    “It’s my fault we don’t have any water, Bernice muttered, and Odell immediately rushed tofort her.

    Feeling the icy atmosphereing from Elio, Bernice fell silent.


    Astrid nced at her, then looked away. “If you’re tired, you can head back the way we came. I’ve


    marked the trees along the path. Mr. Naylor, Elio, and I will go find some food.”


    Bernice, having grown up infort and never experiencing hardship, was indeed struggling. The heat


    was unbearable and she was considering turning back. The cave was boring, but at least it was cool.


    Seeing Astrid leaving, Parrish said to Clyde, “Clyde, you and Odell escort Ms. Bernice back. I’ll protect


    Astrid.”
