Chapter 110
Chapter 110 Nancy’s Birthday
After showering. Nancy came out of the bathroom.
She didn’t expect Nichs to be there still. Nevertheless, despite sharing a room, it felt like they no
longer had anything to say to each other.
Nancy had washed her hair, and it was still wet.
As she dried her hair with a towel, she walked around Nichs.
Til help you.” Nichs came over..
“No need. I can do it myself.”
Once Nancy was done blow-drying her hair, she got into bed.
He had already left.
As she watched him leave, she abruptly teared up at the sight.
She said she wasn’t going to cry, but her tears weren’t cooperating. Whenever something struck at
nerve, they would stream down her face without permission. She couldn’t stop it from happening.
She should’ve known. Why would a man as proud as him put up with my indifference and aloofness?
He was always the center of attention. Everyone ttered him and tried to please him. When did he
ever have to please someone else?
It’s good that he left. I won’t have to see him.
If I don’t see him, maybe it won’t hurt.
If I can’t see him, maybe it won’t be as painful.
It’ste. Where would he go?
Well, it didn’t take long tond on an answer. It was obvious.
No matter how many years have passed, Madelline’s still the one in his heart.
In the past, she always thought she feared nothing. She wasn’t afraid of making sacrifices, suffering, or
waiting.
Reality proved her wrong. She was more cowardly than anyone else.
Nancy turned off the lights andy in bed.
s, she didn’t fall asleep. Her eyes were wide open and fixed on the chandelier hanging from the
ceiling.
An indeterminate amount of time passed when, suddenly, someone opened the door.
She heard the sound of footsteps.
Nichs came in..
He didn’t leave? Didn’t he leave to apany Madelline?
Soon, the closet was opened. After taking a set of pajamas, Nichs went to the bathroom. Nancy
heard the sound of water running.
At this moment, she found it hard to decipher Nichs’ thoughts.
It was only when a fresh scent wafted over and a pair of arms wrapped around her slender waist that
she realized he had gotten in bed and was holding her.
“I’m not used to this,” Nancy said as she pushed him away.
“You’ll get used to it eventually,” he replied.
Nancy was angered. She turned around and red at him.
All of a sudden, she lowered her head and bit his shoulder.
She mped down her jaw hard. Nichs soon felt the stinging pain.
Though he groaned in pain, his arms remained tight around her waist. He showed no sign of releasing
her.
Nancy let go of his shoulder and red at him once more. “Let go of me, Nichs,” she hissed.
“No.” This time, he t-out refused her.
He didn’t even give her any room to debate the matter.
Nancy bent down and bit him in the same spot. This time, she used a lot more strength.
She was in so much pain that her heart was about to break. How could he still act like nothing had
happened?
You’re a b*stard, Nichs. What gives you the right to cause me so much sorrow?
Once again, she bit down forcefully, and Nichs started bleeding. The blood soaked through his
pajama top and reached Nancy’s mouth.
She tasted blood.
She looked up to find that Nochs

Why didn’t you move away she questioned.
“Have you vented all your anger yet?” Nichs asked in lieu of answering
At the same time, he reached out to stroke. Nancy’s hair, but she dodged him.
She wasn’t his pet. She wasn’t someone he could pet and stroke when he was in the right mood and
cast aside when he didn’t feel like dealing with her
“Are you still angry” Nichs asked again
Naricy turned around and ignored him.
Since he wanted to hold her, and since she couldn’t get away from hom, the stopped fighting it
When Nichs woke up the room was bright
Most importantly, the other side of the bed was empty Nancy wasn’t beside him
He unmediately gave her a call, but her phone was turned off
Nancy had left bright and early this morning, and when she did, she turned her phone off
She didn’t want anyone to disturb her today. She wanted to spend some me alone
While walking past a bakery, she heard a salesperson talking about a prostion. A careless nceter,
she realized it was her birthday today
Ok, right, 20’s my birthday. I forgot about my own birthday
In the past. Nancy’s birthday was the day of the year she looked forward to the most
Although her family was poor and often in debt, her mother would always buy her a small cake for her
birthday
She loved eating prawna then, so her mother would prepare an entire te of prawns for her-all peeled
and ready to eat.
Despite having tried prawns cooked in various styles by now. Nancy still thought that the he w vor in
the world was the dipping sauce her mother made. Unfortunately, she would never be able to have it
again
At night, all the lights would be turned off.
Het mother would light up the candles on the cake and give her a small tiara. Then, was her
chance to blow out the candles.
Up until her 14th birthday, her wish was the same. She wanted to do well in her studies so that she
could give her mother a good life and get away from her father, the gambling addict.
After that, from the year she met Nichs, she added one more wish. She hoped to meet him. again
someday and to have the chance to remain beside the boy who shone so brightly.
Back then, she had been so timid and careful around him. She never thought she would one day marry
him and be his wife.
That was something the teenage Nancy wouldn’t even dare to dream of. To meet him again was
already a great blessing.
Sometimes, Nancy wondered if everything would’ve been different if she never met him again and
never reentered his life.
He would simply be someone she admired from afar-a distant figure that lit up her heart.
If that were the case, she would never expect anything. She would not have to experience the
heartache and disappointment she felt now.
The bakery was having a promotion. There were a lot of people heading in.
Nancy went in as well.
“Hello, miss. What kind of cake would you like?”
“One with a lot of cream.”
She couldn’t eat chiffon cakes as she was allergic to them. In the end, the salesperson rmended
a strawberry-vored crepe cake. Everyyer of crepe was covered with a thickyer of cream.
Nancy walked out of the bakery with the cake in hand, but she froze in shock when she saw the back of
the silhouette in front of her.
What’s he doing here?
Her body stiffened as she squeezed the handle of the cake box tightly.
Just then, Nichs turned around. His voice was as gentle as ever as he asked, “Why did you leave
the house alone without telling me?”
