She anxiously stared at Sean without blinking her eyes.
After listening, Sean furrowed his brow and said, “Why are you panicking? Would I really not give it to
you? As long as things work out, what I promised will be given to you.”
“Isn’t it already worked out?” Vivi pursed her lips. “Boris is on the verge of death. While he’s
unconscious these days, you can definitely take down the Lewis family. I’ve already helped you achieve
your goal. You better give me the money quickly.”
In fact, she was ready to leave.
Even if Boris didn’t die, he would still end up in prison. The charges of running a casino and kidnapping

Vivi felt uncertain and changed her mind when she faced those gloomy eyes. “Give me half of it first,
then I’ll trust you.”
“Fine.” Sean transferred half of the money to her, and a smile finally appeared on Vivi’s face. “When will
you take action against the Lewis family?”
“When the police have the results.”
In truth, Vivi didn’t care about Sean or the Lewis family’s matters. Since she couldn’t gain anything from
them, she asked these questions only to find out when she could get the remaining half of the money.
She nodded and said, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll leave.”
Sean watched her figure receding into the distance, a sinister smile creeping across his face.
Early the next morning, over a dozen police cars surrounded Steven’s gamingpany building.
They made a grand entrance, with dozens of police officers rushing into the office building.

His countenance appeared weary, with bloodshot eyes, indicating ack of proper rest. Additionally, a
hint of stubble had sprouted on his face.
“Officers! Greetings! Wee!” He seemed unsurprised by their presence. “It’s a pleasure to have you
here. Quite a gathering today, right? So, would you prefer tea or coffee? I’ll have my secretaries
prepare it for you!”
“No need.” The police officer stated matter–of–factly. “We have received information suggesting that
your gaming enterprise is involved in running a gambling establishment. We are here to conduct an
investigation and gather evidence.”
“This is an injustice!” Steven eximed, disregarding his appearance, “Whoever spread these baseless
and defamatory rumors must be blind and devoid of conscience! I am an honest andw–abiding
citizen! Who falsely used me of such malicious intent? I’ll make sure to tear their mouth apart!”
The police officers fell into silence.
Steven, despite his handsome appearance, suddenly sounded like a virago.
“Alright, enough crying. The information we possess indicates your involvement in illegal activities,
such as operating a gambling establishment. We will be investigating your gaming enterprise,” the
officer said sternly.
Steven forcefully wiped his tears. “Fine! I conduct myself honorably andwfully! If I haven’t done
something, then I haven’t! Go ahead and investigate! Even if you search through my underpants, I
haven’tmitted any crimes!”
With his consent obtained, the police officers immediately sprang into action.
However, after three hours had passed, they had exhausted all avenues of investigation without a trace
of alleged online gambling.
Once again, Steven began his howling. “Officers, have you been deceived? Who is responsible for
this? Not only have they falsely used an upstanding citizen like me, but they have also made you
run around in circles! We must apprehend her and ensure she faces imprisonment! Such despicable
behavior cannot be tolerated!”
The police, having achieved no results, offered their solemn apologies before reluctantly departing from

police, both Steven and Boris would go to jail?”
“How would I know?” Sean gritted his teeth, seething with anger. “They probably anticipated me!
Maybe they have been wary of me all along!”
Suddenly, he vividly remembered that when Boris visited him yesterday, he knew that he was Erkan!
“That must be it!” Sean eximed out of the blue, “Certainly! He might have been ying tricks on me
all along!”
Vivi eximed in astonishment, “What? What do you mean?”
