Chapter 390 Show Me What You’ve Got

“Secondly, cloud data privacy is nothing new. Besides, when ites to cybersecurity, Mr. Wheeler, yo

u were once my hopeless subordinate. This so–called advantage means zilch.”

Under J’s casual gaze, Nigel suffered a crushing defeat.

Of all people, he had to fall for the one hacker who could overpower him so

    easily!

“Then… the Wheeler family’s status and connections are well known. They

could bring the club a sizeable new clientele!”

Refusing to give in, Nigel sought to gain ground by bringing up his

    connections.

“The barrier to entry in motorsport is inherently high. Mere acquaintances do not make a customer bas

    e.” J shot a look at the gritting–his–

teeth Nigel, fond exasperation for a fool written all over her face.

“The Wheeler family could provide top–notch personal ident insurance!”

“My long–term partners already satisfy our needs.”

“I can guarantee a steady supply of functional beverages!”

“We have professional nutritionists and run medical checkup institutions.”

Utterly defeated, Nigel regretted pursuing a woman with such extensive reach.

Deted like a burst balloon, Nigel slumped into the passenger seat,

    bitterness etched on his

face. “Alright, alright, you take the lion’s share, I make do with scraps. Satisfied?”

J parked the sports car with precision. Undoing her seat belt, a smile

tweaked her lips, exuding perfectposure and control.

As they exited the vehicle, Nigel called over the roof.

“What, you’re not afraid I’ll use this deal to chase you now?”

Though J hadn’t conceded an inch, agreeing to discuss cooperation showed her anger had passed

    . Nigel’s anxiety finally eased.

Bag in hand, J’s graceful gait blossomed with every stride. Her words reeked of challenge.

“No businessman would turn down money. How you choose to chase me is. your problem. Show me w

hat you’ve got if you want to be worth my time.”

The obvious provocation in thatst line fuelled Nigel’s desire to conquer. He yelled at J’s leaving b

    ack.

“Just wait! I’ll make you mine!”

Without a look back, J left Nigel with only her uncaring shape.

Gazing at the woman he longed for from afar, Nigel could barely contain his ardor. Was J hinting s

he might give him a chance?

He would pull out all the stops to prove his worth! Nigel clenched his fist, silently resolved.

Stepping into the Longfellow Group building, J shed the teasing air she

had worn with Nigel and assumed an imperious manner befitting her status.

“Notify everyone to assemble in the conference room in 5 minutes. We will finalize cooperation with the

    Wheeler family.”

J valued efficiency above all else and had no patience for empty

    formalities.

Half an hourter, she announced the cooperation to relevant departments and assigned follow–

up tasks before concluding the meeting. She then summoned the general manager of Multiple Star’s e

    ntertainment division.

“Few new artists were signedst month, only two contest singers and a Film Academy junior.” Imp

ably made–up, the artist GM reported from two paces before J’s desk in a crisp suit.

“Both singers are professionally trained, and one previously ran her own studio and has a loyal fanbase

. I n to have them appear on Crimson Channel’s music variety show. With their skills and fresh imag

    e, it’s sure to be

    a hit.”

“Though the junior recently caused some trouble.”

Stealing a nce at J’s poker face, the GM swallowed hard and reluctantly

    admitted.

“He yed a likeable role in that blockbuster New Year’s film, gained

lots of fans, and let it go to his head. He was recently filmed arguing with airport staff in the capital, eve

    n shouting curses…”

J leaned back, softly blowing the wisps of steam from her coffee, lips

    curving.

    “And your PR response?”

“We’ve already released statements to shift focus. But clearer footage of the incident seems to have be

en bought out, and public opinion isn’t optimistic.”

J tapped her pen on the desk with finality.

    “A private apology is non–

negotiable. Also, work with Marketing and PR to me mimunication from his busy schedule. If re

    putation keeps

    dropping, cut our losses.”

Learning the trade began with learning how to behave. An artist with wed character would never go f

ar. Though Multiple Star paid a high price to sign him initially, timely cutting losses was the epitome of

    wisdom in J’s

    business principles.

The GM gathered the documents and nodded. “Any other orders, Ms.

    Longfellow?”

“Contact Doris‘ agent and sign her to an exclusive contract.”

    J hadn’t forgotten Donahue’s requestst night.

As she was issuing instructions, Marco rapped on the door and strode in, happening to catch J’s di

    rective.

The GM couldn’t fathom J’s sudden interest in that model. Marco, however, immediately thought of

st night’s news about Donahueiel meeting some budding model. Indignant, he took several quick

    steps over.

“Ms. Longfellow, are you aiming to rein in that unruly minx?”

Usually emotionless, Marco now showed annoyance clear on his face.
