Chapter 724 Alice Returned Home (Part One)
At the international airport
Violet and Greg were waiting at the arrivals gate.
"Why has Alice note out yet? The ne is supposed to have already arrived by now." Violet kept
anxiously looking at her watch.
"The ne might be dyed. Just wait a bit more," Greg reassured his wife, seeing that she could not
wait to see Alice.
Violet nodded her head and kept looking out every time someone got out of the gate.
Then, in the middle of the crowd, there stood a woman dressed in luxurious clothing. Every piece of her
outfit was extremely special. The design of her clothes and her essories which included her bracelet
and ne were quite unique. Ordinary people would normally not dress as such. Her sunsses
were sorge that they covered most of her face. With xen curly hair, she looked radiant. In a well-
designed coat, 10 cm. heels, thetest Dior handbag and small grey suitcase, she walked swiftly out of
the exit.
By this time, Greg had joined Violet in scanning the crowd to find Alice''s familiar face.
Although half covered by her sunsses, Alice''s face showed a big smile. When she saw the two so
nervous and anxious, it made her feel special and happy. She especially noticed that Violet obviously
couldn''t wait to see her and she was touched. The once little girl, held her very dear to her heart.
Alice approached them and stood right in front of Violet. She stared at Violet without saying a word,
enjoying those few seconds as she was about to surprise her.
For a split second, Violet noticed a strange woman in front of her but she ignored the woman, focusing
her attention on the exit where a few more people hade out. ''What''s taking Alice so long?'' Violet
was starting to get impatient.
"Excuse me, who are you waiting for?" Alice pretended to be a stranger and teased.
Hearing the familiar voice, Violet could''t help but turn to look at Alice still wearing her over sized
sunsses and staring at her. But after a quick and careful once over, she became wide eyed when
she realized the this woman was indeed Alice.
"Alice!" She gave out a loud and joyful shriek which attracted the attention of the people around them.
Violet jumped up and down as she hugged Alice tightly.
Alice took off her sunsses and happily held Violet,"Oh my god! Violet, I finally got to see you!"
After a few more moments of happy screams and lots of hugging, Violet and Alice stopped and looked
at each other.
Violetined,"You knew that I came here to pick you up. Why did you have to wear such big
sunsses?"
Alice took of her sunsses. "Ha ha, because I want to check if you''d still remember me or not. You
two didn''t recognize me just now. I''m the one who should be upset." As she said so, she turned to look
at Greg.
She thought to herself, ''What a mature and handsome man! He looks a lot more masculine than I
imagined. I only hope that he loves Violet forever. Five years is a long time and a lot of things could
change for a couple in that span of time. But Greg and Violet are standing here together and I am
happy. They make a wonderful couple. They look like their rtionship is going strong. As long as they
get along well, I''ll be at peace. As long as Violet is happy, I''m happy.''
Greg smiled and said,"Wee back home."
Alice alsoughed and replied,"Thank you foring here to pick me up."
Violet dly held Alice''s hand and looked at her up and down. Surprisingly, Violet said,"Alice Lu, you
look fabulous! This is what a sessful designer and the princess of the Lu family should look like. I''ve
heard that your recent design won a top design award. What prize has you won?"
Alice looked at Violet but didn''t tell her anything and just said,"Guess!"
Violet replied,"You must have won the first prize. I know how awesome you are."
Alice seriously looked at Violet and said,"You''re right. I won the first prize. And Violet, I have got you a
present."
"What present?" Violet hadn''t thought of a present for Alice and to her surprise, Alice had prepared a
present for her.
Alice dly replied,"I''ll give it to you when we get home. It''s quite meaningful and very special."
Greg looked around and felt that there were too many people around and it was not suitable for them to
chat there. Violet and Alice hadn''t seen each other for so long. Now that they have met again, they
must have a lot of things to talk about. So he said,"All right, let''s go now."
Violet replied,"Right, let''s go! Your parents have made reservations for you at a restaurant. We can go
straight to the restaurant from here and have a meal first. We can catch up some more, there." She
held Alice''s arm with one hand and held Greg''s arm with the other. The three walked out of the airport
together.
In the car, Violet and Alice sat in the back of the car, happily holding each other''s hands and were
unwilling to let go.
Violet asked,"Alice, now that you''re back, do you have ns to go abroad again in the future?" She
didn''t want Alice to leave anymore.
Alice said,"Of course not. I have returned so that I can be with you!" After hearing herself say that, she
worried a bit. Greg might think that she would take Violet away from him. So, she quickly added,"I
mean Greg is with you now because you''re a couple, but when he''s busy, I''ll take his ce and
apany you, so that you won''t be lonely."
Violet agreed,"Yes, I do need yourpany." Then she leaned her head on Alice''s shoulder and just
sat like that. Both Alice and Violet enjoyed that intimate moment.
Alice said,"I know. That''s why I came back."
Greg asked,"So Alice, have you thought about what you are going to do, now that you have returned?"
Alice replied,"I want to rest for a few days. Several brands have invited me to work as their designer,
but I haven''t decided yet. I''ll y it by feel for now." She felt that she didn''t need to worry about a job.
Even though she didn''t get one, she wouldn''t starve to death.
Violet replied,"That''s right. You have the talent and skills and no matter where you go, you don''t have to
fear anything and you get to choose the job that you like. So you can just spend time with your Mommy
and me for a few days. You don''t need to worry about work."
