Chapter 660 For A Father''s Approval (Part One)
"Greg, are you insulting me?" The expression on Tina''s was distorted and she even wanted to walk up
to Greg and p him soundly.
Tina''s spontaneous reaction was stopped by Carol, who took her daughter''s arm and calmly warned,"
You know the consequences of offending the GR Group, right?"
"Yes, I am aware," Greg said blithely. Carol''s threat didn''t intimidate him at all," I just hope that you
target me, alone, and not uninvolved parties."
Unable to control herself any long, Tina screeched," Greg, I won''t let Violet get away with this."
Greg red angrily at Tina, shouting back," Don''t you dare harm her! You won''t get away with it!" He
wouldn''t allow anyone to harm Violet.
"Really? We''ll see about that," Tina angrily said meeting Greg''s gaze.
All the sudden Fred''s angry voice rang through the room," Tina!"
Tina turned her angry stare to Fred wanting to hear what he had to say.
"You would be wise to leave Violet alone. If you were to attempt to harm her, it would damage your
family, and you would be unable to bear the consequences," Fred informed her. Knowing Violet''s family
background and rtionship, he knew, whether it was Jackson, Cherry, or one of their good friends,
Wilson, Selina, Derek or Mond, their love for Violet was on par with the love for their children. If
something happened to Violet, they would not stand idly by. Even if the Yuwen Family and the Lu
Family did not intervene, and it was only Jackson, the Gu Family would be destroyed.
"Fred, are you supporting your son''s decision? You just promised your support to my daughter''s
marriage to your son though!" said Carol surprised when Fred changed sides so quickly and spoke for
Violet.
Hearing Carol''s words, Sharon hurriedly approached Fred, taking hold of his arm, and said," Right,
husband, you just promised Mrs Carol you would support Tina and Greg''s marriage."
"Yes, I just gave my promise, but now, I have to reconsider it," stated Fred. He hadn''t expected his son
to truly love Violet. He thought his son wasn''t in love when he promised, and that Tina would nurture a
good rtionship since they had known each other for a long time. Now, it seemed that everything was
not as he had perceived. He didn''t want to fight his son. He wanted his son to be happy, so, he needed
to respect his son''s opinions.
"Fred, you....." Carol stopped, she was so outraged that she wanted to lose her temper. She wanted to
use the Gu''s family influence to coerce the Xiao family, but the two families were equally as powerful,
and there was nothing she could use to sway them.
Just beside her, Tina blurted out in fury," Mom, they are browbeating us!" With her lousy temper
exposed, there was no way to avoid a heated argument anymore.
In the midst of her daughter''s tantrum, Carol took a few breaths to collect herself. She had experienced
many simr scenarios in the business realm and knew precisely how to handle this.
Since the problem was not going to right itself with the heated discussions, they needed to remove
themselves first," Tina, get your things, we are leaving!" announced Carol.
When she realized her daughter was not going to cooperate, Carol dragged Tina out of the Xiao family
home.
Sitting in the car, Tina decided she would give her Mother the silent treatment and looked out the
window.
"Fred has always been such a reliable person, I never imagined he would change his mind like that.
The Xiao family is simply being unreasonable," Carol stated angrily.
"Just look at them! It''s like they have conspired to insult us!" yelled Tina.
Carol went silent.
Suddenly, an idea struck Tina and she made a call.
A woman''s voice came through the phone," Hello, Miss Tina."
"I want you to investigate a GR Group employee named Violet. Send me all the information you find on
her, before tomorrow afternoon," Tina ordered, needing to know everything wanted about this strumpet.
With her orders heard, Tina hung up and looked ahead out the windshield angrily.
"What are you doing?" asked Carol looking at her Daughter.
Tina''s eyes were filled with loathing as she said firmly," I have always gotten what I wanted, and I
desire Greg. So, I require information on Violet, to n my next moves."
"Tina, think twice before you do something impulsive. Don''t go acting out like you used to," Carol
reminded her daughter.
"Mom, please! I am not a child anymore," said Tina. She had learned a thing or two while overseas,
and knew how to deal with this.
Carol didn''t respond, but nodded in agreement with her Daughter.
At the Xiao family vi, Sharon looked from silent father to equally quiet son, not knowing what to do.
"Greg,e up to my study," Fred said as he went upstairs.
Sitting on the sofa sorting out his emotions, Greg was confused and irritated. He felt that before he
could have a smooth conversation with his Father, he needed to sort through the frustration and anger
he was feeling in his heart.
Seeing Fred go upstairs and knowing Greg didn''t want to be around her, Sharon hesitantly suggested,"
Greg, go upstairs and talk to your father while I go prepare dinner."
As soon as she made her suggestion, Sharon went to the kitchen.
After seeing Sharon walk away toward the kitchen, Greg stood up and went upstairs.
Up in the study, sitting in a chair, Fred''s eyes were full of sorrow as he looked straight ahead. Greg
stood by the window with his arms crossed, calmly looking outside.
"Is Violet doing okay?" Fred asked. He hadn''t seen Violet in many years, and didn''t know how she was
since she was discharged from the hospital.
"Not good," Greg said curtly," She has been keeping a low profile, fearing others would treat her
specially if they recognize her as a Daughter of the Chu family."
Fred understood what Greg was talking about. Every girl had high requirements on her appearance,
more so for the princess of the Chu family. She would be the focus of the city, and an honored
princess, if it hadn''t been her ident.
"Where is she living?" asked Fred.
"With her parents away, she''s been living in her Uncle''s house," Greg informed his Father.
"The biggest reason you came back this time was for her, wasn''t it?" Fred asked while watching Greg.
"Yes," replied Greg," Dad, I once told you that I wanted to heal her wounds. All these years, everything
I do is for her."
In light of his son''s love, Fred had nothing to say. This love might very well be deeply ingrained in his
son''s heart, so whatever he said would be pointless.
Since his Dad did not speak, Greg exined," Dad, I just didn''t want you to tell them Violet''s

background because I am worried they will spread rumors in the business circle if they know. Violet
wants a quiet life and doesn''t want to be concerned by what others say, and I don''t want to destroy her
peace. The less people who know her family background, the better."
Understanding Greg''s intentions, Fred nodded. If it had been up to him, Fred would hope Violet lived in
an environment where no one focused on her appearance too. That way, she wouldn''t focus on what
happened in her childhood and life would be easier for her.
"Shouldn''t I tell your stepmother?" Fred suddenly asked. Sharon was a member of their family. He
would feel sorry if he couldn''t tell her the truth.
"No, we can''t let her know," Greg resolutely stated," You know her. To hobnob with the circle of wealthy
Fred was silent as he mulled things over. He was torn about not telling her. Sharon and he had been
sharing the same bed for many years, and he had never kept anything from her, except for things about
work, but, she wasn''t interested in his work.
