Ivy didn''t know what to do so she just nodded her head and said, "Hello."

Lawrence didn''t respond and just kept on staring at her.
Ivy looked into his eyes timidly and added, "You know Reba? She will be very busy since she will
have to start shooting a new drama. So she requested me to take care of her aunt. That''s the reason
why I am here now."
After his long silence, Lawrence finally spoke again. He asked fiercely, "Are you her maid?"
Ivy was astonished and wondered why he asked such question.
But despite her confusion, she still managed to reply, "No, no, no."
"Then why do you need to help her take care of other people?" Lawrence asked again. He knew that
he was being childish right now but he couldn''t control himself. He wasn''t sure if it was because of
Reba or it was because of Ivy who was standing in front of him.
Ivy didn''t know how to answer his question so she fell into silence for a moment. She actually knew the
real reason but since it was about Reba, she wasn''t sure if it was right to tell this man. If she told
this man that the woman she was taking care of was Reba''s real mother and he happened to be a
journalist, this secret would be revealed. It would definitely ruin Reba''s pure and innocent image.
After Ivy thought about it carefully. Eventually, she decided not to tell this man the real reason.
Noticing her silence, Lawrence coldly asked, "Are you really not going to tell me the truth?" This was
the first time that someone refused to answer his question. Moreover, she was a woman. Lawrence
thought that this woman might be looking for death.
On the other hand, Ivy was thinking that this man might not be a journalist as she looked into his eyes.
But she still wanted to confirm so she asked, "Are you sure you''re not a journalist?" She didn''t want to
betray Reba. She knew how Reba worked hard to gain this fame she was enjoying now one
step at a time. She would never be the first person to tarnish her good image.
However, her question angered Lawrence more. "You thought I''m a journalist?" he asked with furrowed
brows.
Ivy scanned Lawrence from head to toe then finally decided that he was not a journalist.
So she told him the truth, "Reba doesn''t want other people to know that she has a weak and ill
mother. Since her mother is really sick, she has to be in a wheelchair if she wants to go out and enjoy
the sunshine."
Upon hearing Ivy''s exnation, something shed across Lawrence''s mind.
He then released Ivy and turned around to leave.
When he returned to the party, he saw Mike standing and drinking alone. He walked to him, took a
ss of wine and drank it.
Mike asked, "What happened? You seem to be unhappy." Mike guessed that Lawrence was in bad
mood because he was frowning and seemed to have something in his mind.
Lawrence ignored Mike''s question. Instead, he just looked around as if he didn''t hear anything.
Right at this moment, Alice showed up with an arm hooked on Tim''s. They were walking towards
Lawrence and Mike''s direction.
Alice greeted them happily. Then she asked, "Lawrence, Mike, what do you think of today''s show?"
Mike gave her a thumbs up andplimented, "For me, it''s perfect. You are indeed a talent who came
from a top design university." Mike truly believed that Alice had a superb skill in designing.
Alice smiled and thanked him.
Then she turned to Lawrence and said, "Lawrence, I would like to introduce to you my boyfriend, Tim
Xue." She nced lovingly at Tim.
Tim looked into Lawrence''s eyes and nodded his head. This was the first time for them to meet so he
didn''t know what to say. Lawrence was a famous and a powerful person so Tim felt a little intimidated.
He thought that he''d better keep silent.
Then he turned to Mike and politely reached out his hand for a handshake. Then he greeted, "Hello."
Mike took his hand and said, "I''ve heard that you are into a hotel business. We may have a chance to
cooperate in the future." Then he turned to Lawrence as if waiting for him toment.
But before Lawrence could open his mouth, Alice immediately said, "Yes. Lawrence, since you own the
JC Group, you should take care of Tim if you have good chance."
Lawrence looked at Alice and nodded his head slightly. He thought that he should give Tim some
business opportunities for the sake of his sister.
So Lawrence answered, "After I''m done evaluating thepany''s current situation, I can let him
manage some of JC Group''s hotels." His words represented the final decision which influenced the fate
of every person.
Alice and Tim looked at each other and smiled happily when they heard Lawrence''s response.
Then Mike joked, "Do you see that, Alice? Your Lawrence obviously likes you the most that he is so
generous to Tim. I''m kind of jealous." He pretended to give them a long face.
