“So, it’s impossible for Elijah to like me, right?” asked ra.
Xander thought to himself. “You? Even if nothing happened to you, Mr Silverton would never like you.”
He couldn’t say that out loud though.
“Yes, because Arwen Silverton ruined your chances.” Xander said instead.
Even if Xander didn’t continue to push ra’s hatred towards Arwen Silverton, ra already held a grudge against her. “I hate her,” she said.
Xander yed back the recording and said, “Based on my observations of ra, she really does hate Arwen Silverton. It doesn’t seem fake.”
Freya interrupted and asked impatiently, “Can you tell me what’s going on now?”
Xander looked at Elijah for permission before exining everything. He ended with saying that ra was still in the hospital.
Freya breathed a sigh of relief knowing it had nothing to do with Elijah. It turned out that ra acted the way she did because she believed Arwen Silverton’s lies and was used by her. This made Freya realize how easily someone could destroy a woman’s reputation and made her wary of Arwen Silverton since she was now involved with Elijah.
Freya let out a sigh of relief, which confirmed Xander’s suspicion. He deliberately smiled and said, “You didn’t think that Mr Silverton was the one who made ra Montague like that, did you?''”
Freya stayed silent but Xander knew what that meant – he had hit the nail on the head.
Elijah shot him a cold look, and he instantly became timid. He made an excuse and said, “I have something to do…”
“Wait.” Elijah stopped him. “Take the file on the desk and give it to ra Montague. Let her give it to Arwen Silverton. Do you know how to tell her?”
Xander said, “Mr Silverton, I know what to do.”
“Okay, go.”
Xander took the file and left the office.
“What kind of file is it?” Freya asked curiously as Elijah held onto her hand tightly.
“A file that will make sure we catch our prey.” He replied confidently.
Freya turned her head to look at him. His facial features were distinct and deep, and at this moment he looked particrly charming with his confident and strategic demeanor.
She realized that she was bing more and more infatuated with him.N?vel(D)rama.Org''s content.
There was a high-end breakfast restaurant across the street from theirpany. The food inside was exquisite and delicious, making it a popr spot for business meetings over breakfast.
“I want to pick up my work again,” Freya suddenly said. She had already handed over her work to Zane Stone, so now she had nothing else to do but focus on achieving her dreams.
Elijah said, “I can support you.”
“No,” Freya immediately refused. She couldn’t stay at home forever; she had dreams of her own and wanted to achieve something for herself.
If Elijah kept trying to confine her within the household or treat her poorly, it would be detrimental since she also possessed valuable skills in other areas of expertise.
“Okay then, which hospital do you want me to help you get into?” Elijah asked.
“No no no,” Freya interrupted before he could finish speaking. “I don’t want any special treatment, I just want to rely on my own abilities as far as they can take me.”
After all, if she didn’t have enough technical skills for a certain position or job title then it would only harm others if she were promoted too quickly without adequate preparation or experience. She wanted to take things step by step in order not only improve herself but also avoid causing problems for others along the way.
Elijah smiled. “Alright then, I’ll leave everything up to you from now on… but…”
He changed the subject abruptly, “In case anything like this happens again in the future just ask me directly instead of bottling everything up inside.”
Freya nodded lightly; indeed, she did not do well this time.
“I should have trusted you.”
If Elijah hadn’t found out and she had continued to be suspicious, it would have affected their rtionship, which had just started to develop and was not yet rock solid.
Elijah picked up a steamed dumpling and offered it towards Freya’s lips.
“Try this one out, it tastes great.” Said Elijah.
Freya blushed slightly but still opened wide enough so Elijah could feed her without any difficulty whatsoever while enjoying its juicy tenderness bursting forth once bitten into… she mumbled appreciatively afterwards, “Mm! It is delicious!”
Elijah looked at her puffed-up cheeks, which reminded him of a hamster, and couldn’t help butugh. He took the napkin and wiped the soup from the corner of her mouth, saying, “Slow down and eat. No one ispeting with you.”
Freya chewed a few times and swallowed before picking up a dumpling and holding it up to Elijah’s lips, saying, “I won’t eat it all by myself.”
Elijah smiled, not because of the food, but because Freya fed him the dumpling.
After finishing their meal, Freya said, “I’m going to the hospital. I’m afraid Zane will misunderstand and think you killed Ynda Steele. It could be bad for you. He doesn’t have a mother anymore and I don’t have a father. I hope he can be my family.”
She was afraid that Zane Stone would go down the wrong path.
Elijah nodded in agreement. He had his driver take Freya to the hospital.
When Freya arrived at the hospital, Elowen had alreadypleted her discharge procedures and was packing up her things in her room, ready to go home. Freya saw Zane Stone leaving his room and asked him, “Your arm isn’t healed yet. Why are you leaving so early?”
“I was just lying around in bed with my arm hanging there. It’s morefortable at home,” Zane Stone replied with a smile. “Besides, Freya, you’re a doctor too. If anything happens while I’m at home, I still have you!”
It seemed like he didn’t have any worries or troubles on his mind anymore. His mood seemed much better than before.
Freya looked at him and said, “I specialize in surgery; orthopedics is not my field.”
In conclusion, she added, “But if doctors say it’s okay to leave then there must not be anything serious.”
Actually she thought it was good that Zane Stone left as staying cooped up inside all day could lead to overthinking things unnecessarily. Luckily they had a driver waiting outside who took them back to The Stone Family estate together after they left the hospital
Elowen asked Freya to call Elijah and invite him over for lunchter that day but she declined knowing how busy he must be right now saying, “Mom let’s do it another time.”
Elowen also knew Elijah wouldn’t likely be free anytime soon either way.
For some reason ever since epting Elijah into their lives she felt like everything about him was perfect.
Freya nced towards Elowen who entered into another room before continuing speaking. “Zane, Elijah has no grudges against you. He didn’t harm your mother. You can’t believe everything people tell you…”
“What are you talking about, Freya? What does this have to do with my brother-inw?”
Zane quickly interrupted her. “I don’t suspect anything.”
Freya wasn’t sure if he meant what he said or not when he imed innocence.
“Really?” She asked skeptically
“Really,” replied Zane as he stood up from his seat heading towards his study where momentster emerged holding an invitation card. “By the way, Freya, this is an invitation for medical seminar. I think this might interest you.”
Freya’s eyes lit up, “Where did get this?”
As soon as she spoke, Zane handed over the card which she eagerly epted without hesitation.
His eyes flickered as he spoke, “I overheard some people at the hospital talking about it. I had to use my connections to get it.”
Freya yfully patted him, “Well, you alwayse through for me.”
Suddenly, Freya eximed in surprise.
