Chapter 257 She Must Not Die

Orion had been busytely, dealing with matters of the heart, family, and career, leaving him with little time to meet with Elijah. So he was unaware of what had happened to Joan Lowe.

Freya nced at Elijah. Knowing his personality, he wouldn’t voluntarily share his personal matters with others. So Freya spoke up for him, “This patient is Elijah’s mother.”

“What?!!” Orion almost blurted out “What the hell?” What was going on here? The news was too shocking. Someone who had been dead for over a decade suddenly alive in this world. Anyone would be surprised.

Freya continued, “That’s right. As for how she was saved and survived, it’s a convoluted story, and we’re not entirely sure of all the details.”

Orion took a while to digest this news. It was simply unbelievable! Although Orion hadn’t noticed what Elijah had been up to recently, he was well aware of the previous events involving Headence Group. After all, he was a businessman now too.

“So, because of this, you let Thorne and Headence Group go?” Orion, although guessing, spoke with certainty, as Thorne Silverton had already fallen into the trap set by Elijah. As long as Elijah didn’t let go, both Thorne and Headence Group would be finished.

As for why Elijah suddenly spared the Silverton family, Orion had never understood why.

    So, this was the key?

Elijah nced at Orion, saying nothing, and then he took Freya’s hand and left. Outside the hospital’s entrance, Elijah let go of her hand and said, “You go back first. I have something to take care of.”

Freya had a good idea of what he was going to do and said, “You’re going to see Eric Lowe, right?”

After all, Joan Lowe’s condition couldn’t be dyed any longer. Elijah remained silent, as if confirming her assumption. Freya straightened out his uncreased cor.

“I support whatever you do, and I’ll always stand by your side.” Said she.

    Elijah held her hand tightly.

Freya smiled. “Go ahead. I’m not going to work today. I’ll be at home, cooking and waiting for you toe back.”

    “Mm.” Elijah murmured softly.

Freya watched as Elijah drove away. She stood on the steps, watching the car until it disappeared from sight. Then she walked down the steps and stood by the roadside, trying to hail a taxi.

Suddenly, her phone rang. Freya answered the call. On the other end, Sivin Peters sounded urgent. “Hurry ande to the hospital.”

    “What happened?” Freya asked.

    “Juste quickly.” Sivin replied.

“Okay, okay, I’m on my way.”

He continued to urge her, “As fast as you can.”

Unable to find a taxi, Freya grew anxious. She had never seen Sivin Peters so flustered before; something big must have happened. Fortunately, she didn’t have to wait long before a taxi arrived. It took her about half an hour to reach the hospital. As soon as she arrived, a nurse approached her. “Dr. Peters asked me to bring you to the operating room.”

“The operating room?” Freya was puzzled. “Is there an emergency surgery today?”

“Yes, a critical patient just arrived, and Dr. Peters is personally performing the surgery,” the nurse exined.

Freya understood and quickly washed, disinfected, and changed into surgical attire before entering the operating room.

“Dr. Peters.” she approached Sivin Peters.

When he saw her, he immediately said, “Come here.”

As she got closer, Freya realized that it wasn’t a heart surgery but a craniotomy. As if sensing something, she immediately looked at the patient’s face. And there she saw Joan Lowe. Her face turned pale.

Sivin Peters exined, “She suddenly copsed, and Eric Lowe brought her here. We took some scans and found intracranial bleeding. The situation was critical, and I had to operate. I wanted to save her.”

Freya didn’t pay attention to what Sivin Peters was saying. She only had one thought: Joan Lowe must not die.

Elijah had just found her. She hadn’t even remembered Elijah yet. Joan Lowe must survive no matter what.

    Suddenly, the heart monitor beeped!

    Blood pressure dropped sharply!

    Protein levels decreased!

    Various rming conditions urred.

“Oh no,” Sivin Peters, for the first time, lost hisposure on the operating table.

“Prepare for extracorporeal cirction,” Freya said.

The assistant doctors cooperated, desperately trying to save the patient. Sivin Peters handed the surgical scalpel to Freya. “You take over.”

Freya widened her eyes. She had never performed a brain surgery before, especially one this risky.

    Suddenly, the heart monitor’s beeping turned into a tline.Content ? N?velDrama.Org.
