Chapter 814 Madeline Wished to Kill Sydney
Hunter sensed the taunt in Sydney''s tone, and the corner of his mouth twitched. "You can''t be
serious, Sydney? Do you expect my foot to be crippled? You were so brutal. I didn''t think you meant
to stomp on my foot so hard. I can''t believe you did!" He gave a shocked expression.
Sydney grunted, "That''s because you tried to stir things up between Julien and me. What you said
was disrespectful to us. Do you understand?" She was a little angry.
Hunter said Julien had a bad temper and that he could lose it at any moment. As Julien''s girlfriend,
Sydney wouldn''t allow anyone to say that about him, especially since Hunter was Julien''s friend.
And Hunter told her to dump Julien to be with him. What did he think she was?

don’t want my foot to be crippled." He gestured to his feet.
Hunter''s shoes had been shiny, but after Sydney had stepped on one of them, there were creases
and dirt on that shoe. It didn''t match the other shoe.
Sydney was amused. "OK. Don’t do it again."
"I get it. I promise I won''t do it again." Hunter waved his hand and lowered his eyelids to hide the
frustration in his eyes.
Hunter was joking, but there was a hint of seriousness in it.
He wanted to know how much Sydney loved Julien, so he deliberately told Sydney that Julien had a
bad temper and that he might lose his temper with women.
If Sydney got hesitant about Julien and believed Hunter, it meant that she didn''t love Julien as much
as she did six years ago, so she might break up with Julien one day. Then, Hunter would have a
chance.
Hunter also knew that it was not decent for him to smear Julien, but everyone was selfish, so he
thought he could give it a try. Hunter didn’t think he had gone too far.
Hunter had intended that if Sydney didn''t love Julien very much, he might do something else to

But if Sydney loved Julien very much, Hunter would give her up.

Sydney told Hunter that she needed some files and he tried everything to get them for her. She
hadn''t thanked him yet but stomped on his foot.
Sydney felt regret. Then she turned to Hunter with guilt, "I''m sorry."
"Why?" Hunter was confused. Then it dawned on him. He smiled and waved his hand, "It''s okay. It
was my fault. I understand. No need to apologize to me."
Sydney tugged her hair behind her ear as she said, "Anyway, I stomped on your foot. How is your
foot? If it hurts..."
"No." Hunter shook his head. Knowing what she was going to say, he interrupted her, "I guess there
are bruises on the top of my foot, but I can walk. It''ll be fine in a few days. Don''t feel guilty."
"But..." Sydney frowned. She tried to say something, but Hunter pointed to the people making their
entrance into the courtroom and interrupted her, "Forget about it! The trial is going to start."
Sydney turned her head toward the entrance. The judges and jury were already in, so she kept her
mouth shut and put on a solemn face.
Soon, the trial began.
Sydney saw Madeline, who was brought in by two policewomen.
Madeline''s hair was cut short. She was wearing an orange outfit and handcuffs were on her hands
and feet.
Sydney could not see the expression on Madeline’s face, but thetter looked dejected.
Madeline looked thinner. She must have had a hard time in jail. The outfit looked baggy on her.

warned.
Hearing the policewoman''s warning, Madeline seemed to remember something and shuddered in
fear. She ducked her head back down and became timid again.
"Madeline was staring at you." Seeing Madeline, Hunter reminded Sydney.
Sydney looked straight ahead and responded, "I know. I noticed that. It seems she wants to kill me."
Hunter eximed, "She''s funny. She started to challenge you at first, but she hates you as if you
shouldn''t be fighting back against her."
Sydney curled her lip and responded, "That''s just what she is. I’m not surprised."
"Honestly, I don''t understand her."
"You don''t understand what?" Sydney turned to Hunter.
