Chapter 1148 Sydney Wanted to Give Dallin a Lesson
Sydney took the basket. It was heavy. Sydney frowned. She guessed the basket weighed more than
ten pounds.
Luke helped her put the basket on her desk. "It''s no big deal. My mom knows you like these
products from the countryside, so she brought these from my grandma’s hometown and asked me
to bring these to you. My mom doesn''t get to go to my grandma''s very often. She doesn''t know
when she''s going to visit my grandma next, so she brought quite a lot. She hopes you can enjoy
them whenever you want to have them."
Sydneyughed softly. "Sounds like Auntie made a special trip to the countryside to get me these.
I''m overwhelmed with gratitude."
"It''s no big deal." Luke took an apple from the te on the desk and took a bite. He leaned against
the desk and said nonchntly, "My mom thinks of you as her own daughter. She knew you loved
them, so she brought you some. She hopes you like them."
"I know Auntie loves me. She always brings me all kinds of goodies and I rarely give her any gifts. I
feel guilty." Sydney patted the basket.
Luke chewed on his apple and replied in a muffled voice, "If you feel guilty, go see my mom when
you have time. You don''t need to take any gifts. She doesn''tck anything. You don''t have time to
go to the countryside. How are you going to get those things? My mom will be happy if you go to
see her."
"You''re right. I''ll go see her when I have time." Sydney put the bamboo basket on the floor. "Tell
Auntie I''m thankful."
"Okay. These aren''t expensive things. No need to thank her." Luke waved his hand.
Then he thought of something. He pointed to the basket on the floor and said, "My mom brought
something for Julien, too. She wants you to make soup for Julien with it."
"Make soup for Julien?" said Sydney, looking down at the basket on the floor. "Auntie asked me to
make soup for Julien. What did she bring for Julien?"

She had heard of elderly people preparing those for their sons or sons-inw.
''Is Auntie implying that Julien and I should have a baby?''
Sydney blushed at the thought. She felt embarrassed.
Luke didn''t know what Sydney was thinking. He didn''t notice the embarrassed look on her face. He
finished the apple and threw the core into the trash can. Then he pped his hands and answered
Sydney''s question, "I don''t know what it is. My mom says it''s good for bone healing."
"Good for bone healing?" Sydney was confused.

Seeing Sydney freeze, Luke reached out and waved his hand in front of her eyes and asked, "Syd,
what''s wrong with you?"
Sydney blinked and snapped back to her senses. She then grabbed his hand and smiled
awkwardly. "Nothing. I just thought of something."
"What did you think of?" Luke asked.
Sydney''s eyes flickered. "Nothing. Why did Auntie bring Julien this stuff? Forget what I was
thinking."
Sydney''s thoughts embarrassed her. She couldn''t tell Luke.
She felt ashamed.
''How do I think of an aphrodisiac tonic?'' Sydney pped her burned face and thought to herself.
''It''s all Julien''s fault. Julien always talks to me about those things and I''m misled. I always think of
that...
''Absolutely, it''s Julien''s fault!'' Sydneypressed her lips and thought.
Luke got up from the desk. "It''s simple. Julien broke his arm earlier to save you. Although my mom
doesn''t know exactly how he broke his arms, she knows he did it to save you, so when she went to
the countryside, she got these specifically. She wanted to thank Julien and to ease the guilt you feel
about him."
"I see." Sydney nodded in a daze. She felt warmth inside. Subconsciously, she put her hand over
her heart and said earnestly, "Auntie has always been so good to me. How can I repay her?"
"It''s no big deal. Just go see her when you have time. She always wanted a daughter. She always
watches my face andins about why I''m not a girl. She loves you better than me." Luke
curled his lips and gave an upset look.
Sydney was amused. "Are you jealous of me?"

Sydney then said, "Luke, I need you to do me a favor."
"What is it?" Luke straightened his back and became serious.
Sydney answered with a serious look, "I want you to get me some men."
"What for?"
Sydney replied, "Help me find some gang men."
"Why?" Luke was surprised. His voice rose. He gave a shocked look. "Syd, what do you want to
do? Don’t do stupid things."
Sydney rolled her eyes at Luke. "What are you thinking? How would I do anything stupid?"
"Why do you want to find gang men?" Luke was confused.
Sydney sat down and replied, "I want to teach someone a lesson."
"Teach someone a lesson?" Luke was shocked. Then he came up to Sydney.
"Who?"
Sydney pulled her head back, keeping a distance from Luke.
His face was too close to hers.
"Dallin," Sydney blurted out. She was honest.
Luke blinked. "Dallin from Jackal City? Greta’s father, who had a grudge against Julien?"
"Yes."
"Haven’t he gone back to Jackal City?"
"No." Sydney shook her head. "That''s why I wanted to teach him a lesson. If he''s back in Jackal
City, there''s nothing I can do. Jackal city is his territory."
"You have a point." Luke rubbed his chin.
Sydney continued, "I remember when you were in high school, you made friends with some gang
people. You were kind of their leader at the time, so I want you to help me find some gang men to
teach Dallin a lesson. Can you help me? I''m not sure if you''re still in touch with them, but you
should have their contact info, right?"
