Chapter 849 Sydney Got Robbed
Sydney put down her phone, turned to the manager, and said, "Please pack the dress and suit for
me. I''m going to take them."
"Okay." The manager nodded with a smile. She then took the dress and suit and led Sydney to the
cashier.
After the clothes were wrapped, the manager handed the bags to Sydney. "Ms. Raines, you only
need to pay for the dress and you don''t need to pay for the suit."
"Why?" Sydney paused while she was reaching for her credit card.
The manager exined, "The thing is, Mr. Flint has an annual ount, and Mr. Flint always sets all
his bills at the end of the year."
"Okay." Sydney nodded.
Indeed, many people in the upper ss paid their bills in one lump sum at the end of the year.
"All right then. Take my card." Sydney handed her card to the manager.
The manager took the card, but he didn''t swipe it right away. He asked, "Mr. Flint called and told me
earlier that the bill could all be charged to his ount. Would you like..."

"I''ll pay for the dress." Sydney knew what the manager was going to say. She shook her head, "The
dress is mine. I''ve used his VIP ount. I''m going to pay for it myself."
"I see." The manager smiled and then handed the card to the staff at the cashier.
The manager wondered, ''Aren''t they getting married? Why does Ms. Raines insist on paying for her
dress herself? The dress is expensive though, it is a piece of cake for Mr. Flint. Why doesn''t Ms.
Raines let Mr. Flint pay for it?'' The manager was confused, but she didn''t ask Sydney.
The manager thought it was a private affair, and it would be rude if he asked Sydney about it.
"Ms. Raines, here''s your card." The manager handed the credit card back to Sydney.
Sydney took it and responded with a smile, "Okay. Bye."
"Bye." The manager walked Sydney out of the store.
After getting out of the mall, Sydney headed to her car. She was going to go back to Shallow Bay.
She had been in the store for two hours. It was about 5 p.m. and everyone at Skylight should have
almost finished their work, so Sydney was going home instead of going to the office.
Julien had called her earlier and told her that he would be backte tonight and that he was going
back to Flint Mansion to pick up some stuff after work.
Sydney didn''t know what Julien was picking up.
Sydney came to her car, took the car keys out of her purse, and was ready to get in.
Suddenly, a man wearing a mask, a hat, and a ck jacket walked near from across her.
Sydney didn''t notice anything strange about this man. She thought he was just a passerby, so she
didn''t pay much attention to him.
However, when the man passed her, he suddenly grabbed the bags from Sydney’s hand.
The bags'' handles were fragile and they broke at once.
Both bags fell to the ground and one of the boxes in them hit Sydney''s foot. Sydney let out a groan
of pain.
Immediately, the man took this opportunity to bend down, picked up the bags, and ran away.
After a few seconds of daze, Sydney regained her senses. She realized that she had been robbed.
Despite the pain, she immediately got into her car and chased after the man.
She was shocked to run into such an ident. ‘What a stroke of bad luck!
''Maybe the logos on the bags caught his attention.
''It is a top luxury brand. Whatever was in it, it was worth a lot of money, so it attracted the guy''s
attention.''
Sydney gripped the steering wheel with both hands and fixed her angry eyes on the man who was
running on the sidewalk.
Sydney could only chase him in the traffe.
While she was driving, she pulled out her cell phone and called the police.
Sydney couldn''t pull over by the roadside, so she had to chase the man and see where he would
go, and when the police came, it would be easier for the police to catch the man.
Just as Sydney hung up the phone, the man suddenly ran into an alleyway to the left.
Sydney''s face changed color because she couldn''t drive into the alley and she wouldn''t know where
the man was running.
And it would be hard for the police to find him unless there was surveince in the alley.
"Damn it!" Sydney pped the steering wheel in anger after she found somewhere she could pull
over her car.
Anyone would lose their temper if they were in a situation like this.
She was so angry that her eyes were reddened. She didn''t expect to have such bad luck that she
was robbed as soon as she got out of the store.
However, there was nothing she could do now. The robber had gone.
Sydney was worried. She hoped to get the clothes back soon because the party was tomorrow
evening.
Sydney took a deep breath and calmed herself down. Then she called the police again to tell them
where the robber had gone and asked them to check the surveince over the alley.
The police took her information and told her not to worry and that they would let her know once they
caught the suspect.
Sydney responded with a bitter smile.
What else could she do?
She wouldn''t be able to find the robber herself, so she could only rely on the police.
She worried about how she should tell Julien about it.
He let her pick up the clothes, but they were robbed.
Sydney felt frustrated and med herself.
She let go of the steering wheel and covered her face with her hands.
After a long time, someone knocked on her window. Then she took her hands off her face, her eyes
red, and rolled down the window.
It was a traffic policeman. He reminded Sydney, "Miss, you can''t park here for long. Please get the
car moving."
Sydney nodded slightly and replied in a hoarse voice, "All right. I''ll drive right away. Sorry."
The traffic policeman didn''t say anything and walked away.
Sydney took a deep breath, calmed herself down, and started the car.
The police hadn''t given her any updates yet. They should still be searching for the suspect.
The police said they would let her know once they found the suspect, but Sydney wasn''t sure if the
police would be able to find the man tonight.
Sydney rubbed her brows in annoyance and then stopped thinking about it. She needed to focus on
driving to avoid an ident.
By the time she got back to Shallow Bay, it was 6:30 in the evening.
Sydney threw down her purse and copsed on the couch. She was hungry, but she didn''t feel like
cooking.
She was worried about clothes. She wasn''t in the mood to eat or do anything else until she got her
clothes back.
Sydney bit her lip and looked at her phone quietly, expecting the screen to light up.
However, her phone screen was dark the whole time.
It was dark and the police hadn''t called her yet.
Sydney became more anxious and angrier. And she felt sad. She wanted someone to be by her
side waiting for the police’s call so she wouldn''t be so anxious alone.
Sydney wished Julien was with her at the moment.
She missed Julien.
