out?

Jean felt a pang of guilt on hearing Moore say that he didn''t have any other clothes.

Though he had been in the hospital for a long time now, she hadn''t really done much to care for him.

Moore hadn''t left the hospital since he had been admitted and

she had forgotten to buy any clothes for him.

His mention of clothes had reminded her that she had stored some cash in her old room, so she

    hurriedly pushed in, but

waspletely taken aback when she entered inside.

There was someone else in the room. It had been only two days since she had left, and she hadn''t

    even checked out.

Seeing her burst in, the patient in the room looked at her in surprise.

"Sorry, I want to go to the bathroom badly. Can I use the bathroom, please?" Jean asked in

    embarrassment.

The patient nodded and pointed in the direction of the bathroom.

Jean gave him a quick smile in gratitude and quickly ran to the bathroom.

Closing the door carefully behind her, Jean stood on tiptoe and held her hand forward.

As soon as her fingers felt the envelope, she immediately felt relieved.

She took it down, checked the amount of money inside and hurriedly hid it.

She deliberately washed her hands before she left.

"Thanks!" As she was leaving the room, she thanked the patient once again.

Going back to Moore''s room, she saw that his infusion had already beenpleted and he was resting

    now.

Hearing here in, he opened his eyes. "Where did you go just now in such a hurry?" he asked in

    puzzlement.

"Take it." Jean handed him the envelope with the money inside. "There''s money inside. You should buy

some clothes. You can''t keep on wearing these sickly clothes."

Moore looked at the envelope in her hand with aplicated expression. He furrowed his brows and

asked,"Did you run away to withdraw the money?"

    A mixed feeling overtook him.

"I didn''t withdraw the money. I got it back." Jean looked at him and exined,"Zed gave me this

envelope earlier when I was here, and I hid it in my old room. I got it back just now."

"You hid the money?" Moore''s expression got even moreplicated. He gazed at her for a long time

    without saying anything.

"I am sorry..." Jean knew what he was thinking and immediately apologized. "Zed took back my ck

card, so he gave me the money. I had nned on keeping it safe and using it only in case of an

emergency, so I didn''t tell you."

Seeing her try to exin herself with a worried face, Moore''s anger disappeared.

"It''s all right, Jean. I didn''t mean to me you." Moore sighed,"But I can''t take the money."

"Why?" Jean asked in confusion,"Moore, you just said that you don''t want to me me. Then why

won''t you take the money? Do you want to go out in these hospital clothes?"

"I didn''t mean that. Look. I have enough money to buy some clothes." He looked at her and

exined,"When I first came to H City, I brought some clothes with me, but I hadn''t nned on staying

long. After the car ident, I had someone in the hotel send my clothes over. But I didn''t get a chance

or needed to wear them since I was in the hospital. It''s okay."

Hearing his exnation, Jean felt relieved and said in embarrassment,"I was just worried. Since you

were always wearing the patient garment, I thought that you hadn''t taken the money your parents gave

you. It seems like I overthink too much. But you have to take the money."

Before Moore could react, Jean had already stuck the money in his hand.

"You..." Moore looked at her, a little annoyed this time.

"If you still really regard me as a friend, then don''t refuse." Jean said seriously,"There''s not too much

inside. If you refuse, then you are not my friend."

Even after her threat Moore was unwilling to ept the envelope, but eventually agreed. "All right! I''ll

take it. But after I get a job, I''m paying you back!"

Since he had taken the money now, Jean agreed to his condition and nodded,"Okay. You can think of it

as me lending you the money."

If Jean hadn''t agreed for considering the amount as loan, Moore would have totally refused.

But for now, Jean was just thinking and devising new ways to give him some money from time to time.

As he was new to this city and knew nobody, it wouldn''t be easy to find a job.

"Okay. You change your clothes. We''ll go out somewhere," Jean told him.

Moore nodded, got a set of clothes from the wardrobe and walked into the bathroom to change.

Jean nced around in boredom. She had nothing to do, so she sat in a chair and gnawed her

    fingernails.

Soon the door of the bathroom opened and Moore walked out, pletely refreshed now.

When Jean looked up and saw his new personality, she was dumbfounded.

She had known that he was tall and handsome with delicate facial features, but that he would look so

handsome in a casual T-shirt and jeans was still news to her.

Seeing her stare at him with her mouth wide open, Moore slightly blushed and tidied up his

    clothes,"What? Do I look weird?"

Since he was in the hospital, he had lost much weight

and his old clothes were too big for him now.

"No, it is great. You look very handsome." Jean pped andplimented him.

Hearing her be coy like that, Moore shook his head in disappointment. "Stop making fun of me now!

You already have a real handsome man as a husband!"

"I mean it. I know Zed is handsome, and I have some other good-looking friends who can rival anyone

in H City. But you, Moore, can rival them all."

    Jean told him seriously.

"Okay, okay. I''ll take yourpliment into my heart." Moore knew that they had to stop arguing and

    wasting time. "Let''s go now."
