Chapter 905 Is It A Good Idea (Part Twp)
As soon as he came in, Lawrence halted in surprise at what he saw. Mike was sleeping soundly on the
sofa.
Lawrence immediately red up. He strode towards his desk and dropped the pile of documents
forcefully. Mike jerked out of sleep because of the loud sound.
Mike fluttered his eyes open. When he saw that Lawrence was already in his seat, he sat up slowly.
''You''re back from a meeting, eh?" Mike asked while yawning. "If you feel sleepy, you should have gone
to the lounge. Don''t you know where it is?" Lawrence reproached with a disgruntled look.
"Don''t get angry, okay? I intended to wait for you here but I didn''t notice that I drop off," Mike exined.
"I promise, it won''t happen again," he added.
He tried his best to ease Lawrence''s anger. He knew that his friend was a rigid, principled man. He
never allowed someone to do something irrelevant in his office.
Lawrence fixed his eyes on Mike with a livid face. He suddenly remembered that Aria waited for him
and ended up sleeping in the balconyst night. He couldn''t understand why Mike could fall asleep in
such a neat and serious office. ''Did he stay up the whole night yesterday, too?'' he asked himself.
"What are you doing here?" Lawrence asked. ''Looks like we meet too often recently, '' he thought.
"I have no ce to go except here. I was kicked out by my Dad," Mike replied with a resigned
expression. He even shrugged to show his helplessness.
"Do you need me to buy an apartment for you?" Lawrence asked again. He actually didn''t know what
really happened.
"Do you think I''m short of money? And my Dad had already started the real estate business. I have a
ce to live," Mike retorted. ''I know he is rich. But I''m not a beggar. Why does he always show off his
wealth in front of me?'' Mike thought as he was staring at Lawrence.
"So what are you trying to say?" Lawrence asked while going through some files. "Dad interrupted my
sleep and forced me to go on a blind date," Mike started to exin.
"I have no other choice but to turn to you for help," he added and pretended to look pitiful.
"You can stay in my house. Lily can take care of you there," Lawrence offered. Anyway, it had been a
while since he didn''t live in his home. It was fine with him to let Mike use his room.
"I don''t think it''s a good idea. I''d better call Tim and ask him to reserve a presidential suite for me," Mike
turned down his offer.
Suddenly, they heard someone talking from the door.
"Who''s speaking ill of my darling?" Alice asked. In a long dress designed by herself, she entered the
office in her four-inch high heels.
"Wow! Look who''s here!" Mike eximed cheerfully. "Come in and have a seat, our little beauty," he
invited Alice as if it was his own office. Alice''s arrival drove his sleepiness away.
"I didn''t mean to eavesdrop but I overheard your conversation. You mentioned Tim, didn''t you?" Alice
pretended to grill Mike.
"Yes, I did," Mike answered immediately. "But I didn''t speak ill of him. I just want him to reserve a
presidential suite for me. I need to check in into his hotel for a couple of days," Mike exined. All of a
sudden, he found it troublesome to make an exnation.Ccontent ? exclusive by N?/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
"You want to check in into a hotel?" Alice asked in surprised. ''He lives in a spacious andfortable
house. Why did he intend to live in a hotel?'' she wondered.
"Yes. I am homeless now," Mike replied, pretending to be poor.
Alice tittered. She decide to focus her inquiring gaze on Lawrence. She asked, "What''s going on,
Lawrence? Did he get into trouble?"
"If you have friends who are still single, introduce them to him. Otherwise, he will not be able to go
home," Lawrence said, not answering Alice''s questions directly.
But Alice immediately got what Lawrence meant. She turned to Mike and asked, "So you were forced
to get married, weren''t you?"
"That''s a good question. You''ve got me there," Mike replied. Then he added, "Why did you get married
so early? You and Tim just held a wedding ceremony the other day. Violet and Greg also got married
very early. You girls really put us into an awkward situation. Lawrence is lucky because he has a
girlfriend. Otherwise, he would have been threatened by his parents as well." Mikeined to Alice.
He couldn''t dare to directly air hisint to his aloof best friend.
"Looks like I have been too nice to you recently, eh?" Lawrence cut in menacingly. He was a little miffed
that Mike made fun of him.
"I''m just telling the truth. It''s nothing personal, dude. Don''t get me wrong," Mike extricated himself as he
noticed the displeasure on Lawrence''s face.
"I heard that you are popr among girls. Haven''t you found someone special among them?" Alice
asked gingerly. She didn''t want to displease Mike.
"ording to my family rule, I can''t marry a woman from a club," Mike blurted inly.
"Oh, I see. Then, I would advise you to just go on a blind date. Anyway, you have to face it sooner or
she finished talking, she felt the sullen look in Lawrence''s eyes. She immediately covered her mouth as
if regretting that she brought up something that shouldn''t be. She shouldn''t have mentioned Lawrence
and his girlfriend.
"Is it really a good idea to go on a blind date?" Mike asked skeptically. He was still not convinced.
Not all men could find his love on a blind date.
