Chapter 616 First-aid In The Hospital (Part Two)
When they arrived at the hospital, the hospital staff quickly wheeled her inside and to the operating
room. Some of the staff had to stop Lawrence from rushing inside after Violet. He tried to see what they
were doing to his sister but he couldn''t see anything.
Bill rushed inside the emergency room and found Lawrence, dazed, slumped on the floor, by the wall.
He lumbered to Lawrence and brought him to sit on the chairs. He kept himself calm while he dialed
Derek''s number.
"Hello?" A sleepy voice answered on the other line.
"Mr. Derek! Please. You have toe to the hospital. Quickly. Violet is hurt. And their parents are not
here. You''re the only one I know I can turn to," Bill recounted and begged. It was past midnight and
they were already sleeping but he had no choice.
"What?" Derek sat up, now wide awake. "Bill, what happened?" Derek asked. He was already on his
feet.
"Violet was on the floor. And there was blood everywhere," Bill started to exin. "And there was
broken ss on the table, on the floor, on Violet-"
"What? There was blood? Which hospital did you take her?" Derek pressed Bill for more information.
"XS Hospital," Bill reported.
"I''m on my way. Where''s Lawrence?" Derek asked while he pulled his pants through his legs.
"He''s here. We''re both at the waiting room," Bill answered. Bill took a few steps backward so Lawrence
wouldn''t hear his words. "He must be freaking out right now. He hasn''t spoken a word since we

Derek could only imagine what Lawrence must be going through. Cherry had always protected him,
sheltered him, and he''s never experienced anything like this before. He must be devastated.
"Okay, watch over him. I''ll be right there," Derek told Bill.
"Okay, Mr. Derek, we''ll be there."
Bill hung up and called Lily.
Amy was already sitting up on the bed when Derek hung up the phone. "What happened?" Amy asked
Derek. She only caught some of the words Derek said but she could hear the panic in his voice. "Did
something happen to Lawrence?" she asked.
"Violet is at the hospital. She''s hurt. I have to go there now," Derek exined in a hurry.
"Oh my god!" Amy''s hand flew to her mouth, her eyes wide in shock. "What happened?"
"I don''t have all the details yet. Just stay home today, look after Alice. And call the school and tell them
about Violet. I''ll call you when I know what happened," Derek instructed Amy. He was very worried
about Lawrence and Violet.
"Call me from the hospital!" Amy shouted to Derek''s back, who took his coat and rushed out the door.
Derek rushed out the door and to his car. He sped out of the garage and called Fred, the president of
XS Hospital, on the way.
"Derek? It''ste. What''s wrong?" Fred was sleeping when Derek called. His voice had a quizzical tone,
surprised that Derek was calling sote.
"Fred, I need a favor," Derek said. "Something happened to Jackson''s daughter, Violet. She''s in your
hospital now. Please send your best doctors to help her."
"Jackson''s daughter? What happened?" Fred was shocked. ''Did something happen to Jackson''s
daughter?'' Fred thought. ''That''s not good. She''s precious to the family.''
"I''m on my way there now. Please do what you can," Derek requested Fred.
"Okay, I got it! I aming soon," Fred hurriedly responded. "Okay, yes, yes, of course! I''ll be there
soon," Fred reassured Derek.
Fred leaped off the bed when he hung up the phone and woke his son. He wanted to be with his son,
Greg, tonight but he wasn''t expecting this to happen.
"Daddy, it''s sote. Where are you going?" Greg rubbed his eyes to look at the time, his face confused.
"Your Uncle Jackson''s daughter is hurt. She''s at the hospital and I need to go to her," Fred told his son.
Greg woke up at the news. "Is Violet okay?"
Fred didn''t hear Greg as he packed his briefcase and called the hospital for reports.
Not waiting for Fred''s answer, Greg got off the bed and dressed quickly. He rushed after his father out
the door.
Fred only noticed Greg when Greg opened the car door. "What are you doing?"
"Violet is my friend. I want to go to the hospital, too. I want to see her," Greg replied.
Fred noticed his son was already dressed and nodded. "Fine, get in the car. I need to be there already."
Greg was already in the passenger seat, with his safety belt buckled in. "I''m ready."
Derek rushed into the emergency room and found Lawrence and Bill together.
"Bill, is there any news?" Derek asked Bill.
Bill shook his head. "None. The doctors haven''te out yet," Bill reported.
Derek stared at the doors to the operating room.
Derek approached Lawrence and ced a hand on his shoulder. He called,"Lawrence."
Lawrence lifted his head when he heard his name. His eyes met Derek''s and tears flowed from it.
"Uncle Derek, I didn''t mean to get her hurt!" Lawrence cried. He shouldn''t have gone to the bar to get
drunk, he thought. He should have gone home early, had dinner with Violet, and spent the entire night
with her.
Derek embraced Lawrence. "It''s not your fault, Lawrence. This is not your fault," Derek reassured
Lawrence. "Violet''s going to be fine."
Derek continued tofort Lawrence and sat with him at the waiting room. They couldn''t do anything
at that point but to wait.
Fred and Greg arrived at the emergency room a few minutester. Fred rushed to Derek''s side and
saw the deep worries in both their eyes.
"Derek," Fred ced his hand on Derek''s shoulder. Derek and Lawrence lifted their head and locked
eyes with Fred. "Fred, thanks foring," Derek thanked his friend.
Fred nodded to Derek. He turned to Lawrence,"Lawrence." Lawrence nodded,"Uncle Fred."
"I''m going to see what I can find out. Stay here, okay?" Fred reassured Derek and Lawrence.
