    Chapter 838 Sydney Was Tempted

Sydney pulled her hand out of Julien’s and sat down on the couch. "You need to work. You''re not

cheating on me. Even if you can''t spare any time for me, you don''t need to feel guilty. I''m not that

clingy. I don''t need you to be around me all the time. I have work too. When I''m busy, I can''t keep

yourpany either. Neither of us needs to apologize for that."

"OK," Julien said, nodding his head.

"Okay." Sydney patted the couch, gesturing for Julien to sit next to her. "As long as you are not

cheating on me, I’m fine with the other things. We''re adults, and we both have our careers except

for our rtionship. Sometimes we may be too busy to be there for each other, but it''s not anyone''s

fault. You really don''t need to feel guilty."

Julien looked into her eyes and he felt warm inside because he knew she was considerate toward

him. He shed a smile at the corners of his lips, "OK. We are good."

"Let''s have lunch." Sydney grinned. She leaned forward slightly to look at the lunch box Julien was

    carrying. "What''s in there?"

Julien put the lunch box on the coffee table and opened it, "On my way here, there''s a Hunan

restaurant. I remembered that you said you wanted to eat Hunan foodst time, so I ordered some

    Hunan food."

Sydney immediately perked up, "Really? Great! I haven''t eaten Hunan food for a long time! I miss

    Hunan food! Thank you, darling."

Julien was happy. "Come on! Have a taste. Let me know how you like them."

Julien ced the boxes on the table one by one.

Sydney picked up her fork and grinned, "I like them all."

"That''s good. Try it." Julien handed her the fish. "I haven''t had this food, so I''m not sure of the taste,

    but they look delicious."

"They must be delicious!" Sydney smiled. Then she took a bite of the fish.

Immediately, her tongue burned, and her face turned red. It was so spicy that her eyes welled up

    with tears.

    This fish was really spicy.

Sydney opened her mouth, held the fork in one hand and kept fanning her mouth with the other

hand as she grunted, "It''s so hot!"

Seeing Sydney''s eyes and lips turn red, Julien frowned. He hurriedly put down his fork and handed

her a ss of water. "Have some water."

Sydney hurriedly took the ss of water and took a gulp.

The spicy taste was much reduced. She let out a long breath, put the ss down, and blinked her

moist eyes at Julien, who had been watching her. "I haven''t eaten spicy food in a long time. It''s

    burning spicy."

Julien responded, "It''s too spicy. Put it aside. I''ll order some lighter food. Your stomach can''t take

    such spicy food."

"No!" Sydney immediately stopped Julien from taking the food away. "It''s just that I haven''t eaten

spicy food in too long. I need to get used to it after a few bites. There''s no need to order any other

    food. I like them."

"I''m afraid you''ll get a stomachache." Julien frowned. He regretted having bought such spicy food.

''Even if Leaf loves spicy food, I shouldn''t let her eat such spicy food. It''s not good for her stomach.''

Sydney shook her head, "I won''t. Don''t worry. I''ve eaten spicier foods. I know my stomach. I''m not a

    kid."

Anyway, Sydney wouldn''t let Julien take the dishes away.

Seeing the expectant look in her eyes, Julien sighed, "Okay. I won''t take them away, but you have

to promise not to eat too much. If you get a stomachacheter, I..."

"I will be at your disposal." Sydney interrupted him immediately.

Julien narrowed his eyes, "Really? I can do whatever I want to you?" A naughty smirk was in his

    eyes.

Sydney sensed it and her heartbeat raced. She realized she had just blurted out something she

    shouldn''t have said.

''If I allow him to do whatever he wants to me, isn''t it too much?

''Whatever he wants to do to me, I can''t say no.

''Am I asking for trouble myself?''

The corner of Sydney''s mouth twitched. She was trying to find an excuse to deny Julien''s inquiry.

Watching her eyes rolling, Julien knew what she was thinking about. Before she coulde up with

an idea, he said, ''All right. Now that you''ve promised, I''m not taking them away."

Sydney''s eyes widened. "No, that''s not what I meant. I..."

"Go on with your lunch." Julien interrupted her with a smirk and handed her another dish.

This one also had chili in it, but not a lot. Julien guessed it wasn''t as spicy as the fish.

Sydney looked at the dish and then at Julien, and she gave a wry smile.

She knew that Julien did it on purpose.

''He knew I regretted what I had just said, so he interrupted me before I could deny it.

''If I deny it, how could he punish me?

    ''He is a bad guy!''

Sydney pouted in anger. She took a bite of the dish Julien handed her and chewed it hard as if it

    were Julien.

Julien could tell she was angry and she wished she was chewing him. He was amused. Heughed

    lightly and started to eat.

Julien couldn''t eat spicy food. He took a bite of the fish and his face and eyes immediately turned

red. His forehead was sweating. The office was warm, and Julien felt it was too hot and his heart

    flipped.

He put down his fork, pulled his tie loose, and unbuttoned his shirt, exposing his chest, to cool off a

    bit.

Julien then picked up Sydney''s ss of water and drank it up. The water was cold.

After drinking up the water, Julien felt the spicy taste in his mouth fade and he cooled down.

    He felt refreshed.

He leaned back on the couch, putting one hand on his forehead and the other over his eyes.

His lips were scarlet from the spicy fish, his chest was exposed, and the hair at his temples was

drenched in sweat. He looked as if he was a handsome vampire from the Middle Ages, sexy and

attractive. Sydney couldn''t take her eyes off him.

Sydney was fascinated by the man at the moment. She stared at him, without a blink, and couldn''t

    help but swallow.

It was not that Sydney was easily tempted, but Julien was too attractive.

Men liked beautiful women, and women liked handsome men, and so did Sydney. It was not her

fault for being seduced by Julien.

''Julien should be med for being too sexy!''
