Chapter 654 We Still Love Each Other (Part Three)
Greg took a step forward and pulled her into his arms, as if worried that she would leave him again.
"Violet, it''s enough that you love me," he whispered in her ear. "I will handle everything else. I will face
the world and answer for their contempt. Besides, you don''t need my family''s approval. I want to be
with you, and I know you want to be with me. That''s enough reasons for us being together." He paused,
before continuing,"You silly girl, I love you."
His tender words melted Violet''s heart. Only Greg could give her this warmth. No one else could make
her feel like this.
Violet decided to tell him onest thing. "Greg, but your step-mother..." She wanted to reveal what
happened five years ago. It was the only reason for her guilt and shame. She knew she was to me
for their breakup. She had been tricked by Sharon, but Greg had no clue.
"Violet," Greg interrupted her. She could feel his hot breath on her ear. "I''ll deal with everything that
keeps us from being together. I only have one request for you: don''t leave me again. Promise that you
won''t leave me."
Greg let her go and stared into her eyes with utmost sincerity. He wanted hermitment in this.
Violet was troubled as she looked at him. She had always put his future first. Like Sharon had said,
Violet wouldn''t be the suitable wife for him. It was why Violet chose to let him go all those years ago.
But Violet hadn''t been happy the past five years. She bumped into Greg again only a couple of days
ago, but it was obvious he had not forgotten her. He was still in love with her, and Violet still knew him
better than anyone else.
''Violet, it''s time you put yourself first, like Auntie Selina said, '' she told herself. ''You have lost five years
of happiness. You must seize this with your whole heart. Greg loves you so much, probably more than
he loves himself. How could you continue to break his heart?''
"Violet," Greg interrupted her thoughts. He felt uneasy. Violet still stood silent and unmoving. He was
afraid that she was going to refuse him.
"All right, Greg." Violet nodded with resolution. "I won''t leave you again. Thank you for giving me the
confidence to be with you. Thank you for reminding me of our love."
Greg''s smile at her response was radiant. He looked like his heart was bursting with joy.
"Remember that you''re mine. You''re the one I love. You''re not inferior to anybody else. I want to see
the lively Violet from five years ago, who was all smiles for me. She is my heart and soul," he said, his
eyes gleaming.
Violetughed. "How stupid I was at that time!"
"Were you stupid then? I don''t think so," Greg scrunched his nose and disagreed. It was only natural
that they did stupid stuff when they were kids. But even at that time whenever he saw her adorable
smile, his heart would only beat faster. Her smile made him feel at the top of the world while her tears
broke his heart into pieces.
Violet circled her arms around his waist and looked up at him. "Tell me something. Did you have any
girlfriend in the time you were abroad?"
Greg pretended to think over it seriously. "Well..."
"Did you have a lot of girlfriends?" Violet''s eyes were wide with rm. When Violet was in university, he
had gone abroad for his studies. She had looked up his college before. There were a number of rich
and beautiful girls there from different countries. Greg must have known a lot of pretty girls.
"Something like that. I did receive love letters every day," Greg said. Mischief danced in his eyes as he
took her in her panic. It made him grin.
Violet pouted dramatically and hit his chest. "Greg, you womanizer. How dare you?"
At this, Gregughed and bent over her to kiss her. After a few seconds, he raised her head and stared
into her eyes. "I was just joking, sweetheart. My heart was stolen long ago. Do you know where it is? I
can''t seem to find it."
Violet snuggled in his arms, content. He was so much bigger and stronger than he used to be. It made
her feel so secure.
Greg interrupted her silence. "But Violet, It seems to me you''re always surrounded by guys."
Violet denied it immediately. She was innocent in this. "What are you talking about? There''s no other
man around me."
"For instance, Roger. There is also that other guy you like," he continued softly as if he hadn''t heard
her.
"What other guy? There is only one man in my heart," Violet confessed without hesitation.
"One man? Who is he?" Greg prodded her. He had wondered about this man before, having overheard
her mention someone to Roger. If it wasn''t Greg himself she had been talking about, he would make
sure that man disappeared from this world. She would forget about that man in no time. Violet would
only be devoted to Greg.
"Greg, you''re so silly, you know who he is and you''re still asking me. It''s you, you idiot." Violet was
surprised to find her face warming up. In the past, she had never felt shy about saying sweet nothings
to Greg. Now, she felt bashful confessing her feelings to him. Violet realized she should act like ady.
They were grown-ups now, after all.
"Oh, is it?" he feigned ignorance. "Then I''ve never loved you more, Violet," He said. This moment with
her was his happiest since he came back to China.
"But Greg, we left the hospital in such a hurry. What would Roger and Tina think?" Violet said after a
while with some concern. That had been the first time Violet had met Tina, but thetter had already left
a deep impression on her. She knew Tina wouldn''t be easy to deal with. How mad would she be once
she got to know that Violet was with Greg now?
Greg''s smile disappeared. "I''ll handle it," he told her. "You just do your thing. If you get bullied, you

answer back, just like how you did with your ssmates back in school. I''ll bear the consequences.
Don''t let others walk all over you. Understood?"
"Okay," Violet said, nodding. Greg always gave her the strength to deal with things. Violet decided to be
more confident in herself and live her life with respect. If Greg protected her, she was sure she would
be as happy as she used to be, in no time at all.
