Chapter 722 She Has Been Put in Prison
“I know.” Julien reached out to hook her waist and gently pulled her into his arms. “But I feel
distressed and even regret.”
“Why do you feel regret?” Sydney looked up at him with confusion.
Julien put his forehead against hers. “I regret that I didn’t protect you back then. If I hade to
protect you when I read your letter and got to know that Madeline and Kaylie were bullying you, you
would never have had such a terrible experience.”
‘Moreover, Lyra would not have got the opportunity to cheat me, and I would have married Leaf
earlier. We may even have children now...’
Seeing his guilty expression, Sydney couldn’t help holding his face with both hands and squeezing
it slightly. “Well, don''t feel guilty. It’s not your fault. You were often hospitalized because of your
heart back then. How could youe to me often? Don’t me yourself. Moreover, I was just
bullied by them for a while. After my father discovered what they had done to me, they didn’t dare to
bully me anymore. So, my childhood was quite happy.”
Julien took away her hands that were squeezing his face. “But I still feel I missed many
opportunities to care for you.”
Sydney smiled. “Since you think you missed many opportunities, you can treat me much better from
now on.”
“Certainly.” Julien’s eyes lit up for a moment, and then he embraced her tighter, as if he would never
let go of her.
Although Sydney felt a little ufortable, she understood his current mood, so she didn’t stop him
from hugging her tighter.
Anyway, she could endure it.
“By the way, do you want to know Kaylie’s whereabouts?” Thinking of something, Julien loosened
his hold on Sydney and looked down at her.
Sydney raised her eyebrows.
“Kaylie?”
“Yeah.”
Sydney curled her lips. “When Madeline returned to Port City, I wondered why Kaylie wasn’t with
her. When I went to Kingthenest time, I only saw Madeline and didn’t see Kaylie. I guess Kaylie
may have died.”
“No. She doesn’t die.” Julien shook his head.
Sydney became surprised. “She doesn’t die?”
“Yeah.” Julien nodded.
Sydney sneered, “Well, bad weeds never die. She had cancer six years ago. I guessed that her
cancer must have be very serious and that she may have died. But I didn’t expect she would
still be alive.”
“She’s put in prison,” Julien said.
“What?” Sydney became stunned. Then she straightened up immediately. “She’s put in prison.
Why?”
‘Is it because she poisoned my father? Well… No. It shouldn’t be the reason. She poisoned my
father in Port City, and the police in another country were not responsible for this case. Moreover,
Madeline helped her poison my father. If Kaylie was put in prison due to this, Madeline couldn’t
have been free.’
“Because of manughter,” he exined after stroking Sydney’s hair. “After Kaylie and Madeline
left Port City, they went to Beautrea and got the nationality. They lived a two-year self-indulgent life
with the money taken from Skylight Corporation. As they only spent and didn’t earn money, they ran
out of the money quickly. Besides, they were not the kind of people who worked hard to make
money. So...”
“Do you mean that they became prostitutes?” Sydney asked.
Julien nodded. “Almost. They went to a nightclub and wanted to hook up with some rich men. In this
way, they didn’t have to worry about their future life. Madeline was young, and many men liked her.
She soon messed about with a rich man. Though Kaylie was not young, she still had some charm.
Some men liked women of her kind. Then an old man picked her up and kept her secretly. The old
man even prepared to divorce his wife for Kaylie.”
“Stop,” Sydney signaled for him to stop. Then she swallowed and made a bold guess. “Then the old
man’s wife discovered Kaylie. When she went to Kaylie, she was killed, right?”
“Yes. You’re so smart.” Julien chuckled and stroked her hair.
Sydney took his hand away from her head. “Don’t stroke my hair. It gets messy now. You tidied it up
for me just now.”
“It doesn’t matter. I’ll tidy it up for youter,” Julien looked at her and replied.

Sydney felt resigned. “Well, stroke it if you like. Tell me how Kaylie killed the old man’s wife.”
“The old man’s wife couldn’t ept that her husband was going to divorce her. She found out about
Kaylie and went to meet her in a rage. During the quarrel with Kaylie, she was pushed down the
stairs by Kaylie identally and died on the spot.”
“Yuck...” Sydney suddenly took a gasp. “The old man’s wife was too unfortunate!”
‘Kaylie is really a monster. She not only murdered my father, but also killed the woman abroad.’
‘Such kind of person should rot in hell.’
“Did Kaylie kill the old man’s wife intentionally or identally?” Sydney asked with a frown.
‘Kaylie is a vicious woman by nature, so it is possible for her to kill others.’
‘Moreover, Kaylie even poisoned her own husband. It is all the more possible that she killed the old
man’s wife intentionally.’
“The police found out that Kaylie killed the old man’s wife identally. But who knows if she did so
identally or intentionally?” Julien gave a sneer.
Sydney looked at him. “How many years was she sentenced to prison?”
“Five years,” Julien replied.
Sydney widened her eyes in disbelief. “Only five years?”
“That old man had some power, and he helped Kaylie. But isn’t it a good thing?”
Julien picked up a lock of her hair and kissed it lightly.
Sydney frowned. “Why is it a good thing?”
“Kaylie was not only put in prison, but also her nationality was cancelled. When her sentence ends,
she will be deported back. Then you can avenge our father’s death,” Julien exined while putting
down her hair.
Sydney flushed, and she shot a re at him. “Our father? That’s my father.”
“There is no difference. I’ll call him father in the future,” Julien said cheekily with a smile.
Sydney shook her head with resignation, not refuting his words. “But you’re right. Kaylie shouldn’t
get away with poisoning my father because she is in prison abroad. She has killed two people. She
is now in prison for killing the old man’s wife. When shees back, she must pay the price for
poisoning my father,” Sydney said gravely while clenching her fists.
Julien raised her chin. “Don’t worry. She’ll definitely pay the price. Don’t frown. It doesn’t look good.”
“What? Do you despise me?” Sydney squinted at him.
Julien rubbed her knitted brows with his thumb. “No. I just think you don’t need to get angry with
such a person. She doesn’t deserve your attention, and you don’t have to be unhappy.”
Sydney lowered her eyes. “I know. But Kaylie is a thorn in my flesh. I get angry the moment I think
about her. I’ll feel relieved and happy only after removing the thorn.”
“I know.” Julien rubbed the top of her head with his chin. “But now you can rx, because Kaylie is
not in front of you. It’s I who am in front of you. Look at me.”
