    Chapter 214 Unfair Treatment

    Chapter 214 Unfair Treatment

Ranita was afraid that the two of them would start fighting, so she signaled to Dn, "Dn, you go

    back first."

Dn hesitated for a moment and gritted his teeth in anger but still obediently left. He even helped

take out the trash before leaving.

Ranita walked him to the door and reminded him, "Remember to sort the garbage and stay safe on

    your way back."

    The door closed behind Dn.

Inside the apartment, tension hung in the air.

"Can you exin what happened?" Brendon asked.

"He helped fix a leaky pipe and got his clothes wet. It''s not what you think," Ranita pursed her lips.

"He couldn''t wear my clothes so I took yours without asking. I''m sorry for not consulting with you

    first."

"It''s my fault. I''ll buy you another shirt," Brendon grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer until she

    sat on hisp unsteadily.

Brendon looked fierce as he asked again, "You''re not lying?"

"There''s no need for me to lie," Ranita lowered her eyes. When they met again, there was a faint

lipstick mark on Brendon''s white shirt cor that belonged to someone else''s and perfume scent

that smelled sweet but prickly like thorns.

Ranita felt wronged by it all; why did men have such bad tendencies? Even though he was hurting

her himself, he could still me it all on her with such conviction!

"I''ll trust you one more time! You can keep the shirt!" Brendon pressed his hand against Ranita''s

waist as if trying to get closer while asking nonchntly, "Did you have breakfast this morning?"

    "I already ate!"

"Well I haven''t yet..." Brendon rested his forehead against hers, his tone casual, breath brushing

against her nose, and his lips kissed the corner of her mouth.

This made Ranita feel flustered inside; she asked him nervously, "Are we okay now?"

"I trust you," just those few words made Ranita feel like she had stepped into mud up past her

ankles. Looking at Brendon encouraged herself maybe she should gather up some courage...

    perhaps there was still hope?

"Brendon... I want to say... we shouldn''t..." She didn''t finish speaking because then Brendon''s

phone rang from inside his pocket interrupting them both.

Ranita moved away to watch Brendon answer the phone.

Brendon nced at her, "It''s Shannon''s call. I''ll take it."

"Up to you." Ranita''s opinion didn''t matter much. She sat quietly, flipping through a magazine, but

her mind was elsewhere, unable to focus on anything.

"Shannon, what''s wrong?" The man''s voice gently rang out, sounding more tender than usual.

    He was different with Shannon.

Ranita couldn''t hear what Shannon said clearly. Brendon quickly hung up, saying, "Ranita, I rushed

out earlier and left behind some documents. Shannon offered to bring them over."

    "You..."

"Okay!" Ranita generously agreed. Even if she didn''t agree, Shannon would stille over. There

was no need to waste any more words.

    Shannon arrived quickly.

She stood at the door wearing a pretty little dress, looking like a delicate youngdy who had been

    pampered since childhood.

"Sorry for bothering you, Ranita!" After speaking, Shannon''s gaze fell on Brendon as she handed

him the document, "Brendon, why did you rush out so quickly? You even forgot your things."

Brendon took the document and was about to speak when Shannon stepped forward and asked,

"I''m a bit tired. Can Ie in for some water?"

Ranita didn''t want her toe in.

"Miss Murphy..." Just then, a delivery guy came with a bouquet of red roses.

The bouquet was beautifully packaged and looked familiar. Ranita''s heart thumped as she watched

while Shannon happily went up to receive the roses.

"Brendon, did you send me these flowers? They''re so beautiful! I really like them!"

Shannon coquettishly threw Brendon an alluring look.

The delivery guy took two steps back hesitantly and looked at Shannon, "Excuse me! These flowers

are for someone named Miss Bowman. Are you her?"
