Chapter 386
Chapter 386 How Dare He?
Doris knew that better than anyone else. That was why she insisted on thanking Donahueiel.
Otherwise, if it affected Peaceral Jewelry at any level, she couldn’t afford the
loss she caused.
Just from appearance, Doris realized the man standing in front of her was
someone with money and power. She was aware that he didn’t help her because he wanted her.
But he seemed to be particrly concerned about Peaceral Jewelry. Could he be one of the executives
that she had never seen before?
Donahueiel turned to Gilbert and asked, “Give it to me.”
Gilbert secretly suppressed a smile as Donahueiel exined why he saved Doris. And when he heard
Donahueiel’s words, he acted like he didn’t know what Donahueiel was talking about and asked, “Give
you what?”
“The VIP card.” Contempt shed across Donahueiel’s eyes as he replied. He was pissed by Gilbert’s q
uestion.
Gilbert came here often. Thus, the manager gave him a VIP card that he could use in other chain bars
all around the country.
Donahueiel took the card, handed it to Doris, and said in a deep voice, “If it’s not convenient for you to
go home, you can stay in the private room here. With this card, the bartender will guarantee your safety
.”
Before Doris could refuse, Donahueiel picked up his Donahueielet and left with
Gilbert.
Doris stood there with the car in her hands and thought about something as saw them walking away.
The music in the bar was still ying, and no one noticed a few shes of light
and a slight shutter sound in the corner.
In the Longfellow’s mansion…
“This is so good! Even the chefs in the top–notch restaurants can’tpare with you, Donahue!”
J swallowed the tender pieces of steak in her mouth with satisfaction.
She didn’t understand why Donahue was able to cook this kind of tasty food when he had too much on
his te every day.
His sleeves were rolled up and an apron was tied around his waist, Donahue brought out two tes of
macaroni with gravy from the kitchen.
Seeing J eating and praising, a gentle smile appeared on Donahue’s
serious face.
“d you
like it. You lost a lot of weighttely. I was worried.”
Donahue sat in front of J, and his eyes shifted to her thin shoulders and pointed chin.
A bright smile appeared on J’s face, and she praised without hesitation, “I was just thinking that the
girl who will marry you will be so lucky!”
Hearing J bring up this topic, that morous and slender figure shed
through Donahue’s mind, and there was an inexplicable feeling in his heart.
“How long are you going to stay in America this time, Donahue? If you’re not in
a hurry, let’s eat out sometimes,” J took a sip of the orange juice and asked.
Her tone was casual.
Quintina had been sent to a mental hospital, and thetest jewelry of Peaceral Jewelry
was selling out great. J is in a good mood. Before Donahue
left, she wanted to call Olive and Marvin and throw a party for Donahue.
Donahue thought about his recent arrangements, and just as he was about to nod, his phone buzzed.
Bryan called.
Donahue’s eyes darkened, and he picked up without hesitation.
“I’ve already sorted out the relevant information about Doris, Mr. Smedley.”
“OK. Send it to me.”
After hanging up the phone, Donahue received an email from Bryan and clicked it open.
With the spoon in her mouth, J quietly nced in Donahue’s direction.
She knew Donahue had elegant table manners, and he
never answered phones or checked emails during meals. So why was he doing that now?
“Did something happen, Donahue?”
J put down the fork and looked at Donahue with a serious expression.
“Nothing serious. Just work, you know. Don’t worry about it.”
Donahue responded briefly and quickly scanned the phone screen with his
fingers.
The email was very short and took him two minutes to read through it. Then, Donahue knew almost ev
erything about Doris.
ording to the email, Doris was an orphan. She had her first boyfriend when
she was in college. Her boyfriend was the son of the CEO of Skyline
Entertainment Company.
Her boyfriend was not a decent guy. He recently hooked up with an investor’s daughter.
Donahue’s narrowed his eyes and his sharp gaze almost pierced through the
screen.
The phone vibrated again, and a notification of entertainment news popped in.
“A beauty was saved by the president of the Webster Group, Donahueiel
Webster! Mr. Webster encountered a young model and beat up a man for her!”
Seeing Donahueiel’s name, Donahue silently raised his eyes and nced at
J, then clicked on the news.
The lights in the bar were dim and the photos were blurry.
But Donahue could tell with just one nce that the slender figure protected by Donahueiel was Doris.
In thest photo, it seemed that Donahuelel had given her a card.
Donahue pressed the button, and the phone screen returned to ck.
“Why did Donahuelel have to find someone I am interested in if he wants women?” Donahue thought in
rage.
He looked down to hide the anger in his eyes and asked J, “Did you sign
that model?”
Although J didn’t understand why Donahue suddenly mentioned Doris,
she still answered honestly, “Just signed the contract for the jewelry promotion. Didn’t sign other contra
cts.”
Donahue nodded, and said with a firm tone while cutting her steak, “Sign her,
including all the brokerage contracts.”
“She did well this time, but I don’t think she isn’t prepared for all that.”
J was a little puzzled. Even though Doris had an outstanding appearance
and strong fashion expressiveness, which J liked very much, in terms of
J looked suspiciously at Donahue. She knew Donahue was a calctive
businessman. He wasn’t someone that could make this kind of deal.
“It doesn’t matter. Artists are forged. She is young and hard–working. It is not
difficult to spend some time to make her famous.”
Donahue insisted calmly, trying to hide his feelings about Doris.
“You are right, but…” J touched her chin, then she nced at Donahue
with a teasing look and approached him slowly.
“You’ve always been a genius businessman who only wants money. You
would actuallye up with such a n? Tell me the truth, Donahue! Do you like her?”
Facing J’s
direct question, Donahue didn’t say anything in response. He just ignored her probing gaze, picked
up the napkin and wiped his mouth, then
walked to the staircase.
J’s eyes were glued to Donahue. Finally, Donahue couldn’t take it anymore
and answered with a firm tone.
“So what if I like her?”
