Chapter 701 A Chance Encounter (Part Three)

What transpired in the ward that day was still fresh on Roger''s mind. Whenever he thought about his

attitude towards Violet, he always regretted what he had done. He wondered whether Violet would ever

forgive him. He was eager to seize this opportunity to own up and register his sincere apologies. He

desperately wanted to reach out to Violet and resolve his mistakes, which kept knowing at his

    conscience.

"Never mind. It''s not a big deal," replied Violet with a genuine smile.

Greg suddenly turned his eyes to Violet and said,"It''s gettingte. We need to go now."

"Okay," replied Violet. She knew Greg was running out of patience now. She could tell from his tone

and the expression of his face, which were different from before Roger came around.

Feeling on edge, Violet then turned to Roger and said,"Excuse me, Mr. Roger, we have to leave now."

At the very moment, Greg pulled her arm and tried to lead her away.

However, Roger pulled her other arm and tried to stop her after they just paced two steps.

"Violet, I..." he mumbled something forlornly, but Greg interrupted by sharply yanking Violet''s hand out

    of Roger''s grip.

When Violet broke free, Greg firmly wrapped her into his arms, drawing her close to his chest as he

    turned her away from Roger.

"Mr. Roger, you''d better stay away from my wife. I don''t want to rough you up in your mall. It''s not good

for your reputation," Greg warned, his eyes ming with anger. ''The creep can even dare grab my

wife''s arm? Jeez! Is he trying to make memit a homicide?'' Greg''s thoughts wildly raced about.

"I want to talk to her," replied Roger. He knew Violet and Greg already got married, but he hung onto

flimsy hopes that somehow Violet would stille back to him. Desperately, he wanted to exin to

himself. He also wished he could get her to say what exactly she thought about him. He was a man in

deeply regrets for letting genuine love slip through his fingers. In his obsession, he even prayed for

trouble in her marriage so that he could have her back.

"What if I don''t allow you to talk to her? She''s my woman. She''s my wife now!" Greg growled.

"I''m wondering whether she wants to talk to me," insisted Roger. He would never give up his love to

Violet unless she tly refused him to his face.

Without saying anything else, Greg turned his eyes to Violet.

When she looked into Greg''s eyes, she saw the anger deep in his eyes.

"Well, Mr. Roger, I think we should leave now because I don''t want to see Greg getting angry," said

Violet. Even though she knew those words would hurt Roger, who had saved her and had once been

so kind to her. But when she realized that her happiness with Greg was at stake, she stamped her

down. In any case, she was contented with Greg, whom she had no doubts who take the bullet for her.

    What more would anyone want?

"But Violet..." Roger started to say something but Violet interrupted him on the first two words.

"Mr. Roger, I''m already married now. I''m Greg''s wife. He''s very important to me, so I care more about

his feelings," Violet firmly stated. "I have nothing to do with the GR Group now. You were my boss, so

I''ll be courteous enough to greet you whenever we meet in the future. But only on condition that we

respect boundaries. I''m a married woman, and I''ll stick to my marriage, although I''ll be forever grateful

that you saved me. For that, I can''t thank you enough."

With that, Violet turned to Greg and before anyone could say anything more, she gently urged,"Greg,

    let''s go."

Straightaway, she held Greg''s arm and led him away.

Watching them walk away, an intense pang of pain cut through Roger''s heart. Not able to express how

painful he felt at heart, he thought the person who apanied Violet should be himself, rather than

Greg. Standing on the same spot, motionless and stiff like a pole, the wave of emotions that coursed

through his veins was sapping his energy and killing his spirit. Violet, he thought was supposed to be

the specialdy who''d stand by him for all eternity. But now, she had driven a sword through his heart,

and left him standing in the middle of a raging hurricane of pain.

When they came to the dessert store, Violet was no longer in the mood to eat here. Instead, she opted

to have the desserts packed up. Standing behind her, Greg didn''t say anything. After he paid for the

desserts, he took the bag and walked out of the store holding Violet''s hand.

When they sat in the car, Greg and Violet didn''t talk to each other either. Greg just revved the engine

    and drove away.

"Well, Greg, I didn''t know that Mr. Roger would be here in the mall. I didn''t mean..." Greg interrupted

her in the middle of her sentence.

"You didn''t know that he would look at you with his leering eyes either, did you? Did he always look at

you with such lustful eyes when you worked with the GR Group over the years?" Greg asked rather

"What are you talking about? I have nothing to do with Mr. Roger at all. He was just my boss, and I was

an ordinary employee like others," exined Violet hurriedly. She didn''t give a hoot if the whole world

misunderstood her. The only exception was Greg. She could ill afford to let any misunderstanding

creep in between her and Greg. Greg and his love meant more than the whole wide world.

Abruptly, Greg mmed the brakes and parked the car by the roadside. He turned his head and red

    at Violet.
