"Chris! What... what are you doing?" Ranita was so scared that she even huped, and she called
Chris by his first name.
Chris chuckled twice and found Ranita a little cute.
He poked Ranita''s forehead with his hand. "What are you thinking about? I called Steve, and he
asked me to prepare some warm water for you. He''ll be here in about fifteen minutes."
"Is that okay?"
Ranita felt embarrassed by what he said and nodded quickly. "Yes, it''s fine."
"I''m going out now. Let me know if you need anything!" Chris paused for a moment before adding,
"Your clean clothes are on the shelf."
Chris left but thoughtfully closed the door behind him! Ranita locked the door with her weak legs,
washed her face with water while holding it in her hands, and sshed cold water on her skin to
clear her mind a bit.
The bathtub was filled with warm water. After taking off her clothes, Ranita soaked herself in it and
immediately felt extremelyfortable! The effect of the medicine had probably worn off somewhat;
as she became more sober-minded again, everything that had happened between Brendon and
herself became clearer.
"Oh no! What am I going to do?" Ranita felt like she was going crazy. However, at that time under
those circumstances there wasn''t much control over what happened!
Ranita''s mood wasplicated.
"Knock knock!" There came a knocking sound from outside the door, "Ranita, Steve is here."
"Okay! I''ming out now!" Ranita responded and quickly got out of the bathtub. As she dried

After getting dressed andposing herself, she finally opened the door and went out. Steve, while
checking on her, asked, "Feeling better now?"
Chris wasn''t stupid, and he could tell that something was off with Ranita''s state of mind. Steve,
being a doctor, also understood what was going on, but neither of them asked too many questions.
"I''m feeling better!"
Steve paused for a moment and saw that Ranita''s mental state had indeed improved significantly.
"I''ll give you a shot, so rest well! Come to the hospital tomorrow and I''ll do a detailed examination
for you."
"If you still feel ufortable at night, take another bath. But don''t use water that''s too cold." In
fact, using cool water would be more effective. However, since Ranita was pregnant it wouldn''t be
good to soak in cold water; it wouldn''t be worth the risk if she caught a cold.
"Thank you Dr. Pearson!" Ranita said before turning to Chris, "And thank you Mr. Webster!"
"Don''t mention it! I have some things to attend to so I''ll leave first." Chris politely excused himself
while Ranita wanted to see him off but was stopped by Steve, "Don''t tire yourself out. Rest well!"
"I''ll just walk out with Chris then!"
Ranita was exhausted and almost fell asleep as soon as she touched the bed. However, her sleep
wasn''t very peaceful because all she could dream about were Brendon''s strong arms and sturdy
chest.

Shannon was still angry with Brendon; she wanted him to exin himself but waited all night
without hearing from him.
Finally unable to bear it any longer, Shannon swept everything off her desk in frustration.
Fortunately, tonight''s events hadn''t leaked yet. If people who attended the banquet found out about
them, they would surelyugh at her!
"Ranita!" Shannon gritted her teeth when suddenly her phone rang. It was one of her friends from
